    Pancake breakfast extra crispy!
    Anlee G.

Food and service are always A1. Today was the first time I dined in, and the service was quick and friendly Annie was our servicer she was friendly and warm. I got the Pancake breakfast with fried eggs and hash browns (ask to have your pancakes crispy, thank me later ) my husband had the same order and adding there award winning biscuits and gravy. Honey I'm Home is a must try when in Pismo beach.

    Love the mug..

Rarely do I order breakfast without reaching for the salt and pepper shakers. Eggs and potatoes almost always need a little help. Same with biscuits and gravy. Im used to adding pepper, a shot of Tabasco or Tapatio, and then asking for extra gravy because most places are pretty stingy with it. Honey Im Home completely broke that pattern for me. This was our first visit. The place is still pretty new, opened around July, and it is already hopping. Long cozy room, brick archway looking into the kitchen, big screens up front rolling relaxing travel scenes, and a steady buzz of locals and tourists. Their whole HIM branding is really clever. The menu, shirts and those tan coffee mugs all match up. The mugs have this beachy almost Hawaiian tiki vibe that fits Pismo and I kind of loved that. I started with the biscuits and gravy. The plate came out absolutely buried in sausage gravy. You could barely see the biscuits hiding underneath. Not only were they not stingy with it, the flavor was outstanding. They use a mix of regular breakfast sausage and some hot sausage so you get a rich peppery bite without needing to drown it in hot sauce. First time I can remember in a restaurant where I did not touch the salt, did not touch the pepper and never even reached for hot sauce. Seasoning was already dialed in. I also ordered the Chile Verde omelet with country potatoes. Big square plate, omelet stuffed full, Chile Verde and cheese spilling out the sides. The sauce worked perfectly with the eggs, plenty of flavor and a little kick but not so much that it killed the breakfast vibe. The country potatoes were real potatoes with some color on them, not pale or soggy, and again seasoned so well I never once looked around for the shakers. My wife went with the Mans Best Friend omelet and crispy hash browns. Same story there. The omelet was loaded with meat and cheese all the way through, none of that empty middle you get at some places. Her hash browns were cooked right to that sweet spot where they are crispy on the outside and still soft inside. She is picky and she could not find anything to complain about either. Back to the gravy for a second because it really does deserve its own shout out. My wife does not like gravy. Ever. She usually avoids it. She tried a bite of mine and actually said it was good. When someone who never likes gravy says the gravy is good, that speaks volumes. Service was excellent from start to finish. Coffee refills kept coming, food came out hot, and we never felt rushed even though they were clearly busy. There was a gentleman named Ed working the room who I believe is the owner. He has that kind of positive friendly energy that makes you want to chat for a minute. You can tell he cares about the place and the people eating there. Portions, flavor, freshness, temperature, quality, customer service, all of it was spot on. I almost always have at least one little critique when I write a review. This time I honestly do not. If someone offered me ten bucks to find something wrong I would have to give the money back. Pismo is a tourist town and I like touristy spots, but a lot of them are more about the scene than the food. Honey Im Home is the rare place that has both. It feels good to be there and the food is legit comfort food done right. If you are looking for a solid breakfast or brunch in Pismo that tastes like real down home cooking in the middle of a tourist strip, this is it. Strongest recommendation I can give.

Chili Verde, hash browns under the wheat toast.

I hardly ever go to Pismo as its usually too crowded. I wanted to try this place, so if I saw a line, I would go somewhere else. We lucked out, it was about 9:15 and we got a table. About 10 minutes later the place was full, which is a good sign. Coffee and water were served right away. The prices were very reasonable, but a 3% cost if you charge. Since we were local, Jen, our server gave us a discount. The place is small and none descriptive.. Everyone working there were hustling. I had the chili verde, good and spicy, with hash browns, just OK and some good wheat toast. My husband had ham, big piece, eggs over easy and and English muffin. I also had coffee that was pretty good. .

Unfortunately a large group of 10 or so was seated when we arrived and only one waitress on duty. Customer service was not good this morning as waitress would not even acknowledge people waiting to be seated at the door of this small diner. My wife and I witnessed at least a dozen or more customers waiting for several minutes to be seated and then leaving when they were ignored. We got the biscuits and gravy as the sign said best in town, but they were average at best and the other biscuits and gravy spot in town is much better. I found the biscuits below average. Chicken fried steak was pretty good and a good portion, but overall I do not recommend this place. I believe they are still working out the kinks at this location even after opening about six months ago, so perhaps it will get better.

Waitress on her phone, ignoring us.

Food was decent, basic dinner food. Not at all worth the waitress' attitude. All of us got our food beside my little brother, asked the waitress just Incase maybe his food got forgotten on accident and got told, "it's coming. I don't make the food I just bring it out." Lol, alright girl! She didn't check on us once and we had to wait 15 just for our check.

$10 Biscuits & Sausage gravy, scrambled egg, ham steak Special. ask for it

We visited for the first time and my Biscuits & Sausage Gravy *special was soooo excellent the best part was two healthy slices of hickory smoked ham steak. My wife had the Pancakes with Hash browns, eggs & bacon. It was so much food I " had to " eat one of her pancakes and some of the Hash Browns

    Crab cake eggs Benedict

Ordered the crab cake eggs Benedict and the eggs came back hard boiled. Very disappointing. Thankfully the waitress took it back and brought me the eggs made correctly, but it took so long it wasn't even worth it. There was hair in the water and our waitress was quite sassy. Wouldn't recommend or go back. Bummer because I was looking forward to it

Stopped in after my morning walk. Place was busy inside but waitress was helpful and greeted my promptly. I decided to sit outside since I was solo that morning. 2 tables outside for customers to sit. My food came out promptly. I ordered a small biscuits & gravy and a cup of coffee. The food was piping hot and delicious. Great flavor. The coffee was also hot. I didn't get the waitresses name but she was pleasant and made small chatter. I got a small discount for paying in cash. I will definitely return soon to try other items on the menu.

