Came here on a Friday afternoon to catch up with a friend. Visited here from California as I heard the hype of this place. Coming in you see so many seating options whether you wanna sit indoors or outdoors, they give you a choice. You go to the front and order your food and pay for it right away and they give you a number so they could bring the food to your table. My friend and I watched ordered an entree and I had to add a drink in to try it. Brisket & Eggs- really good! It was not salty and it was a perfect balance! I ordered mine with a soft scrambled and lowkey I should've gotten the sunny side up eggs. The brisket was moist and not salty like other brisket I have had. Along with the grits on the bottom, it was creamy and light. Overall a great dish. Blood Orange Lalo-ma- on a hot day in Texas, this is a must have! For food, I got the hot chicken sandwich with fries. After ordering up front, you are given a number and have to claim a table. Food came out pretty quick. The hot chicken was cooked nicely and the fries were a nice potato to fry ratio. Of course you have to add honey mustard to make the fries go on another level. I have been here twice and only gotten salads each visit. Once was a cobb salad and the other time was a chicken Caesar salad and the chicken was breaded/fried (crispy). The vegetables were fresh and bursting with flavor. Everything was good. My boyfriend has had the chicken and biscuits and he really liked them. Coffee and matcha were both excellent, and the food was fresh and well-prepared. We ordered the buttermilk pancakes (they also have a gluten-friendly option) and the smoked salmon avocado toast -- both were delicious. It's a counter service setup, which wasn't obvious from the outside. You order at the counter and they bring your food to the table. The only hiccup was when someone in our group asked for a side of scrambled eggs. The cashier asked "how many," and he assumed they meant how many eggs, but they meant how many orders -- so we accidentally ended up with two sides. It was a little loud, and probably just a mix-up, but something to be aware of when ordering. Overall though, a solid brunch spot with fresh ingredients and a chill vibe. I love that this place almost always has seating available whenever you stop in. I'm a huge fan of their pancakes. I also really like their Lalo-ma cocktail. I ordered their chocolate chip cookie the other day and it was so good! It had a sprinkle of sea salt on top that added a great contrast to the sweet chocolate chips.
