Pleasant service and a kinda offbeat vibe, this little cafe has some really interesting offerings. I tried the Grover Beach Train Wreck, which was essentially a pile of fried potatoes topped with spicy chili topped with eggs (I did over easy), and then topped again with shredded cheese, chopped onion, and bacon. The server offered up some of their homemade green salsa from the back, which packed a major punch (and I say this as a spicy-seeker). Overall, the name of this dish was 100% spot on as it was messy as hell. It was a super generous serving and definitely covered two meals for me, which was impressive. It also came with a choice of more-different-carb, so I opted for a biscuit. It was surprisingly crispy on the outside and made for a nice contrast-y dessert bite when topped with their homemade jam. Small brunch spot in a small plaza. We were seated inside and service was a little slow as it looked like there was only one cook from what we could see. The waitresses were nice and friendly. I got the monte cristo and it came with homemade jam which was delicious. The sandwich was great and had lots of cheese. My husband got the eggs benedict and the eggs were overcooked but wasn't a huge deal for him. It came on a biscuit bed instead of english muffin which he liked. The potatoes were also different and good. It came with a homemade spicy salsa and it was BOMB. Highly recommend getting the salsa. Overall, there's a lot of brunch spots in the area but I thought this was a nice spot. Personally wouldn't think it's worth a wait but it was nice popping in on a weekday for brunch. I love little breakfast places like this in tourist towns. You can tell locals come here and enjoy it. We sat outside, the server was friendly and worked pretty hard. My wife had the frugal breakfast and said it was, "OK". I had the Ham & Bacon Omelet with hash browns. Everything was cooked perfectly but, we both agreed, lacked any real flavor. Went here about three weeks ago on a Monday. We sat outside with our dog. At first we had an excellent friendly server and she was efficient. I think her name was Heather. Then we didn't see her for while then she waved to us on the way to her car. Our new server never came to our table once. I wast to say her name was Kira? The hostess came over. We had to ask for our food several times. The Hostess ended up helping us out multiple times. I ordered the homemade Corn Beef Hash and it wasn't very good. I have never had corn beef hash like this before. It was very spicy that day and mushy. Maybe it was an off day. When I paid at the register, Kira our server took my payment. The one that replaced Heather. She was very unfriendly and definitely didn't want to be there. If you hate your job, quit. Don't bring your personal life to work. I would have probably given this place a 2nd chance due to Heather. However, the fact that the replacement server treated us like we didn't matter and didn't care to serve us, I will never go back. The bacon and the sausage are cooked the way I enjoy it not super crispy and crunchy but just good pancakes were great eggs were on point and the potatoes were really good too. This sandwich is hands down one of the best I've ever had! It was my first time trying the Monte Cristo, and wow, the homemade jam and French toast flavor were amazing. It's definitely a 5-star sandwich, and the service was even better. Food: 3/5 I ordered the bacon, mushroom and avocado omelet. It was a decent size and had a good amount of bacon, cheese and mushrooms. My potatoes were a bit cold and my wheat toast was very cold. My husband ordered the spicy crisp chicken sandwhich. It was alright. The portion was very small. The wavy fries were somewhat warm. Both of our meals were nothing crazy. They were overpriced for something simple. I would say that the only meal that was well done was my infant's meal. Although the egg looked kind of dirty from the grill. But the pancakes were so fresh and hot. Our servers were friendly and brought our food and drinks in a good wait time. Ivan was very attentive to details and made sure to include my infant when checking on us. Ambiance: 4.5/5 The outside table where we sat had shade but the table and chairs were a little unkept. BE ADVISED: They charge $1.50 on your tab for egg shortage. They don't let you know on their menu or when they take your order. They only have a sign near their register. Breakfast with family while visiting Pismo Beach area. Oh boy the foods we ordered so delicious and satisfying! Their salsa and jam were really good.
