We really enjoyed this breakfast hidden gem! I live how everything is sourced locally and made with fresh, quality ingredients. The menu has a bunch of fun breakfasts that was a nice change of pace from the omelettes and pancakes that other places are making. I ordered the sunrise tacos and they were pretty good. The corn tortillas were solid, and I would say everything blended really well together flavor wise. And everything was cooked perfectly. The rest of the family felt maybe a little more neutral toward their breakfasts but I very much enjoyed my meal. This experience involved me getting my food to go. As I was waiting on my food I noticed that everyone in and out of the kitchen did not have their hair covered or pulled back. The individual working the register has bakery items on a rack that is eye level to her. She is constantly flopping her hair back and forth. In addition I noticed that when a server came out to clean tables and dirty dishes, they would put them in the sink and then just to grab food items to serve. They didn't even wash their hands! After I noticed that I had been waiting for a long time, I asked the person at the register about my food. She looked over to the rack and my food was just sitting there for an ample amount of time. However, the matcha was not a vibrant green - felt lower grade matcha. That's fine, however - i ordered a mango matcha. It tasted like caramel and when we went to check, they said "that's what our mango tastes like." It was gross.The blueberry matcha was decent but nothing to write home about. This was my favorite place to eat in pismo beach. The rad rainbow bowl, jackfruit bowl and burrito/wrap, chia pudding, and smoothies were all super fresh, packed with goodness, and delicious. I am so so so grateful for finding a health conscious cafe while on the road. The people working there were so warm, helpful and friendly. I was able to add things to my bowl and they gave me honest feedback on all of my questions. If I lived nearby I'd eat there all the time. It is a small , funky cafe. People complain that there is no table service, you order deli style and they bring it out later. Because there aren't waiters , no one is rushing you to turn the table over for tips. I give it 5 stars for the variety. You can order bacon or beef...or tofu. Happy we chose Honeymoon Cafe as our first stop on our baby moon. The menu options were salivating and reasonably priced. It was a small wait in line to order at the counter, and they had plenty of open seating. The server brought our order out to the table pretty quickly, and they even brought us extra salsa, no charge. While the OJ was fresh and tasty, the chilaquiles lacked a little sabor (hence the reason for extra salsa). We liked what we ordered, but the portion sizes were small and there wasn't much "umph" to the singular dishes. Wow! The food here is simply divine. I had the BLAT: a felafel sandwich with bacon, lettuce, avocado, tomato, and I also added an egg. It was bliss on a plate... :-) the tomato was perfectly ripen, the lettuce was crisp, the bacon was crispy, and the egg was cooked perfectly. There are so many places that make this kind of sandwich, but this by far is the best version I've ever had! The restaurant is very homey, with lots of cool artwork, and plants everywhere. We were driving from Pismo to Oxnard and needed a quick breakfast. The Hotel we had stayed at was great, but the breakfast there was not. So, we drove up the road and there was the Honeymoon! I actually had looked the previous day at breakfast spots in Pismo, and the Honeymoon came up. We ate inside, and we both ordered omelettes. My partner ordered cheddar with veggies - I asked for goat cheese and mushrooms - and also asked to have it cooked in butter (vs oil). I've been using butter since I began making omelettes as a short order cook in 1973. There's no going back. The omelette was very good - I was a little surprised to see the mushrooms inside and the goat cheese evenly on top....but it worked! My partner also thought her's was delicious. For the sides, she had the potatoes and I had the toast. I asked for the toast to be dark as you can see in the picture....I like it just like that! My partner was a little disappointed with the potatoes - again, a 'picture is worth a thousand words'. Out of the entire stack of potatoes, maybe ten were suitable for eating - the rest were crumbling, burnt pieces of potato! No matter!! The omelettes are what really mattered! My toast was fine - when you go, think about ordering toast, instead of potatoes. read more

