Amendment after further experience with the manager Jonathan- original issue was that I had gone initially for a test drive, and it ended up being longer than expected. After the drive i expressed to the salesman that i had very limited time to discuss pricing and had to go promptly. I did not have a great experience once returning to the dealership and ended up leaving unhappy because I felt that my time wasn't being respected. But the manager reached out to me to better understand the circumstance I left under, and he definitely did all that he could in order to salvage our relationship. I was quite bothered initially because I was not asking for much and felt disrespected by the salesman, but the manager Jonathan quickly remedied the situation giving me exactly what I asked for. And went further to ensure I would be happy and comfortable with my purchase, and even offered to fill the car up with a full tank of gas. I admit, it was my choice to come with limited time, so perhaps I dealt them a difficult customer but Jonathan has definitely salvaged my sale with this dealership and I will definitely recommend them to others. read more

I've had my Honda for 12 years. The service has been okay, but this last time, I took it in to fix my AC 5 separate times and each time they ordered a new part. Each time, the AC wouldn't work again after a week or so. It was especially inconvenient that they had to keep my car for a week+ each time. 5 stars for service / 0 star for sales I have been coming to the Pasadena location for over 8 years to service all my Hondas and have been very pleased with the service dept. Although prices were always high, I still bring my cars in because the advisors here (Vincent, Edgar, Eduardo, to name a few) are never pushy. I appreciate their honesty, integrity, and professionalism, and that is what keeps me coming back here. There have never been any surprises or misunderstandings and my cars have been well maintained here. That is why I have been recommending this location to friends and family. However, I cannot speak the same of the sales dept. I had the worst car buying experience here. I regrettably hopped over to sales because I thought the workers here were trained like the service dept. Apparently, they weren't. The salespeople here do not have the same work ethic. Under the direction of their manager, they are very deceptive, pushy, and treat you like a tiny and unworthy person if you do not agree with their belittling offer for your highly valued car that people on the street would pay, at the very minimum, triple for. And they lie on just about everything. I will only give credit to Richard, who was the reason I even stepped into the sales dept. For months, I had been receiving calls from him to come in for a trade-in quote. It sounded like they wanted to offer a good price for my car. But I was in no rush to buy. As a matter of fact, I just replaced my catalytic converter, completed transmission flush, replaced AC filter, and other routine maintenance that cost me a ton more than what his colleagues said my car was worth. I knew what my car was worth and did not want to trade it since their offer was ridiculously low. I have been offered a much higher price outside but just wanted to see what the dealer wanted to offer since they kept calling me. I tried to walk away because haggling with them was not worth my time. Unfortunately, they asked me what price I would take because they wanted to make a deal with me that day and I ended up making a deal even though it was much lower than what I would have gotten if I sold the car on my own.  The whole process was agonizing but Richard remained polite and courteous. His colleagues, however, were mocking and throwing horrendously low numbers around like I was desperate to sell my car. The experience felt like they put me in a psychiatric ward and made me feel like I wasn't worth anything but the numbers they threw at me.  When I sat down to go over payment, which should have been the total price tag minus the trade-in and discount for Costco members, they ended up charging me thousands more instead of less due to hidden add-ons that were not on the price sticker posted on the car itself. These add-ons were never mentioned when I picked the car off the lot. They were unnecessary and I did not want them. But since they were already installed and I had wasted a lot of time there already, I just unhappily settled. I thought, finally, I sucked up the add-ons and will move on with my life. But when I got home, I realized the opposite.  I had to bring my car back in when I noticed a rip in the rear seat cushion behind the middle seat. It took me three extra visits to resolve the issue. I was grateful that Eduardo in service helped me with replacing the ripped car seat, when not one sales advisor would do a single thing. I so dearly miss him because he was a man of integrity and cares for his customers. Why isn't there any workers like him in the sales dept? Once you buy a car from Honda Pasadena, and drive it off the lot, you are considered history in their books. The sales people could care less about any problem that the car may have. It's really disgusting. When I finally came in for my first oil change last week, I was shocked to find out they lied about that as well. I was informed by Richard and the finance guy when I purchased my car in Aug 2025 that I would have 2 free oil changes included. Even though I was very disappointed because the 2022-25 models included two years of