I dug right into the food. I apologize for not taking any pictures. This was a togo order. I did…read morenot call ahead. I showed up just after 5pm on a Sunday evening. They have a small and cozy dining hall that was full. I had all ready had an idea of what I would order but quickly looked at the menu just in case I wanted to take additional item home. I ordered papaya salad, pad see ew, and tom ka soup. I also got a thai tea to go. I might have waited 15-20 minutes for my order. There were also several call in orders that people came in to pick up. I am surprised at the speed they produced the food. The bench seat had a small view of the kitchen. I believe this is a very efficient full fledged family restaurant. Everyone was friendly and nice. The way they packaged the food was thoughtful. I had a 20 minute drive back home. It stayed warm /hot and no leakage even with the soup. Now the food: Papaya salad was delicious. Great flavor. My only issue is it was marked on the menu as spicy. *Morgan Freeman voice* -it was not in fact spicy. It was completely spice free. I know that SE asians are sweet to profile us pale people as no heat, but I was really looking forward to spice.... So for next time I will request heat added as I am a non-practicing alabaster person. To be fair, every fair complexion person with a togo order clarified that their food was "non spicy." I can't call them out for playing it safe. Yes queens. Pad see ew: shrimp was my protein. It was delicious. Regular broccoli was used. Chinese broc might be out of season. I don't care. It was great. Will eat again FR. Tom ka soup: the gem of this story. They made it without onions, be praised, as I have a horrible allergy and most of my one star food reviews are about food safety in relationship to ignoring food allergies. This was fresh, flavorful, bright. Great protein to both ratio. Probably one of the best versions I have ever had. Will be ordering again. Probably regularly. Thai tea: was great. Ice, tea, milk ratio good. I like less ice in my drinks... she somehow knew this. Now I know if I want Thai I have a place to call Thai Home (see what I did there), that I won't have to drive twice the distance to Portland to get fantastic Thai food. Honestly, I think this is way better than most of the thai restaurants in the greater portland area. Thank you for a wonderful dinner and subsequent left overs! 10/10.

We stopped in on the way through and the food was great! Would stop by again for sure.read more

So it looks like I never fished my review. Kate is actually the sweetest woman ever. She may not be…read morethat friendly overall like some people expect. She puts her love into her cooking and community. I hope people treat her with the kindness and respect she absolutely deserves. Best tamarind chicken ever! I can not recommend it more! Her food is fresh and is always large portions. If she knows you are sharing she always sneaks in extra. She might not always smile but forgive that and experience some great Thai home cooking. Kates truck is clean. It's a super cute color. She has a great little coveted seating area. In order to get the fastest service try calling. Often times she will recognize the number and remembers what and how you like it. Thank you Kate.

I'm assuming the woman cooking the food is Kate and what a funny and lovely person she is! You can…read moretell she loves cooking and cares so much about her community and customers. She keeps her prices reasonable because she wants her food to be accessible, and whatever she makes in tips just goes back into the business. Ordered the pad kee mao and garlic shrimp. We were delighted that the food actually came out spicy as requested, as so many restaurants tend to hold back. She def does not skimp on the portion sizes or protein. Her food is pretty good - is it the best Thai food I've had? Prob not. But it's far from being bad and for McMinnville, it's a gem that I was not expecting and I will certainly come back again next time I'm in the area.
