Our Hyundai stalled on I-95 about 4 miles north of Ormond Beach, and after some effort we got it running just enough to make it to Honest-1 Auto. By the time we reached their shop, the car completely broke down right at the entrance. Honesty and greed would be the first things to improve. My last experience with Honest One - a family member had a car with an electrical problem and was told it needed a new alternator but he didn't have the money to fix it then. This was not true. He had a second opinion when he moved to another state and the alternator was fine, it was just a dirty battery hook up. Had to replace the fuel pump in my car, they "fixed" it. Took it home shut it off, and it would not start again. Now, it seems that another part associated with fuel system needed replacing inside the gas tank. Funny how that happened just after replacing the fuel pump. I wondered why the guy said he wasn't going to turn it off when i went in to pay for the services. I think the person knew what would happen. According to Liz, this new part broke because I put more a little more gas in it after it was full. I am the owner and driver and overfilling is not what I do and/or she said, that parts wear out at the same time. Ridiculous. Unfortunately, Due to circumstances, I had to have them fix it. And they believed that they did me a big favor by paying for the second tow and thought I should be grateful for that. At one time, I thought it was a great place for repairs, I will never go back nor would I recommend them to anyone. read more

Went to Honest-1 Auto Care for issues with my Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland. It was shaking violently while sitting idly at red lights, as well as when driving above 70mph. They took great care of my vehicle, troubleshooting everything as well as inspected everything. Gave me a detailed in-depth inspection report, which showed me everything I needed to worry about, as well as things to worry about later down the road. They repaired my Jeep, and is riding perfectly now. The price for repairs was obviously expensive, about $1,900, but it was worth it. I know labor for working on a Jeep is a bit extensive and time-consuming. They were informative, professional, and helpful. 10/10 would go back. read more

I am new to Florida, and since I drove my car from Chicago to Florida, I wanted to make sure that everything was in order and operating properly. I was specifically looking for a female, owned and operated business because I honestly don't understand cars and my husband took care of our cars and since my husband's deceased, I wanted to support a female owned and operated business. Well, OMG am I glad I did. This place checks everything and for an extremely reasonable price. Forget Jiffy Lube and all those other places if you're in Florida specifically Ormond Beach, you need support this establishment. To be perfectly frank, I did not even know how to open the hood of my car, and they even took the time to show me that. Please, please, please please please, support this business. UPDATE: Frank was kind enough to call me back and correct the erroneous charge of $90 in supplies by providing a refund directly to my card. Thanks for your great customer service and responsiveness to feedback! I really enjoyed the demeanor of the front desk staff and their shuttle offerings, but was a bit disappointed with their prices and had to decline services. Average rates for mechanic labor across the state are around $145-150/hr, they were charging closer to $200, which is their prerogative if they think their services are worth that - it just wasn't affordable in my opinion. Their diagnostic charge was also a bit high compared to other shops in the area ($180). Was more so frustrated with the extra "shop supplies" charge, which came out to $90 (half the price of the services) and isn't itemized, even though my car was only there for a few hours and all they did was diagnose the issue. I can't imagine what supplies would cost that much for a diagnostic appointment. For future customers, I hope Honest1 might consider reworking their pricing system so that those charges can be clarified on the invoice, or just integrate the cost into their services so it's not a mystery line item with no justification. Also, it would be great to have higher transparency around the average cost of those supplies for regular servicing appointments/common diagnostic tests/etc. Thanks for your kindness, but I cannot recommend due to their lack of clarity around the charges, which can only be viewed after they take your credit card to process the transaction. read more

Great place with awesome service! We were taking our vehicle to Toyota but there prices and service had gone down hill. We tried Honest 1 and could not be happier with the service. Liz was so helpful and even gave us a discount even though we didn't have a coupon. Amanda even gave my wife a ride home since we had the plumber coming out to our house. The waiting area and bathroom were pristine and even had snacks and drinks. Liz went over our inspection and did not try to upsell us on anything. I'm someone that knows 0 about cars. I had a tire actively going flat, I could hear it leaking and not driveable. I stopped in and asked if there was anyone that could take a look at it really quick to tell me what to do and Liz told me no one can help me without an appointment. Honest one I don't think so this place is one of the biggest rip-offs in town you won't get out of there unless you're bill is $1,000, that's what it cost me for a radiator flush, I was in total shock when they told me $1,000 they came up with all kind of things wrong and my car only has 45,000 miles on it please beware just saying and if you're broke down and desperate then you're in trouble you're better off getting it towed out of there getting very hard to find honest mechanics anymore but let me tell you these guys are professional rip offs it's like they're reading from a book, they love to take advantage of people from out of town like during bike week my friend brought his truck in there for ball joints they charged him almost $5,000 don't be tempted by the free donuts and a ride home, yes I paid $1,000 they changed a little elbow on my motor right in the front I guess to make it look like they did some work I was only there to get my radiator flushed honest one I don't think so, it wasn't Ormond Beach it was South that's why you didn't find it Daytona read more

got a $960 estimate to do rear brakes and replace rotors on the rear only. Front brakes were not being touched. This broke down on the written estimate to roughly $680 for parts and $280 for labor. I bought the parts at Oriely auto parts instead for $240. This included 2 new rotors, 2 pads 2 caliper pins and their little dust jacket). Me and my neighbor did the break job. Took us 2 hours. My issue was not the quoted labor fee, it was the 300% markup on parts. That markup is absurd, and while not precisely dishonest, it is absolutely price gouging. Watch out for this place on their parts price gouging. read more

