    The works
    Mandy F.

HUGE portions on the breakfast, shareable for sure. I got myself the works omelet and sub in bacon instead of ham. Bacon, bellpepper, onions, mushroom, cheese, avocado and topped with some sour cream! Really good meal Comes with house potatoes and your choice of bread , I went with sourdough. They also had home made salsa and jam that they provided at the table. Service was amazing and very attentive. You can either sit inside or outside. Plenty of space.

Food was wonderful for a nice in the cut breakfast spot. You can get the eggs however you want them. Unfortunately the servers were not as friendly and it affected my experience . Maybe because it was really busy on Valentine's Day and they were overwhelmed. Regardless the food was good

    Homemade corn beef and hash!!!
    Michelle O.

I never asked for corn beef and hash, but I had it here one time and I've been addicted every since! It's homemade and it really has such great flavor. I highly recommend the corn beef and hash.

Dirty windows, torn screen, peeling paint, food on carpet.

Both the food and the service is good,BUT the restaurant just needs to be cleaned up. The windows were dirty, the screens were torn, nobody had picked up the crumbs and bits of paper off the carpeting, the paint was peeling off the walls. The food wasn't cheap, but good. Coffee was $4.50 which seems high. But the main reason we won't be back as it just seemed dirty inside

The "Popeye" with wheat toast and coffee; just awesome!!!
    Jason S.

Food is always great and portions are substantial. Service is great every time- I usually sit at the counter when it's just me but there is plenty of seating in front and in back of the place. Ordered the "Popeye," which is my go to breakfast (spinach, bacon, mushrooms all on top of home fries). A MUST with breakfast is their homemade salsa which is hotter than hell; but SO DAMN GOOD! This place is a Grover Beach institution- come here and eat well!

    The happy couple!

Amazing home made food! The country scramble and Popeyes scramble will keep us full til dinner! Great coffee but best of all service is on point!

The prices here are really good. The food is really great. The bacon and the sausage are cooked the way I enjoy it not super crispy and crunchy but just good pancakes were great eggs were on point and the potatoes were really good too. There was one server to handle the whole restaurant so you can't complain about things that take long but everything was quick and fast. Definitely coming back here when I'm back in town.

    Monte Cristo Sandwich
    Mauricio G.

This sandwich is hands down one of the best I've ever had! It was my first time trying the Monte Cristo, and wow, the homemade jam and French toast flavor were amazing. It's definitely a 5-star sandwich, and the service was even better. Our waiter was so polite, courteous, and attentive; she deserves 5 stars too, and the place was small and nice very welcoming, homey type of feeling. My daughter had the meat lovers omelette with French toast, and she loved it too. I highly recommend this place to anyone thinking about eating here.

Bbq chicken wrap ( he added the fries ) so yummy!
    Lynn G.

This place never disappoints! Service is excellent, the place is cozy and comforting but the best part is their food! Our go to is the biscuits and gravy! And even though I try to deviate I always end up having the Eggs Benedict! We love when we come to visit Grover , we always make it to Lil' Bits!

Are we back to a new normal where we can eat at the counter again?

I believe so. When I ate there a little while back we sat at the counter

What do you put in your gravy? We don't eat pork so I wanted to ask ahead. Everything looks delicious!

I believe it's sausage gravy. Most breakfast gravy is made with either sausage or bacon grease.

