We found this place by accident. Went to have brunch at a place in the same shopping center and for some reason they just weren't open. No rhyme or reason, not even a note on the door. The listed hours were simply not respected. We went over to Maacs to give it a try. I honestly don't know what to call this place? Sports bar? Dive Bar? It's definitely not a European Pub. The service was fantastic, and response. You can tell they knew all of the customers and what they'd want. Just about everything on the menu is done there in house. Not the traditional "Sysco guy gave us a box of frozen fried stuff and told us to put on the menu they are handmade". It's remarkably cozy for what it is. The only ding I can really give it is why we loved our food and had no complaints, it wasn't strong enough for me to crave. If I lived closer, I'd probably be there regularly. read more

This is one of the best dives in Dallas! It's super low key and hella affordable. Krystiana (I know I'm spelling this correctly) was our server on a Saturday afternoon. She was literally the only employee out front besides the cooks. She was handling the bar and providing exceptional table service to our very large party of 16. There were also other customers in the building that she was attended too. She was amazing! Now for the food, my appetizer was queso with taco meat, it was very good and came out fast. This place is a straight up bar with bar food, not that there is anything wrong with that, just know what you are getting... In fact I many ways there is a little charm to the place. The first thing you will notice about this place is the service. The ladies they have waiting tables are fun, friendly, and helpful. They are casual and informal, which helps them connect with their customers. I ordered the sliders and was impressed. They were a little dry, but tasty. About a minute or two less on the grill and they would have been amazing. My friends all got wings and described the as "pretty good". The waitress brought me a menu and told me a little bit about the bar. It's my understanding that many of the customers here are regulars. That became more evident the longer I sat there. Reminded me of "Cheers". Everybody knows your name. Was not sure what I wanted, I ordered the small basket of breaded pickles. They came out fast! I decided on the Slider burgers which gives you a sampling of their three top favorites, the mushroom slider by far was my favorite. Unbeknownst to me, it came with a choice of onion rings or fries. Way too much fried foods for me. My fault. More then enough food at a great price. They have a covered outdoor area to eat and noticed this area is dog friendly. That's always a plus for me. That says a lot about a business that is animal friendly! Everyday they offer some type of special on their menu. They also have $3.50 shots on Wednesday. Come for the food, not the ambiance. This place is randomly located in a strip mall with various ethnic cuisines. It's literally a hole in the wall, sports bar kind of place. I was in the mood for a burger and fries and this seemed like an affordable option. I sat at the bar and went for the mushroom Swiss burger with fries, not bad for $7.99! Maacs Grill is a community sports bar with friendly faces & great atmosphere. These people starting from the owner (Mr. Masood) & staff (Kailey was amazing in her job) here are super friendly & treat you like friends & family. Just like any other spots bar, it gets crowded on Friday nights but never too loud. On Saturdays they have karaoke nights which are cool and fun to be & see amazing local talent. Food is really good. Try Cajun wings they are super tasty. During my visits since 2015, I have tried their Buffalo chicken wings, fries, sample platters , sandwiches/burgers & also cheese cake. Everything was just amazing!! I have received free stuff as well on various occasions, we order for one and they get us two.( recently went there to get some traditional bone in wings, but Kailey, the one taking care of us mentioned they ran out of bone in & offered us boneless wings but when she got our food, she got us 10 huge chicken joints). Quality & quantity is standard. No complaints at all. Always get bone in wings. Boneless wings sometimes are smaller and seem like nuggets. They have an elaborate menu & are very reasonably priced. After getting hung up on the first time I decided to call back to make my order. I asked for a fish plate with two extra fish. I walked in paid, got my food, no "thank you have a nice day" or anything from the bartender. (First problem) After getting home I realized for that extra 2 pieces of fish I was charged and entire 8 dollars as if I had received two fish plates with fries. Picture and receipt attached at the bottom of this review for clarity. So basically I would have been better off getting two fish plates with fries. This place customer service use to be pretty good but they are overcharging and do not appreciate business i guess. Hope they make it through this economy because that was my last time going. I tried this place for the first time through UberEats. The menu selection was pretty big. It seems like it's a bar and grill and so they have a large drink menu. I on the other hand was at work and couldn't drink for one, but also burning calories like crazy and craving meat so I would have loved to do the burger and shake thing but they didn't have any shakes. I ordered the Honey BBQ burger with fries. It arrived about an hour later. When I checked it out the tomatoes and lettuce were soggy but I was impressed that the bun held up anyway, nice! The first thing I noticed was the burger patty was too big for the bun. This is a personal pet peeve of mine as I don't like my hands getting sticky when eating. Also, what irritates me about restaurants doing this is that they are trying to impress you with the size of the burger spilling out. Just get a bigger bun, dammit! Now that that's out of the way, let's get down to it. This burger IS big! Once I removed the soggy tomatoes I really enjoyed it. It was incredibly juicy, not just from the sauce, but the patty itself. It was thick and not overdone. The cheddar was melted into the meat and there were bacon bits on it but it brought a good texture to the burger. The sauce smelled and tasted really good. As I said the bun was thick enough to hold up to the juices. The fries were seasoned but I didn't pay them much attention. I could have just purchased the burger by itself but I got the combo for just under $8 because I like to eat sides with my meals. I like to eat fries with my burgers but today the burger held my attention. I had maybe 4 or 5 fries but still couldn't quite finish 2/3 of the burger. Besides the fries were a little limp from delivery. If memory serves, I think the burger by itself was just over $6 and it's big so it's well worth the price. I'm still really full over five hours later writing this review! I wouldn't order through UberEats again because there were no add on options for this particular restaurant- such as adding cheese to a burger that didn't have it. I would be willing to try it in person if I am ever in the area though! read more