I had the weekend of a nightmare. My car got stuck on 95 in the pitch dark with a messed up alternator, thankfully. Honest one Auto care was absolutely the best to be honest if they were in my area, I would recommend them to absolutely everyone I worked with Liz, Michelle and Bryton. When I say the service I received was absolutely wonderful and remarkable I am not Kidding, they are honestly the best people I have ever worked with from the hospitality and the transportation the caring and ultimate understanding of our situation was handled amazingly from these three I honestly would've never been able to get through this whole situation mentally or emotionally if it were not for them they took care of absolutely everything and the most awesome part about it was not only did they tell me what was wrong they showed me what was wrong and an 18 page PDF file documenting everything they've done what needed to be done immediately and things that I need to look out for for the future attached with that were photos that they took of what was wrong what they checked, and whether it was good or not, I have never worked with a company, so reliable their name definitely equals out to who and what they do and what they are Anybody who is in the Ormond Beach area if you have any issues, please go see them. I went in for an oil change brake check and 38 point inspection. I was told my air conditioner was running warm and that was an issue. I drove home 5 miles and the next day was heading to Jacksonville airport to go overseas. My car broke down 15 miles in. I pulled over open the hood and there was radiator fluid all over the hood of my car. There was no radiator cap. I called them and was told that the car came in with no radiator cap. However, when I pick the car up was told nothing about the car not having a radiator cap and they denied that it was them that didn't replace it. I will be consulting a lawyer regarding this matter. them $153 plus the tow was another $70. AAA only pays for 5 miles and I don't know what the damages are to my car as of yet. read more

I have been going there for a few years with no issues. I recommended them to a family member visiting from out of state, who was experiencing a check engine light that came on. I made an appointment for them, explained situation to service advisor. We dropped vehicle off in the AM, was told a couple of hours. Five hours later I called to check, they had not performed the diagnostics yet. Was told they closed at 6 PM. At 5:30 called again, no answer. We drove there, the vehicle was locked inside gate, doors locked. So sorry I recommended this business, and I will never do business with them again! Very poor communication from the service advisor. INCOMPETENCE OR DISHONESTY? I'm sorry to say it appears to be one or the other. I brought my Navigator To Honest-1 Ormond because of the great reviews and management's comments under reviews that they tend to save customers 20-25% below dealers' costs. After my experience, I challenge whether these reviews are from actual customers. I brought it in for an oil change; estimate to replace a burnt running board motor; and an odd mechanical sound emanating from the right rear when braking (not a brake noise, but a "Clanging" when letting up on the brake). The first red flag was a $110 diagnostic charge for the running board, which is not taken off the repair if the work is done, it's just a diagnostic. I already knew the motor was bad, but that's how they roll, so I agreed, thinking I'd save with the repair vs. dealer. The service manager, Jeff, was kind enough to come outside while I drove in the parking lot to replicate the noise from the right rear. He agreed that it was odd but his team would figure it out. He mentioned he was a former Ford/Lincoln service advisor. A few hours later he called with the following info: Running board motor needs replacing. $1621 (plus the $110). I told him that was way more than the dealer. Hold off. Noise in rear? Wheel bearings shot. Needs new wheel bearing assemblies- both sides. $1600! I was floored due to two things- I couldn't believe the cost, and more importantly, it did not seem like a wheel bearing noise to me. I told him I would call him back. I went online and the most expensive assembly I could find (OEM) was $500 a side. Aftermarket considerably less. I called the service advisor @ Gary Yeomans and asked for a quote on the running board motor and the wheel bearings. As noted above, both were significantly less. I also told her that I wasn't sure that the bearings were the culprit, so I made an appointment for the next day. Went and picked up my truck from H1. Next day the the dealer called me back. WHEEL BEARINGS ARE FINE. IT WAS MISSING A BRAKE CALIPER BOLT. $8. Replaced both to be safe lol. The dealer could have easily told me I needed wheel bearings since it's plausible that the bearings were bad plus needing the bolt (when she wrote it up she mentioned it had been diagnosed as needing bearings so those were checked). Looks like they are the Honest 1's. When you pull the wheel off, the FIRST THING YOU SEE is that huge caliper. The bolt is facing you on the top half of the rotor. There is no way you CAN'T see the missing bolt, especially since they checked the brakes for wear (supposedly). It wasn't loose- it was gone. So, as I said- either they are grossly incompetent to miss that, OR the obvious- let's replace expensive parts that are not needed and add the bolt. Fixed! Ironically, I said to Jeff at drop off that years ago the caliper bolt on the left side had vibrated out and he mentioned another car he had seen that happen to recently. So we discussed the actual issue before inspection. Oil change; diagnostic; air filter $180- after various coupons and discounts. Their oil changes are the same price as the dealer, but the dealer adds tire rotation and car wash. No savings, just a wasted day and I will NOT be using this facility for obvious reasons. BTW the owner sends a flowery email asking for feedback after the service. I waited until I had my truck back and called her at the number provided to share this experience. It's simply the shop number, not a direct line. When I asked for her I was told she was not there, and is there very rarely. I responded to her email with my phone number. read more