A charming little restaurant just up from the beach, very casual with lots of seating inside two large dining rooms. They also offer take-out and you pick it up on the side street. Their chowder is good and I felt very buttery in flavor but loaded with clams and potatoes. Just the right thickness to not be gummy but flavorful. I also had the fish sandwich and so glad I did! This was by far the best fish sandwich I've had! The large fillet of wild caught cod was fried perfectly with a light batter and the fish inside was moist and flaky. Served on a bun with lettuce, tomato and a caper dijon dressing that was to die for! Oh my gosh...I'll dream of this sandwich till I have it again, LOL! Wife had the Egg Sandwich which she chose on sourdough. Added bacon to top the sandwich off and she loved it...the remoulade they use was tasty and tangy. Note that the parking lot, depending on which day you go, can fill up very quickly. The location is right off of the 101 and easy to find. We checked in and was seated within 10 minutes at a booth that overlooked the beautiful views of the Pismo Beach coast line. Our server, a younger black woman, who told us her nickname was 'TiTi', if I'm not mistaken, was wonderful. Her personality and hospitality was infectious and exceeded 5 stars. She brought us fresh hot corn and flour tortillas with a small cup of brown sugar butter and three different salsas to try. Everything was delicious. We ordered the surf and turf special which was a jumbo shrimp on top of a filet mignon that rested on mash potatoes and a creamy/savory white sauce. We also ordered the lobster Mac and cheese. Everything was exceptionally good. My only takeaway would be that I found the food, especially the lobster Mac and cheese to be pretty salty. Definitely excited for my next visit.

We had a reservation for a birthday dinner and arrived about 30 minutes early. We were told we'd be seated closer to our reservation time, which was completely understandable. However, as we waited, we watched several groups (including walk-ins without reservations) get seated before us. Even after our reservation time had passed, we had to check in with the host again before we were finally seated, despite there being plenty of empty tables. The service at the front definitely could have been handled better. The food, on the other hand, was very good with a great variety of options. I loved that they start you off with freshly made tortillas, cinnamon butter, and salsa to share. I ordered the Campechana de Mariscos, which was fresh, generously portioned, and perfect for sharing. We also had the Molcajete, and it was delicious! It came with a great mix of steak, chicken, chorizo, jumbo shrimp, nopal, and cheese. The portion was generous and easily enough for two people. Other dishes we ordered also included the pozole, chicken nachos, and lobster mac and cheese. Everything was delicious as well! The mac and cheese especially. For drinks, I tried the Golden Hour nonalcoholic cocktail, and unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it. It tasted like watered-down ginger beer with no carbonation and only the faintest hint of pineapple. It was more on the bitter taste. Overall, this is a great restaurant for the ocean views and flavorful food. The portions are generous, and there's something for everyone on the menu. The only downside was the host service and the unnecessary wait despite having a reservation. I'd still come back for the food and the scenery.

While staying in Pismo with family, they wanted to take us to their favorite Italian restaurant and…read morewe chose to have dinner in the Cucina...they have another location right next door, which isn't as "fancy" as their sit down place. Tables covered with white linen as well as linen napkins, stepping up the ambiance. Our server, Maricella, was great, friendly, and very attentive. We started with their Caesar salad, which is made with fresh, largely torn romaine lettuce and covered with both grated and shaved parmesan cheese. There were a few crutons scattered and we opted to add anchovies to our salad. I also asked for extra dressing because typically salads don't come with much and I'm a dressing gal! Ok, so the salad itself was great and fresh and the anchovies were good and not greasy or fishy tasting. The dressing was an issue and I really didn't care for it. Wife said it was "ok" but we've had way better dressing elsewhere. She chose the Ravioli di Zucca, which was a butternut squash filled ravioli with a sage and parmesan cheese sauce. I thought it was a bit sweet but she liked it. I had the Linguine Vongole, which came with a housemade pasta that was more like a thick spaghetti noodle as opposed to the typical flat linguine noodle. The bowl was full of clams; found some to be a bit tough and overall I think the sauce could use a ton more lemon flavor! It was good but family had ordered the Nonna's Meatballs and that's where I would go! Something with their incredible marinara sauce because it is the bomb! Such a great balance of tang and sweet and just good flavor. I also want to talk about the bread and dip they serve at the beginning of the meal...oh my gosh! The bread is sliced super thin with a soft inside and that wonderful tuggy outter crust. The dip is a garlic (lots of it!) and olive oil mix that you can spread on the bread...ok, we ate a lot of this! Daughter also ordered the brussels sprouts, which were roasted to perfection and topped with pecans, goat cheese, and a honey Dijon vinaigrette. These were some of the best sprouts I've had! We shared the Spumoni for dessert, which was good and different! There was a layer of cake along with layers of chocolate, pistachio, and vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of the cherry sauce and sprinkle of mini chocolate chips. The dish is good and needs much more of that cherry sauce! Overall a good meal and next time we doing the Club instead...much less fancy and a smaller menu of offerings.

