I love cinnamon rolls and was excited to see this shop during my Pismo trip. That being said, I was slightly disappointed with my roll. It wasn't as fluffy or soft as I expected and it was served cold. However, it did satisfy my craving and was a solid cinnamon roll.
1 portion was great for sampling between 4 people. I'd say a light snack could be 1 roll between 2 people. cream cheese icing was very sweet, and honestly could do really well without the icing. the roll itself was soft and had abundant cinnamon sugar filling. [[HIGHLIGHT]]the restaurant has a counter-style ordering with outdoor seating only.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] there's is a microwave available for heating up the roll. the staff are friendly and efficient, and helped us with the ordering process smoothly.

It was an easy decision for me!! I didn't eat my cinnamon roll right away since I wanted to bring it home to enjoy. Despite the hot weather and stops I made before my final destination, the cinnamon roll held up perfectly! It was very delicious - soft, and not too sweet. It was an easy time eating it. I meant to save a bite for my mom and forgot to honestly. Overall, I had a very pleasant Old West experience and will be back!
A must stop in Pismo Beach for their iconic cinnamon rolls! There's was a short long but service was friendly and quick ! I do have to say their cinnamon rolls was less fluffy compared to when I tried it for years and a bit on the sweeter size with less cinnamon otherwise still enjoyed it
In Pismo Beach for the July 4th holiday so had the opportunity to try many different spots in this beautiful little beachside town. We noticed a long line forming about 6:00am and asked family about what we were seeing (they live across the street). Store opens at 6:30am each morning and lines form before opening and throughout the entire time they are open...we discovered the line moves quickly due to the way they have the shop set up. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When you first enter, you see both "kitchens" where the rolls are formed and created. We happened to catch a time when a roll was being made and it was fascinating![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Soft dough, rolled out to a huge rectangle, covered with so many pats of margarine, huge sprinkles of sugar and their cinnamon spice (they sell it in bottles). The dough is then rolled with the addition of more sugar and cinnamon and then cut into large rolls. Nine rolls per baking pan and set aside to rise and then to baking. They offer several kinds of rolls including both frosted and unfrosted cinnamon rolls, pecan rolls, walnut rolls, almond, and maple bacon. We had frosted ones and pecan and both were scrumptious and one of the best rolls we've had! They are best fresh and warm and they do offer some tables and chairs outside to sit and enjoy them! We didn't order but was told by several people that their coffee was excellent as well. Long line but must go! A staple in the Pismo Beach area. Fresh cinnamon rolls. See them in the making while in line inside. Line moves pretty fast. There are many staff taking orders. There is a public parking lot right across the street. It was pretty empty around 10am. Around 11:30am the lot was full. They have lattes and they're good for people who like really sweet drinks. Not my cup of coffee. Great service!
Came here for the 4th of July and from where we started ( parking lot area), it was an hour wait in line. Decided to just get the original cinnamon roll to share. I think it was good we skipped the cream cheese frosting since it was super sweet. The roll itself already had sugar and cinnamon and was good. Also, got a hot chocolate. We didn't mind the wait (8 am to 9 am) since we plan to stay all day and night to see the fireworks.
There will be a line, don't worry they move quickly. Four different styles of rolls, cream cheese, almond, pecan, cherry covered. All are divine. They also sell a package to make them at home or premade rolls you can stick in the oven. Both options sound great to me. This is a great option before you head out on your day excursion!

Pecan roll: 9/10 This was sooo delicious. I had expected the cinnamon rolls to be better but this was actually the highlight. The dough was flakier and softer than the cinnamon roll and the fresh pecans were so delicious. It wasn't too sweet which I appreciate. 2. Cinnamon roll: 6/10 This was pretty good but I expected more cinnamon flavor in the dough so I was a bit disappointed. The dough was a bit harder as well and it wasn't too sweet, maybe the one with cream cheese frosting would taste better. Overall, this was super delicious and worth it. Portions were huge and it's quite filling.