service, I swallowed that as well and settled for the 2 oil changes. After my first oil change, I went to the sales manager to explain what I was told I would get at the time of purchase, but he only talked down to me like I was a liar. He gaslighted me about my purchase and said I should have bought the extra service package. I informed him that two people at the time confirmed I would be receiving 2 oil changes, but he dismissed that and just went on to say how I shouldn't even have received the trade-in that I got. I was like, what does this have to do with the oil change? Since he did not want to help, I asked him if I could speak to Richard. It was Wed and he said Richard would be in on Fri. Well, it's now been a week since the sales manager made that empty promise and I still have not received a call from Richard. It's absolutely unbelievable and utterly disgusing. read more

Both were straightforward through the whole process -- no pressure tactics, no surprise add-ons or hidden fees tacked on at the end, which I really appreciated. Purchased a 2024 Honda Accord Hybrid EX-L at this dealer in December 2023. First, dealer is very firm on including dealer add-ons as part of the vehicle price, so be prepared to spend hours negotiating... I have taken my vehicle to this dealer for various recalls & to address other issues under the 3 year/36k mile factory warranty. Every time, the experience with the service advisor and techs has been subpar. Be prepared to also spend hours waiting for simple maintenance services. The car has issues with a broken steering rack (common issue), various rattles, creaking in the door, loose/broken seatbelt holders, and suspension groans. The service advisors will not properly honor the bumper-to-bumper warranty to address your concerns and the techs are either incompetent, understaffed/overworked, or simply just do not care. Even if you go on a ride along, they will brush off your complaints about noises and not investigate further. In the case where my seatbelt holder in the B pillar was clearly rattling due to a loose tab/screw, my car was returned with a stuck and broken seatbelt holder. The seatbelt holder on the other B pillar was left loose and rattling somehow. This was after having to wait multiple hours. From the beginning, I felt misled and taken advantage of. Communication was poor, and I was left feeling like my concerns didn't matter. Instead of receiving honest, transparent service, I felt like I was being given the runaround. Buying or servicing a vehicle is a major investment, and customers deserve to be treated with respect and integrity. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. The finance department is super nice when you're purchasing a car BUT i refinanced my loan and requested my warranty be refunded and they were EXTREMELY rude they did NOT want to help. I went in and they advised they had to request the refund from the company i bought my warranty from and they would mail me a check. 3 months later i had to follow up with the warranty company only for then to tell me the same week i requested the warranty be cancelled and refunded they gave the dealer approval to issue my refund, meaning the dealer gives me my refund... ive been calling Honda of Pasadena for about a week now and either no one in finance is available or they tell me they dont deal with the refunds and tell me a woman will be giving me a call... this entire situation has been a nightmare and the finance department being rude and giving me the run around has made it even worse. I had a really frustrating experience at Honda Pasadena. I came in because my car wasn't detecting GPS, and the service analyst told me it would take about 15 minutes to try a simple reset by disconnecting and reconnecting the battery. Unfortunately, that's not what happened. The inspection found some significant issues with the rear struts on my 2014 CRV, which they replaced efficiently and promptly. I want to start by giving credit where it's due: the Service Department at Honda of Pasadena has been spectacular. In my experience, they've been professional, helpful, and consistently excellent. They are not pushy even when recommending additional maintenance items. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The sales representatives are also genuinely kind and often try to go the extra mile. Once, they met me after hours at a convenient location to bring me the car I was purchasing and to sign the paperwork.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Great guys!! With one issue: My family has purchased multiple vehicles here (I've purchased two, and my sons have purchased one or two each). In each purchase, the vehicle had a clearly posted sticker price, but we were then presented with additional charges (up to $2-3K) for equipment that was already on the vehicle. When we asked to have the added charge removed, the response was to remove the equipment instead. The finance department experience has been the most disappointing of all. I felt there were unnecessary add-ons and "upsells" inserted into the paperwork, and when we questioned them, the tone could become dismissive rather than respectful or transparent. They mocked, scoffed, and laughed at us for not taking their suggested add ons. In one situation, after my 21 year old son negotiated the price with sales and specifically told them to remove the additional charges, the charge appeared to be removed - but almost $1,000 was later added back in by the finance department when taxes and fees were being finalized. Sadly, he didn't catch it at the time. That kind of last-minute change undermines trust. [[HIGHLIGHT]]He called when he realized the charge had been added back in. He told them that it seemed sleazy, and the guy yelled at him and chewed him out for using "that word" when describing them.