New authentic diner in downtown Pismo Beach called, "Honey I'm Home!" Gary started with peanut butter and jelly ice cream. This is their special ice cream company. He moved on to coffee ice cream. which he claimed was the best ever. I judge a diner on the Biscuits and Gravy, these exceeded my expectations! With dense sausage gravy, and grandmas biscuits. They came with scrambled eggs and peppered bacon, with a side of cottage cheese. All very satisfying. Gary ordered the Crab Benedict and he loved it. Chunks of crab with a celery and red pepper made this pop. His came with hash browns that were perfectly crispy. Service was warm and attentive and the chef came by and we talked about our next meal. We will be back! #Catfish #Buscuits #IceCream

Chicken fried steak, eggs and hash browns. The wife added biscuits and gravy on the side.

The food was off the chain. The chicken fried steak was the real deal and BIG. The buscuits and gravy was delicious too. The waitress rocked and we had to complement the cook for a wonderful breakfast.

A family owned business, open for breakfast and lunch and serving great home-cooked meals. We had to wait for a bit for a table; they have a pad and pen on the stand outside and you put your name and the number of your party on the pad. As spots open either inside or out, a young man would come over and scratch off the next in line. Once called, our server, Aaron, came over to offer drinks and see if we had any questions. It was busy and he was definitely working a large number of tables but at the same time he was attentive and pleasant. Wife had oatmeal with the addition of blueberries and nuts and I chose the hamburger patty with eggs over medium. The oatmeal was good, nothing out of the world and the berries were fresh...she had to ask for the nuts because they didn't come out initially. My breakfast was good...burger was thin and cooked through but not dry and the eggs were almost medium! Served with home fries, which I think were a bit greasy but tasty. Daughter and son-in-law had the strawberry waffle and she said it was tasty, malty, and fresh strawberries (not that gel-like goo some places cover their waffles with) and lots of fresh whip cream. They also ordered bacon, well done and it came without that well-done crispy way of cooking bacon. Overall a good, solid breakfast spot with good food. No pictures this time around...

Beachin' Biscuits had amazing reviews and I do love a good biscuit so I headed out to order some takeout. Super cute location with both indoor and outdoors seating. It was early, but there were a few customers already there eating their breakfast. The customer service was outstanding. The young man who took my order was really friendly and helped me decide what to order. I opted for the scrambled eggs that came with cheese on top the homemade house, potatoes, and an amazing biscuit. I also got the honey butter and the strawberry jam. My order came pretty quickly and off I went. Eggs - perfectly cooked and loved the addition of the cheese on top. Wasn't overpowering at all. Potatoes - I actually really loved these. They had a smoky flavor to them that was just delicious. Biscuit - this was one of the best biscuits I've ever had. It was light and buttery and just delicious. I could easily eat two or three of these myself. Thankfully, I only got one and shared it with Mom. The honey butter was delicious, but the star of the show was that strawberry jelly oh my goodness it's so good! 10 out of 10 I will be back!!

Most of the parking you will find is "paid parking "...ya sorry, I don't "pay" for parking...just not a "believer", I rather park farther away from a venue and enjoy the walk to and from. Lucky I didn't have to do that because just as I arrived at the restaurant another patron was leaving the small parking lot between Beachin Biscuits and Alex's BBQ ...amazing! The "order line" was out the door and all tables (first come first serve) were occupied by customers, but not to worry...the tables "turn over" pretty quickly and again, I got lucky and seating wasn't a problem (but it could be). The associate who took our order was cheerful and all associates were seemingly very busy. Our order: from the "Gravy Lovers" section...GNARLY BISCUIT SANDWICH (5/5 - truly a magnificent dish...and a great introduction to this restaurant's "best"), from the "Breakfast Burritos and Tacos" section...SUNRISE TACOS (5/5 - very tasty) and THE PABLO (4/5 - flavorful and a great "hand-held" food), from the Lunch Menu "Sandwiches" section...THE TIDE POOL w/Spicy mayo (3/5 - this was the "lowest rated offering"...wasn't hot/warm when it was served - felt like it had been left "standing for awhile" before being served...needed more spicy mayo and the chicken seemed "dry".), from the "Homemade Biscuit" section...BOARDWALK BITES (3.5/5 - really good when hot...but after a few minutes were very "dry" ...I should have had these w/coffee). The "value factor" is high here my dear Yelp Review Readers ...everyone had leftovers to "take with" and mine last 3 additional meals! Also (FYI) there is only 1 bathroom...so be prepared to "wait" if the need should arise. Nevertheless, all in all...the vibe is energetic and fun, parking isn't the best or pleasant, the food is, by enlarge, really good (recommend ordering an offering in which a biscuit plays an integral part...it is after all "Beachin Biscuits") and the service (for our experience) was good. On this occasion...in this Yelper's opinion, Beachin Biscuits is in fact "worth the hype" and truly earned this "highly recommend" 4.5 Star "we'll be back soon" review.