If you're in Pismo Beach and craving a giant gooey cinnamon roll, this spot definitely delivers. There always seems to be a line, but it moves pretty quickly. We parked in the paid lot across the street, which was pretty convenient for the area. We ordered the regular cinnamon roll, the maple bacon cinnamon roll, and an iced vanilla latte. The rolls came out warm, fresh, and perfectly ooey gooey in the best way. The maple bacon one was especially delicious. Prices felt fair for the portion sizes, and I liked that they also sell day old cinnamon rolls at half price. There's no indoor seating, but there are a few small tables outside near the line. They also have microwaves inside if you want to heat your roll up more, plus a small selection of drinks like milk and chocolate milk. The only downside was the service. The employees behind the counter were pretty short and not very friendly during our visit. That said, people clearly come here for the cinnamon rolls, not the customer service, and the cinnamon rolls lived up to the hype.

Instead of being soft, fluffy, and pillowy, the bread had a crunchy texture, which was disappointing since we were expecting a warm, tender cinnamon roll. The frosting was delicious and helped balance it out, but the overcooked bread took away from the overall experience. Even though our first visit didn't quite live up to the hype, we'll definitely be back to give it another try. Hopefully next time we'll get a fresh, soft, melt-in-your-mouth cinnamon roll that everyone raves about.

A group of us came to Pismo for a truck show. One of the guys is familiar with the area and raved about these cinnamon rolls. We waited in probably a 35-40 minute line and it was WORTH it. These rolls are delicious. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The shop is clean and the employees were great.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Once back to Vegas. I went to the site and ordered some to come out and have at my mothers. Great cinnamon rolls with a wide variety of flavors ie bacon, walnuts, almonds, plain..... Their prices are very affordable from $4 to $6. There is a small parking lot right next door (6 spaces). There was a long line but it goes fast ie 15 minutes. The cashier was very attentive when I ordered. You can get 8 and get 1 free. They do not heat up the cinnamon rolls anymore but they do have a microwave. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place inside doesn't have any seating area. The seating area is outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The cinnamon rolls taste better when heated. I would definitely return. Enjoy! read more

This is the best cinnamon roll I've ever tried! they don't skimp on the cream cheese icing, and it's the perfect consistency (not too thick and not too runny). I also LOVED the actual roll itself. It didn't taste like plain bread but also wasn't too sweet (like Cinnabon rolls, which tastes overly sweet IMO). It had a very deep cinnamon flavor and was soft with a little bit of crispiness. The staff were very quick and friendly & they give you the roll and you heat it in a microwave on the side. My group thought this was weird at first, but after thinking about it I realized that putting it in the microwave ensures it's warmed up right before we eat it instead of sitting out. And it also helps the staff be more efficient. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is limited seating but it doesn't take long to eat a cinnamon roll, especially when it's that good![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My group of 4 got one roll which was great for sampling, but I would say it's perfect for 2 people to share. The cinnamon rolls here were absolutely delicious! Service was wonderful, they were so friendly and hard-working here. Saw this place as we were driving to the beach and decided to go in and check it out It was very packed customer service was friendly we got our cinnamon rolls and paid They are big and lots of different kinds to choose from We got the bacon cinnamon roll and almond one Both were delicious and big portions We took it to go there was no more seating outside and it was a very hot day My only complaint is it wasn't warmed up but everything was great read more

This is definitely a Pismo classic that everyone talks about. This place is usually busy, with lines stretching beyond the door. Holidays and Weekends be prepared to wait. It is a old school no frills shop with very limited seating. Luckily, it wasn't too busy the day i went. I ordered a pecan roll along with a vanilla iced latte. The pecan roll was the star of the show! It had the perfect sweetness, great crunch and you can even add icing on top if you like. The latte was ok nothing crazy but got the job done. Overall, it's a great sweet treat and a Pismo staple. Just know going in that the wait can be long, but the Cinnamon Rolls are worth it! read more

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This is definitely a popular spot with both locals and tourists, the line was out the door![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]One of the coolest parts is getting to watch the cinnamon rolls being made, which adds to the experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They also have a microwave available if you prefer your cinnamon roll warm. The cinnamon roll was tasty, but I personally wish the dough had been softer and more pillowy. It didn't have that light, fluffy texture I usually look for in a great cinnamon bun. My latte was pretty good and paired well with it. Overall, it's a decent spot and worth trying at least once. If there's little to no wait, I'd happily stop by again. But if the line is super long, I'd probably skip it since, for me, it wasn't quite worth the wait. read more
I came here after letting the line die down. Boy was that a mistake. No more fresh cinnamon rolls, that is why the lines died down. So i ended up just buying coffee and refrigerated cinnamon rolls that have yet to bake or heat up. So taste? Will just have to update this once I eat the refrigerated version. Am sure it's no comparison to the fresh ones. This place had lines out the door and it is a fairly small place so we will have to retry again when we visit Pismo Beach again. read more

