The setup is a little similar to chipotle but the food and dressings all taste like 10X better!! I forgot which bowl I got, but it was the first option on their menu! So when you walk in, you will see it right away! Tell them to add the chicken! Trust me, you'll regret not adding their flavorful chicken!! The staff handle your food with tender loving care! This place looked fairly new! They treat you with such high respect especially if you're in uniform or an emergency service uniform! Although they don't give service member discounts. I loved how bright and cheery the establishment looked! It was very clean and they have 2 juices you can pick from. You can choose their green or ginger lemon juice! I quite preferred their ginger lemon juice! Fresh pressed!!!! Back to the food, full of veggies and packed full up flavorful protein! This place is excellent for a nice lunch getaway from your work! Got a bowl there recently using an app called Too Good To Go. Bowl was good and it definitely was nice to eat healthy on that app for a change. Only bummer is staff wouldn't make the food until the pickup time, so I had to sit there a bit. I have been making a point of visiting as many businesses I can during COVID that I've received free perks from in the past. About a year ago, I was honored to be invited to Honest Mary's soft opening, and since I was donating blood about three minutes away yesterday on North Lamar (and they always say to make your next meal a big one!), I dropped in here for an iron-rich bowl. Everything I remembered from my last visit is still true today -- generous portions of super fresh, healthy food. I ordered the Sedona Lime bowl with steak. The combination of sweet potato, rice, fresh spinach, black beans, pumpkin seeds and perfectly seasoned steak topped with a creamy lime sauce was exactly what I needed. I got the sesame, some thing and lime cream some thing and they were both super Duper good. I ate them in two separate meals because the bowl was so packed. I'm committed to going back and trying this place again and will update the review accordingly. But there's just some factors I can't get past, thus I wanted to write the initial review ASAP. I was pretty elated that this was coming into my neighborhood, quick little walk over and boom, I'm stuffing my face full of a bowl of healthy goodies. Who wouldn't want that? Nicely designed space, pleasant staff members which did a great job explaining everything. Here we go with the Food.... Ordered the Aloha Poke bowl, no modifications besides asking for extra Jalapeños - I'm always in need of spicy everything. The fish wasn't edible, extremely chewy/tough... Fatty (not in the good way). A few bites you could tell were past their prime and if you let say Mackerel sit out, that's the rancid profile you would get. Other ingredients in the bowl were fine, but not sure how you could really mess those up preparation wise etc... bottom line - ended up throwing half the bowl out. Like I said, I will totally go back and try the steak bowl most likely - and update the review immediately after. I've had Honest Mary's in my bookmarks for a pretty long time now, so I was glad to finally go and cross it off my list. I really didn't like the food. I'm a huge fan of similar healthy places like Flower Child, but Honest Mary's didn't do it for me. The bowl was extremely underwhelming. I got poke, and it didn't taste very fresh at all. I also dislike how they only allow you to get one sauce, and it was impossible to try beforehand. The sauce I got didn't go with my bowl, and I ended up leaving over half of it uneaten. It seems like Honest Mary's has a decent following, but I wouldn't come back. It's not worth the price, and I can get better healthy food elsewhere. It definitely is a cute space, though. read more

I'm not sure what I would change about my visit or what I ordered, so that's why we're at 5 stars. My friend said "Honest Mary's never disappoints". We got the Aloha Poke and ordered online on our way to pick up. The restaurant was not open due to COVID, so they had our food sitting in a bag with the door open. I just walked up, took my food, and left. Was there less than a minute which makes it a perfect on-the-go stop. This meal was delicious and it fills you up. Given the healthfulness of the food, and ingredients packed with nutrients, you're full but not stuffed and bloated afterwards. I love knowing I'm eating organic, gluten and dairy free, and overall just quality food. That's worth the money to me. Also hand-line caught Ahi Tuna makes a lot of difference. And, we got their Agua Fresca (Cucumber Honey) and my friend said "it's the best I've ever had." Thanks for quality, HM! read more

A tastier and local option if you are into build-your-own bowl meals. The grilled chicken is naturally raised and you can definitely taste the difference. I am a fan of quinoa and their tri-colored quinoa is a great base. They have other base options such as basmati rice or forbidden rice. If you are looking to cut carbs, they have spinach and arugula. You can mix and match additional bases for $1 more. They also have a good selection of sides and toppings. My favorites are the roasted brussels sprouts and Asian slaw. As for the dressing, they are all good. I recently tried the apple cider vinaigrette and was pleasantly surprised that it had a creamy texture; more like a dipping sauce. They even have a couple of kombuchas on tap - or if you want something harder - I did see a couple of wines and coffee on tap. The inside looks great and there is some solo seating by the window so you can look out into the neighborhood. They even have an outdoor patio if you want more of an alfresco environment. As for recycling, I applaud that their bowls are compostable. In fact, they have signs by the trash to let you know which bin to put the compostables in. read more

