Even though it was outside it still felt private. I ordered the salted caramel macchiato and the chicken pecan salad sandwich which came with an arugula salad. The coffee was ok. I was hoping to like the flavor more. But that could just be me as I don't drink coffee and when I do it's usually sugary coffee. This one is obviously healthy so that could be it. Still, I expected more. But the sandwich and salad made up for it!! I read mixed reviews about the sandwich and was hesitant to order. But I would get it again it was soooo good!! Filling, not heavy yet didn't feel hungry after. The salad was surprisingly amazing. It had a vinaigrette that was very delicious. I went on a Saturday during brunch. Was hoping to be able to order regular tacos but they only offered breakfast tacos. So would love to come back when it isn't brunch. The interior was beautiful as I had to walk inside to use the restroom. The restroom was tiny though. We were piled in there waiting for 3 stalls to become open. I can't believe I haven't been here sooner!! The Well has been on my radar, but when I was attending a show at ACL Live during SXSW, this was the perfect opportunity. I was with a friend that is vegan and I suggested here for dinner. We looked at the menu and agreed to try it! We shared the Thai Lettuce Wraps V $15: local mushroom, organic, mint, organic wild grain trio, ginger, fresno and organic jalapeno, local gem lettuce, cashew. They were SO flavorful and delicious, however 4 small lettuce leaves were not enough. We asked for more and got 4 more small leaves, which they charged us $2 for. I do think that's a bit crazy. I would order this app again though! We each tried the Coconut Curry Squash for dinner- V $22 - local seasonal squash medley, seasonal bell pepper, heirloom cherry tomato, pepitas, sesame seeds, organic heirloom grain trio. I didn't know the grains would be so similar to the lettuce wraps, so next time I would get one or the other. I loved this curry though - WOW. It tasted like fall. So fresh and delicious. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable. I had a glass of garnacha and my friend had a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. My glass was $15 on the menu but I was charged $17 on my bill. Really sad to say I just had an extremely disappointing delivery experience with the Well via DoorDash. I ordered the steak sandwich, which I ordered via delivery just a month or two ago and absolutely LOVED back when I got it then. I remember it being packed with tons of steak, with amazing bread, and tons of flavor. I'm newly postpartum and breastfeeding so I wanted something with a ton of protein and flavor. This sandwich was a huge disappointment. There was literally one thin slice of steak on the entire sandwich and it was about 50% fat. It was also inedibly salty but lacked any flavor besides salt. The bread was also thin, cold, dense, and stale. The whole meal was borderline inedible and for almost $30, it's so so disappointing. Hoping this was just a fluke as I really appreciate their commitment to nutritious, quality ingredients. But for the price (and really any price...), this meal was a huge miss :( read more

Edison was my server and made sure to let me know what foods I would have to ask for substitutes for for corn. The restaurant offers cassava tortillas for an additional charge for their tacos, and the chips served with the ceviche were grain free. I started with the ceviche and had the chicken for my main course. The portions were generous and I wound up taking half the chicken back with me. I ordered a side of bread and butter to go, but ate a piece while waiting for dessert because it was still warm. The bread was crusty outside and soft inside, like a traditional sourdough. Not crumbly at all. I chose the peach crisp with coconut ice cream for dessert. It had a nice cinnamon flavor and wasn't too sweet. As a single diner without a reservation I was seated on the patio. I hesitated for a minute because I am not accustomed to 98°F, but the patio was shady and there was a light breeze which made things comfortable. I am so glad I made the time to eat at The Well. Just knowing that everything was gluten free was such a relief. A repeat visit to one of our favorite places in Austin that caters to healthy eating and people with food restrictions. Nothing on the menu is made with gluten, dairy, seed oils, soy or peanuts. It is not a vegan restaurant, as there are plenty of menu options with fish, chicken, and beef. We started with the Bees Knees, Hibiscus Martini and Old Fashioned for cocktails. Everyone enjoyed their drinks, but I found my Hibiscus Martini especially refreshing and festive for the holidays. Our appetizers were the guacamole and chips, which are always a hit with the unique combination of pomegranate seeds and jalapeños added to the lime and avocado, and the Thai lettuce wraps with chicken. These also have a twist with the shiitake mushrooms and spices. Our main courses were the salmon with spinach & Kale, spinach pesto pasta (made with chickpeas), taco flight and curried squash with a grain trio. Everyone was extremely pleased with their meals, but the favorites were the pasta and the curried squash. Have come here a couple times now, usually for special occasions like birthdays or holidays. Phenomenal every time. I'm a huge health nut so I super appreciate places like this that serve truly clean food with clean ingredients. I just came here on Valentine's Day with my husband and it was lovely. The ambience is such a vibe, the staff is so friendly, and they even validate parking in certain parking garages! Which is a total life saver, especially when you're parking downtown. My husband and I love their Brussels sprouts, and we just got their fingerlings yesterday and we were blown away, omg. DELISH. I am vegetarian/vegan, so my options are slightly more limited but I am utterly obsessed with their pesto pasta! And so far, from the deserts I've tried (the avocado mousse and the cobbler), they're so clean and a total hit each time. The left feeling satisfied and full but not overstuffed, which is majorly appreciated. Oh and let's not forget NOT bloated (for all my sensitive digestion girlies out there). Highly recommend.