This spot was recommended to us by a friend and we decided to stop by on the way home from Paso Robles to LA. It's by Pismo Beach so you can get a couple rolls for the beach :) as in most beach towns, it can be a little crowded and parking scarce. We got there around 10:30AM and the line wasn't so bad - I was in and out in 20 minutes. On my way out the line was longer so it might be best to plan this stop early on your day. The staff was very pleasant and nice, and they also sell little merch trinkets inside such as magnets, hot cocoa or their own cinnamon roll mix! I just tried their original and the cream cheese rolls, and both are such a delight! The rolls are soft, moist, and just perfectly sweet. When we're in the area next time, I'll try the other flavors -- the almond roll is calling me :) read more

You are not doin it right, if you don't go to this delicious smelling, abundantly curated options of baked goods, with the best Cinammon rolls you ever had. If I could do half stars I would do 2.5. This place was not awful by any means but my experience was super subpar and I was disappointed. I've seen this place all over social media and so I made the trek out there on the way home from. Conference. There was only a small line. The cost was affordable. But the flavor was barely there and the rolls were dry. I even got some of the ones from the fridge to take home and those were the Most average rolls I have ever had. Like I said they weren't bad or gross but I wouldn't go back or recommend it. read more
The place to go for huge cinnamon rolls and hot chocolate when you are visiting Pismo Beach. I love the cool morning or days by the beach even during the summer. I can still enjoy hot chocolate and warm cinnamon rolls. Location is great to just across from the parking lots. read more
Cinnamon rolls, say less. We are all there! We got the pecan and the original with cream cheese frosting and YUP that was the winner. Each layer was really good and yummy, I was actually surprise that it wasn't overly sweet. Really a nice bakery treat while you walking along the beach side. read more

BEST CINNAMON ROLLS EVER! I saw this store in Pismo Beach and knew I had to try it. The waiter was very kind to let me try their cream cheese frosting sample and explained their popular menu. I got their cinnamon roll with cream cheese frosting on the side. Even though the roll was not very warm, they had microwave to warm up. When I ate it, it melted in my mouth. The cream cheese also added a nice sweetness to it. In just few moment, the roll was gone and I was left wanting more. I do wish they had more tables inside since outside was windy and they do have limited number of tables. read more
Found this place online before we got to town. Definitely wanted to try their cinnamon rolls. The reviews were very good and the cinnamon rolls look delicious. It was very busy and a popular spot. There is a couple tables outside and not really seating inside, so be prepared to eat it on the run or if you're lucky get a seat outside like we did. I went with the cinnamon roll with crumbled bacon on top. It was very good but be prepared. It's very sweet so you'll need something to drink. read more

stopped by pismo beach on a road trip and preordered a cinnamon roll online. not bad but the edges were a little hard though the center was very soft. we walked up to the counter and told them our order number and they promptly handed it to us. I always visit this location when I go to Pismo. The staff is always kind. the place is always clean. sometimes there is a bit of a wait. The rolls themselves were unbelievably soft, with that ideal balance between fluffy and gooey. No we do not. We only ship the cinnamon rolls that are offered on our shipping page on our website oldwestcinnamonrolls.com.
If I order from your website, can the cinnamon rolls be frozen and eaten at a later date? How do they fair being reheated?
We took frozen home to my dad. Let's just say them rolls do not exist anymore. Enjoy

We now only make twists if they are pre-ordered. Call the bakery or walk in to place your order.
Are the rolls and facility peanut free?
YES!!!! Our bakery is Peanut FREE. We do serve Almonds, Pecans, and Walnuts in the bakery. Peanuts are served at the fair as a nut topping.
Do you serve decaf coffee?
Yes, we serve decaf drip coffee, our coffee is locally roasted and organic.
Do you have any vegan options available?