Restaurant reviews are more challenging in pandemic times. This one is a few months dated (October-ish), but still relevant. It is so far a one-outing experience. As part of a socially-distanced dinner at a friends house, I picked up dinner from Honest Mary's. Really impressed with the food being bagged, clearly marked, and already waiting outside when I arrived a couple minutes early. That's like next-to-zero risk. Points for all-organic and hormone-free ingredients for starters. I ordered a chicken-based BYOB with black forbidden rice, roasted carrots, sliced avocado, and black beans. The food was very wholesome, but light on flavor. I did expect the order to fill the bowl more than it did (less than half-full by volume). Also, I must admit the chicken portion was a tad on the skimpy side. Very safe dining experience and I totally look forward to going back here again someday. read more

We're big fans of Honest Mary's, but every time we're in the Burnet area, we usually go across the street to another favorite restaurant. Finally decided to check this location out and we loved it! There was no line, staff were super friendly, parking is easy, and I love to take my daughter to the kid's clothing store next door. Wins all around. The Sedona Lime Bowl is our favorite. Love the new location! Pros: *I personally love grain bowls. They're like a salad served warm, but somehow way more filling. Kind of like how a smoothie bowl is more filling than a smoothie even though it's basically the same thing. *Tons of healthy options. It's set up Chipotle style, except instead of high sodium burrito fillings, it's mostly lean proteins, grains and veggies. *I like that they put the dressing on the side by default. Everyone's dressing preferences are personal. It lets me be me. Cons: *Price is the obvious place you'll notice a difference from similar assemble-as-you're-ordering restaurants. They're mostly organic, but you'd have to skip the protein (Farmer's Market bowl) to keep your meal under $10 before drink. On the plus side, they do 5 Stars rewards, so bonus freebies if you're a regular. Also, it's cashless, which I view as neither pro nor con, because I rarely pay with cash unless there's a discount over credit, such as at the occasional liquor store. I've seen several cities start to ban cashless restaurants, which I personally don't understand. Are they going to ban Uber because you can only pay through the app? We felt extremely full (and healthy) after eating our bowls from Honest Mary's last night. These bowls were stuffed with protein, veggies, and toppings, with enough options to satisfy all different types of eaters. All of the veggies tasted extremely fresh - I tried their beets, squash, and edamame. Pro tip - definitely take a look at the menu before you go, because I spent a lot of time in line ordering, trying to pick the right combo of things (thankfully it was pretty empty when we visited and no one was behind me)! OR - pick one of their signature bowls, which are really nice mixes of all their best ingredients. My partner loved his Seasonal Signature Bowl which had butternut squash, lentils, and kale. read more

I got the poke bowl and the guy just dumped a ridiculous amount of slaw and almost half a head of pickled onion in my bowl. The photo is after I picked off most of it and put it to the side. Didn't expect the tuna to be amazing, so i already knew that it wouldn't be top tier fresh fish. Couldve made the slices for the tuna slightly smaller. They were slightly too big to eat in a bite. I could tell staff was still getting used to the flow of things. Some were kind of getting trained while we were ordering. Also, an extra scoop of tuna in my bowl was $5. It felt steep for really not that much more. And price for meat extras were not listed on the menu as far as I saw. read more

Honest Mary's is a great restaurant and business. We pick up their delicious bowls at least once a week. We always love the fresh ingredients and flavor. What really stood out for me is that last time my husband was dissatisfied. He had requested no arugula , goat cheese and something else. That evening the person who made it gave us a minimal bowl not adding more of the other ingredients. I sent in a review. They were amazing. Sent us a gift card and totally apologized. So, I made a delivery to this place the other day, and I walked in, and it smelled so good and the staff was friendly, so I decided to go here for lunch a couple of days later. Bottom line... The food is really really good, but the overall experience I would only give three stars because of the following: between the noise in the kitchen, the music playing, the masks that the staff are wearing, and the Plexiglass, I couldn't hear a word anyone was saying to me behind the line. Anytime someone spoke to me I had to ask them self to repeat what they said the second or third time. Also, we wanted beer or wine with our lunch and were told that they didn't have either. As it turned out, they did have one beer available, so my wife got it. I wanted wine, but they didn't have any, even though they advertise that they have wine, so I had a iced tea instead. But the food was absolutely outstanding. We both got the poblano bowl, and all of the ingredients were fresh and delicious.