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] He went back in a couple of days later, and saw the guy. He wouldn't look my son in the eyes. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I've also called to register a complaint and ask for the situation to be made right, but the concerns were not meaningfully addressed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Because of these repeated issues, I can't recommend purchasing a vehicle here unless you are extremely careful: ask for a fully itemized out-the-door breakdown, review every line before signing, and confirm that negotiated items remain removed in the final paperwork. I had a great experience at Honda of Pasadena recently. Casey helped me initially and was incredibly patient and friendly throughout the process. They gave me and my wife the opportunity to test drive a used Honda Odyssey that I had looked up in advance via the Sam's Club Auto program powered by True Car. Speaking of which, I highly recommend checking out an auto buying program (Costco or Sam's Club to name a few) as it cuts down on some of the final price negotiation that would expected at a dealership. It doesn't exactly lock in the price but does give a good starting point. What I appreciated was that they never rushed me and took the time to answer all my questions. The entire process took about 4 hours, but that included everything--test driving, discussing the purchase with my wife, and even calling my insurance company to add the car to my policy. The team was accommodating throughout. My personal recommendation is to never schedule another activity when you're buying a car so you're not rush for time. When it came time to handle the financial details, Michael Vargas in the finance office was excellent. He explained everything clearly and took time to repeat himself. What stood out most was how straightforward he was with all the numbers - no hidden fees or confusing terms, just honest and transparent communication about the number. In general, the dealership would always focus on the monthly payment number rather than the absolute value. So it doesn't hurt to have a number in mind and to shop around for better auto loan rate outside of the dealership. Or else once the numbers start flying around and all the potential add ons are being discussed, it's easy to feel overwhelmed. The entire team at Honda of Pasadena made what could have been a stressful experience into a smooth one. I am extremely angry. Out of initial trust in Honda of Pasadena, I purchased a car in full cash. However, the finance department, without my authorization, forged a "Retail Installment Sale Contract" (Deal# 941988) with American Honda Finance Corp. This is a severe violation of dealership compliance and consumer rights. This is finance fraud, putting the customer at risk for their own convenience. Even more ridiculous, as soon as I drove off, the tire pressure light came on and the underbody splash guard fell off. The next day,after I drove back and had them repair it, I asked several times if there were any other issues, and they replied that everything was fine. In the end, I discovered they had actually tied it up with plastic zip ties! (see photo)! This is not a repair; it is a lethal safety hazard and a deceptive practice. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I tried to resolve the contract with the General Manager and Finance Manager, they claimed I was being unreasonable. Instead of taking responsibility, they allowed an Asian salesperson to verbally abuse me right in front of the Finance Manager, calling me an 'idiot' and taunting me to 'get a lawyer.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Is this how Honda of Pasadena treats its customers? Is this how you win more customers? Concealed Corrosion: Although they claimed the vehicle passed a "Safety Inspection" just days ago, they concealed the severe and dangerous rust in the fuel tank area, proving their so-called safety inspection was a complete fabrication. I have already filed a complaint with the DMV（Case CC-0000053735）. I never expected such a heartless and deceptive experience in a country built on credit and integrity. Regarding your staff member's suggestion to "get a lawyer"--I have taken that advice. My legal counsel is currently reviewing the forged contract and the safety hazards. read more