This place was a perfect stop for our road trip up north! Right off the freeway and plenty of parking during the week. My girlfriend and I both got the B.L.A.T. sandwich on sourdough. Having cruised around the night prior, little did I know that this was a business that I drove by. I found it interesting that for metered parking, you have to pay on Sundays but during the week it's free. Definitely knew it was a good spot, by the packed outdoor area and the line coming outside. It took maybe 15-20 minutes to make it up front. I ordered an East Coast Latte along with a breakfast quesadilla which was gigantic and flavorful. Nothing like sitting outside knowing you're breathing in ocean water and being able to take it easy in the morning. Came here while in Pismo Beach with friends on a rare rainy morning at 11:00 AM and it was packed. There's a lot of outdoor seating, but because of the weather, everyone was crowded inside. We were lucky to snag a table because a party was leaving at the same time as we came in. You order at the register first and then sit, and they call out your name when your order is ready. The cashier was super nice and answered our questions nicely about ingredients and suggestions. There's a small egg surcharge right now, so all egg dishes have an extra $1 tacked on. The cooks in the kitchen were bantering back and forth with each other, creating a loud and laughter-filled environment that was really pleasant to be in. There's displays with goods for sale, from cafe merch to 3D printed keychains to jewelry. There's lots of games and books to borrow, and condiments are available on shelves to take to your table. Utensils are available, and they're a hodgepodge of different cutlery sets. Very homey atmosphere here that was very comforting. I got the Cowboy Burrito in a Spinach Tortilla with no sour cream. The burrito was decently sized and was filled well with the different meats. The burrito was fine. My complaint, however, was that a lot of the sausage in the burrito was pink and chewy and I was afraid it was raw. I picked out pieces because they did not seem fully cooked. Luckily, I did not feel sick afterwards, but this was a big concern for me. I really liked the cafe as a whole, but because of the food quality and safety concerns, I'm not sure I will be back. read more

Honeymoon Cafe is located near the Pismo pier and beach. Decided to have a late brunch as I saw pictures of it and it looked enticing. Coming in, the interior was really nicely decorated! They had a variety of jewelry, postcards, hoodies, etc. they were selling. I ordered the Grazing Goat Cheese Omelette with the blueberry matcha. Now, here's where it kind of went downhill. The side of potatoes that were included were brunt and had no flavor. I had to add a lot of salt and pepper just to give it something. The omelette tasted dry, didn't even have spinach on it (the description of the meal said it would), and only had a little bit of mushrooms. The blueberry matcha...was probably one of the best worst tasting matchas I've had. The blueberry and matcha were nonexistent in the drink. The color was off, the taste was really off to the point where I was tasting watered down coffee instead. It was really confusing. And to add to my meal, when I asked for a straw, the waitress didn't hand me the straw but instead just placed it on the table with no covering. The cafe's hygiene wasn't the greatest as well as it smelled off in the inside. I don't know if I got the wrong meal + drink and maybe they offer better ones but it'll be awhile until I try this place again. read more

I came on a rainy day, so seating (first come, first serve) was more limited than usual since nobody was able to make use of the outdoor tables. Order and pay at the counter, then take your food to go or dine-in. My group of 6 was able to secure a small table with a bunch of chairs gathered around, but this place is better suited for smaller groups. The employees were friendly here. There's a lot of great options on the menu along with unique drinks. I ordered the Fowl Play in a spinach wrap burrito in case I needed to eat it on the go. I asked for No Onions which wasn't a problem for them. The breakfast burrito was good, but the ingredients weren't dispersed evenly, so the end of my burrito tasted way better than the first half. I also ordered a lavender latte with oat milk which was soothing as well as the honey graham latte which for some people might not like the grainy texture at times (from the graham crackers probably), but I thought the latte was good. Overall, Honeymoon is a standard food spot with friendly employees. Although the food looked standard and tasted like something I could whip up on my own at home, the specialty coffee flavors are tasty and something that I would go back for. read more

On our last morning in Pismo Beach, we checked out of our hotel at eleven and stopped for breakfast at the Honeymoon Cafe. I was particularly impressed by their menu, which easily accommodated my restrictions on pork, potatoes and gluten (which is a deal changer at breakfast). We were second in line and quickly up to order. I chose the grazing goat omelette with a fruit side, after fruit upcharge and egg inflation ($1 charge this week) it ended up being an $18 meal. Don't care, it's the going rate in this resort area. Husband ordered the cowboy burrito $11 with egg flation $1, potatoes from the burrito on the side and no sour cream, no charge. Can of Coke was a $1.90, less than a hotel vending machine so whatever! I loved the mushroom variety, caramelized onion and spinach in the omelette, very tender but firm. I wish there was more cheese inside. But I ate it all quite happily. Fruit was a nice hand cut variety with fresh apples, banana, berries, oh my! Truly my perfect breakfast. Be still my heart! Husband's burrito was great too, with plenty of meat. Small potato side from the burrito was perfect complement and much appreciated. If we lived in Pismo we would be here a lot more often. Waking down downtown Pismo Beach and saw this cute cafe on the side where there was a long line of patrons waiting to be seated inside. Due to the wait time, we decided we need a morning pick me upper to start our a Saturday morning and decided to head to the barista while we waited to be seated. The choices of lattes and coffee choices were great because you can customize your drink to your liking. I chose the Matcha Latte with Almond Milk, my sister had the Lavender Latte with soy milk and brother in law settled for drip coffee. The wait was about 15 minutes due to the baristas were slammed with patrons waiting for their seats and customers inside enjoying their meals. I have to give the baristas kudos for their non stop movements in creating each customized drink to their best and quickly enough their customer service as their priority.