Found this place via Yelp search when looking for a burger place near a friend's office. It's in a strip mall right next to one of my favorite Indian joints, Our Place. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, with the latter being split between (mostly) uncovered and covered. We decided to sit outside since it was a nice day. I ordered the Bleu Cheese Burger with sweet potato fries, and I sample onion rings from my friend's basket. The burger was somewhat in the Smashburger style, with a purposely loosely formed patty. It needed a little seasoning and was a bit too done, but was still OK on moisture. The cheese and bacon was a bit sparse but tasty. Overall, a serviceable burger. Sweet potato fries were about average, but went well with ketchup. Onion rings were again, about average but were crispy and tasted good. This place really does have a neighborhood bar feel, nothing wrong with that. read more

Terrible food. Ordered wings to go because I heard they had 50 cent wings on Sundays. The wings were way undercooked and my French fries tasted like they were 3 days old. The wings were so undercooked that the skin was still slimy and weren't even browned from being fried. They were so slimy that i had to cook them for an additional 20 minutes in my air frier when i got home. Wish I could get my money back!!! Please don't give them the time of day!!! The service was good, as my wife and I tried out first time for lunch. She got a sandwich but asked if she could get something else other than fries. She got another side, but I noticed on bill they charged for that, which was never mentioned. I ordered the boneless wings/chicken, but broke 2 plastic forks trying to eat it and plastic knife was challenge cutting also, plus it was not good. My wife said her sandwich was good. The prices were reasonable, but plastic forks and knives, gimme a break. We agreed to scratch this off our future list. I factored in the upcharge as her tip. How I have not already written a sterling review about Maac's?! My boyfriend and I have been regulars here ever since one fateful night we stumbled in "just to check it out." We ended up sitting at the bar and having a hilarious conversation with the owner, and it was some of the most delicious bar food we had ever had. Aside from the AMAZING "loaded tots" (queso, bacon and jalapeños) and scrumptious hamburgers, they are actually "known," or as "known" as you can be in Irving, for their chicken. I have had it in their wraps, salads and the plain ole tenders and it is FANTASTIC. Not only better than what you'd expect, but my favorite when I have a fried/greasy craving. Their drink specials are also extremely well priced. Wells and margs are always $3.50, and domestic pitchers are $9. Super fun atmosphere with plenty of TVs for the sports fan in your group. This place is one where you could go alone or with a big group and still have a great experience. Indoor seating as well as an outdoor patio are available. We are moving closer to Dallas next week, and tonight we went back to say "goodbye..." But I think we both know it will most definitely be a "see ya later." We went to celebrate my nephew's 24th Birthday. We had a large group and they made room for us. The place is small but they mad accommodations for ten people and a toddler. Watching the people do karaoke was so much fun. Our waitress was attentive and she was super nice. I would give it a five for that experience alone but I have to be honest the wings were just okay. To be honest they were hard. But I enjoyed myself so much that hard wings didn't take away from my experience. If you want a place to do karaoke on Saturday and you don't mind traveling to the Irving/ Las Colinas-Valley Ranch area, you should try it. And don't forget about crown and down Wednesday! read more