I had the worst experience here. My husband and I came in JUST to get my lease appraised to see if we had any positive equity that we could roll into a new lease or what a buy out option may be. Our salesman Fred appraised my lease and then wouldn't tell us how much it was worth. Instead he took our keys, and held us hostage. He tried to tell us that our payment would go up by 100$ if we bought my lease and the only way to get a lower monthly payment was to get a new lease. He then started bringing out different offers and quotes and all of the APR on the quotes were set to 10%. I told him that's outrageous my credit score is 800+, and we have navy federal credit union that approved us for a 4% rate, that's insane. He told us he needed it run our credit to confirm and I showed him my Experian and proof of funds. I didn't want to run my credit because I didn't plan on purchasing anything that day, I just wanted to see option- and I made this very clear from the beginning. He would go back into the finance office, come back and berate us about getting into a new lease and how it was the only viable option EVEN AFTER we told him we were no longer interested. This lasted TWO WHOLE HOURS. The only way we were able to leave was after I had convinced him my husband and I were fighting and we needed to "have a serious conversation about this first". In reality my husband and I were on the same page and just wanted to leave. A senior finance manager then came out and tried to talk to us. It turns out Fred had told the finance office that our credit score was 650. Which is a very common and scammy thing car salesmen do to try and get you to pay more, or freak out over a large monthly payment and jump into a new lease. UNFORTUNATELY for Fred, my husband and I are not idiots. This is a crime that can be reported to the BBB and the dealership can get fined. After another 20 minutes of arguing with Fred, we finally got our keys back. In the days following I have been contacted every single day by several people at Honda Pasadena inquiring about my lease, if I want a new lease, or to turn my current lease into a purchase. My husband and I are only 24, which is why I believe we were targeted. Our lease is also in perfect condition and has very low miles which is also a factor. We are both self made business owners, and my husband also works in sales. We were not good targets to run your scam on. We went to Goudy Honda immediately after and worked with the most amazing and honest salesman, Carl. He appraised our lease for almost 2k over the buy-out price. There are wonderful and honest Honda dealers at Sierra Honda in Monrovia and Goudy Honda in Alhambra. Go there. NEVER go to Honda Pasadena unless you want to be scammed and held hostage. read more

I always feel like when I go to the dealership I have some sort of fear or worry that I am about to get scammed. I feel like a lot of dealerships up, sell you an overcharge and when I initially made my appointment with Honda Pasadena, I thought it was going to be a similar experience. I was ready for them to tell me 100 different things were wrong with my car rather than what I brought it in for which by the way was my air conditioning and a recall that was issued a couple years ago. However, much to my surprise the staff was friendly, direct and quick. When I made the appointment, the service department did not mention, but the person checking me and did, that I would have to pay a $290 diagnostic fee. Total rip off when it comes to fixing the fob for keys. The plastic housing of my key broke. Everything else inside still works so I called Honda to ask about a replacement of just the fob which is literally just two pieces of plastic. The transponder still works so all I needed was just the plastic fob. They told me I had to replace EVERYTHING regardless which would have to include programming. No matter how many times I explained that I just needed the plastic housing aka the fob replaced they said it was either all or nothing. So I asked how much it would cost. They told me a total of $367 (thats $167 for the plastic housing aka the fob and then $200 for programming). So I googled how to repair my honda key and came across a reddit thread of someone asking the same thing. Found some youtube videos and went on Amazon to order the key fob for ....wait for it.....a whopping $6.99!!! The set included the fob, a screw driver, two extra screws, the piece to slide the key into the fob, easy directions and links for programming it yourself. Since I didnt need to program mine because the transponder is still working I just had to transfer the inside and key part to the new fob. Took me all of 5 minutes thanks to the Youtube video and Amazon reviews that gave pictures and directions. My key works just fine and I only had to pay $6.99!!! And to think Honda wants to charge me $167 for two tiny pieces of plastic and force unnecessary programming on an already functional transponder for an additional $200 - basically ripping me off for over $367 to fix my key. I am very upset and disappointed in my services at this Honda location. I have been here before and I don't know where went wrong but I went in for a service and ended up needing to replace a tire. I was dropped off and picked up from work so it was a full day being serviced. I noticed that week my car didn't feel completely aligned and wasn't sure if it was off or not, but now that I'm back from traveling I went to drive my car to work and noticed my damaged tire was rotated to another side and the wrong perfectly fine tire had been replaced and was flat again! Completely unacceptable and unprofessional. I was charged over $600 + for a tire and the services to replace it. For it to be done completely wrong is very upsetting. read more

Kenny La a real jerk. We'd agreed on a price via text message. He wanted me to come over to complete the transaction, and we agreed. So after work, I picked up a friend and we went straight to the dealership. When we got there, we were almost done with the final step when he suddenly came out of his office and said he couldn't sell to us for the price we'd agreed on via text. He said we had to pay an extra $250, even though we'd already agreed on a price, and that it was a mistake. He apologized and offered to compensate us for the gas we'd spent getting there.