It was stuffed with sliced tri-tip, curly fries, avocado, pepper jack cheese, and bbq sauce. Every bite was so satisfying, flavorful and had a little bit of everything. Some saltiness from the fries to sweetness from the bbq sauce, well balanced (I did add some cholula sauce because I enjoy some spiciness). Definitely added as a stop when doing a day trip to Pismo. I'll be recommending friends/family to make a stop at Hoagies if they're ever in the area and they're looking for a chomp because a bite isn't enough. So after all the shopping/walking, pick up some Hoagies and head to the beach (which is walking distance), because great food deserves a great view!

I decided to give Hoagie's a try -- I usually go elsewhere for my cod wrap when in the area. I…read morerequested the cabbage and tomato instead of curly French fries inside the wrap -- and fries came on the side, anyway. The counterperson taking my order kept saying lettuce, and I repeated a few times, you mean cabbage, since that's what is written on the menu, and they seemed a bit confused.. But it did come with lettuce, not cabbage (?). Hmm. The fish was okay, but not fried to enough of a crisp, so it was not crunchy. It was also a relatively small amount of cod in the the burrito wrap. I say burrito wrap as the tortilla was pretty thick and barely toasted. I did see other patrons sitting at the tables with much toastier-looking wraps, and it looked like the steak wrap came in a wheat tortilla. So is there more than one kind of tortilla? The tartar sauce was middle of the road and there was not enough of it in the wrap for my tastes - I like sauce. But I could not get more for the side, as the line was out the door by the time I discovered I could use more tartar sauce! So while it was fine, and the fish seemed fresh, I was somewhat disappointed, and did not munch this wrap with the zeal that I do the one from the other locale in town where I typically buy the killer cod wrap. The curly fries were good and well salted. Lots of people sitting outside; tables could've been cleaned better. Maybe staff should come out and wipe them down periodically.

This is the Pismo wrap with curly fries. I'm not easily impressed, but this wrap did not disappoint.

My mom and I were in Pismo for a few days and I decided to get up early to grab us some breakfast…read moreto bring back to the hotel. Beachin' Biscuits had amazing reviews and I do love a good biscuit so I headed out to order some takeout. Super cute location with both indoor and outdoors seating. It was early, but there were a few customers already there eating their breakfast. The customer service was outstanding. The young man who took my order was really friendly and helped me decide what to order. I opted for the scrambled eggs that came with cheese on top the homemade house, potatoes, and an amazing biscuit. I also got the honey butter and the strawberry jam. My order came pretty quickly and off I went. Eggs - perfectly cooked and loved the addition of the cheese on top. Wasn't overpowering at all. Potatoes - I actually really loved these. They had a smoky flavor to them that was just delicious. Biscuit - this was one of the best biscuits I've ever had. It was light and buttery and just delicious. I could easily eat two or three of these myself. Thankfully, I only got one and shared it with Mom. The honey butter was delicious, but the star of the show was that strawberry jelly oh my goodness it's so good! 10 out of 10 I will be back!!

Never fails - LOVE This Place…read more Boogie Board Breakfast Burrito with gravy inside. This was good.. and perfect for on the go ... but my ultimate favorite is ...... the GNARLY BISCUIT SANDWICH - light and airy biscuits topped with sausage and perfect over easy egg and then smothered in sausage gravy.... ABSOLUTE HEAVEN! This is served open faced... not so easy for on the go - but perfect in every other way!! Staff are all super friendly and look like they truly enjoy working there. They moved to a bigger building across the street from their little hole in the wall, which is awesome. Plenty of seating outdoor and a good 20ish seats indoors (which is a whole lot more than before ) This place gets busy especially on weekends.. so get there early or be patient - trust me, it is worth the wait! Would i go back? YES... every time I visit the area!!
