So happy they brought the Honest franchise to Irving. The food here was great. My family ordered the Cheese Mysore Masala Dosa, Pav Baji, and Chole Puri. All of the dishes were great, but my favorite was the Dosa. When ordering the Chole, I would suggest getting Puri instead of Bhature. The Bhature at Honest are more thick. My family rarely eats out at Indian restuarants since we can just cook at home, but we loved Honest! The dahi chaat was delicious, the dosa was perfectly cooked with good aloo and the mango lassi wasn't overly sweet. The paneer tikka was our favorite, and it had a little more spice to it. The sandwiches except for Bahubali and Kattapata are overly priced. I find it's better priced at Bombay Chowpatty for the same kind/quantity. chaats are good but pulavs are again overpriced especially when there are tons of surrounding South Indian restaurants serving pulses/biryanis/fried rice for reasonable price. Attached photo for the quantity. Honest is actually a dhaba back in India(affordable by truck drivers and open all night), here it's just a rip off. I would prefer going to Bombay Chowpatty for similar items and reasonable pricing. For rice varieties, any nearby South Indian authentic restaurant works. read more

Honest restaurant was 'honestly' delicious. It was great comfort knowing it was vegetarian so sharing plates was not an issue for us. The manchow soup and Chinese bhel was very comforting full of flavor. It tasted like the indochinese plates from India. I would highly recommend the sandwiches as well and ask for the two top rated ones. If you like spicy--go higher than medium as their spice level is not as high as I would expect. I have been a patron of honest restaurant in McKinney for a long time. I love the food. I was very excited that they opened a branch in Irving because it would save me a long drive from Dallas. But I was immensely disappointed by the quality of food and the service. They didn't have Dabeli on the menu at all. We ordered Bhel. It was dry, soggy . It seemed like it was made hours ago. So no stars for the bhel for sure. We also ordered 4 plates of bhaji pav, dahi puri, vada pav and Honest special sandwich . - Dahi Puri was nothing compared to the one in McKinney. It was a disappointment. - Vadapav had thick sev ( crunchy noodles) in the bread. This is a big No No for vadapav. - Honest special sandwich is offered only as GRILLED in their menu. The sandwich was not served for almost an hour. 4 different people came and asked us and we told each of them that we are still waiting on the sandwich. Each of them told us that it should be served in a few minutes . 30 min later, here comes the sandwich . But guess what - it's not grilled !! So we told the server it's not grilled . She says ' can I take this back?' (It's Covid time. Why would you want to do that? ) So then she brings her Manager in and he initially offers to grille the one that they served us . The thought of them taking the food back into the kitchen was disgusting . We asked to remake a new one . So he told us ' that will take 20-30 minutes more' . He seemed hesitant but since we were already waiting for almost 2 hours, we said that's fine. As a courtesy he even told us that the non grilled one will not be charged . We appreciated the gesture. Then we waited another 10-15 minutes for our check. And guess what?! We were charged for the sandwich twice!!! So now we again wait to get that sorted . It was almost as if I went for a French dinner that takes hours. Lol . But it was worse than the mediocre food on chowpatty in India in terms of quality, taste and service. For the amount of time i spent here , I could have gone to McKinney twice and eaten the good food that Honest usually delivers. Food is good. Service is good. They have no sense of social distancing and it is not covid safe. They seated us right in between two other families when there was plenty of room at the restaurant. Five kids without any masks were running around and one was crawling on the floor. One of the fathers of the kid was walking around without a mask. Went for Dinner on 12/7. We ordered some indian chinese, Schezwan fried rice, and 2 noodle dishes. First thing you notice the serving size is ridiculously small for the price they charge. I would be forgiving if the taste was out of the blue, but you probably can watch a youtube video and make better dishes. I wouldnt recommend eating indian chinese. We order a Dabbang dosa as well, which was fine. The guy asked if we would like bottled water, we said yes. It was not on the menu, so our mistake we assume it was complimentary. The restaurant is spacious and clean. Service was great as well. Staff was attentive and able to answer our questions - especially since the menu isn't very descriptive. A tip though - they bring out the food as it's prepared. There is no concept here of bringing everyone's food at the same time - though I suppose you could make the request. The best approach though is to order family style so everyone can eat at once and try different things. We had the dry Manchurian which was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside - just how it should be. We ordered the Honest special pav bhaji - it was good but a little too rich with the cashews/raisins and butter. We prefer the regular pav bhaji. The Bahubali sandwich was easily the winner from our table order. Everyone loved it. It's a surprising list of ingredients but the flavors balance out really well.
