Great brewery with very cute decor and delicious beer. I tried three different fantastic IPA's. There was a good selection of games available for use. Spent some time playing darts. There was also a street fighter game which I'm 100% going to play at my next visit. Also def plan to take advantage of the jukebox at my next visit. My favorite brewery of OC. I would go as far as seeing my favorite place to even drink. Going here makes me content. Even when I go drink alone, I feel very welcomed by the staff and I don't feel alone. I love all the variety that they have to offer. This place is truly unique with the hours and operations that they work before. It was only 2 to 3 days a week that they were open for limited hours but I am glad they have increased. The beer here I can say does it make you feel as full as other places which is good unless you like that bloated feeling. Almost as if it feels like a healthy alternative. Lol. If you're lucky, they sometimes have some food vendors in front usually on weekends. This place is truly a gem, and I think it deserves more recognition. Great small brewer in an area that's slowing getting more tasting rooms up and running. I arrived with a group of my friends and we had got a variety of beers so we could all taste a little. Our beer tender gave us great recommendations and even set us up for some beer pong. We all had a great time here. I even mustered up the courage to try their house-made michelada, I'm not usually a fan of savory drinks, but this was very good. They even have a spicy beer! Another major hit! I liked how intimate this place was, loved the look of the tasting room too, black wall and tons of wood-type detail. Can't wait to go back to try more of their beers and more beer pong! Were turned away because they were "closing up". No explanation, mention of a special event or extenuating circumstances. In the over saturated OC beerdom I'm finding that The Beer Co. is quickly becoming a go to for me. I like the beers, the atmosphere is excellent from what I've experienced and the service is too notch. I was here with my wife, friend and my friends 8mth old. It's def a child friendly place. One of the beertenders even asked if we wanted to change the tv channel to something more kid friendly. If that's not customer service, then I don't know what is. The space itself is intimate, but I'm finding more and more that I prefer it much more that the bigger breweries. You can actually have a conversation here without having to tell over loud music, or other groups yelling. As I mentioned the beers are to my liking. There's a decent hazy with the Grapeanero, and the strawberry fields was light and refreshing for a warm day. Foodwise, there is a Latino BBQ outside when I was there but, we brought food in without any issues. Parking is a bit tight as it's in a industrial strip but there's is plenty of parking on the street! Highly recommend. read more

Rented this brewery for a birthday party for my fiance. The service and staff were analyzing and easy to work with. The process to rent it out was easy and the price was more than reasonable. The drinks were good and affordable. They let me bring a taco stand for the guests to eat. They even let me decorate the place, kept our cake in the fridge and were flexible with us if we wanted to increase the time. Can't say enough good things and I love to support these owners and first responders. read more

Came here because we heard about the make your own seltzer. The flavors are a touch too sweet but the bartender held back a little and they came out perfect. Pretty cool concept of making your own hard seltzer. We tried to recreate the Baja blast flavor and it was pretty spot on (tropical+key lime) the color isn't the same but the flavor is good. The bartender also made a really good michelada. They had a cool bar and plenty of tables. They also have plenty of parking. The bartender mentioned that it was owned by a few firefighters which I thought was pretty cool. read more

I recently rented the space for my daughter's Birthday party 6-11 The beer is pricey, but I will say it's delicious and I'm not much of a beer drinker. All my guest loved the beer. The place is advertised on Giggster with amenities listed as air conditioning, there's NO AIR and it was like walking into a heater!! That was my biggest complaint. Second, make sure your restrooms are supplied with soap, the soap was low then filled up with "watered down" soap! No no no, that's never good! I don't get out this way that often - but since joining the club at The Bruery, it's certainly gone up a lot. My wife was meeting a friend in the area for a movie last weekend, and offered to drop me off at Bruery Terreux so I could taste all the new stuff without having to worry about driving, and I figured I should check if there were any other new breweries within walking distance, since I'd have a couple hours. Sure enough, there was! (Google Maps doesn't recognize that as a pedestrian, you can walk from Grove St to Enterprise Drive, which you totally can. Though to be fair, you do have to run across one non-pedestrian-friendly street in the middle.) So after the insanity of Bruery Terreux (insanity in terms of some really wacky fantastic beer, but also just a crazy number of people), I walked the ~half mile here - completely opposite, but just as much fun. This is the sort of tasting room that, if they ever got really well known, they probably would have to find a new place, because it is not that big. When I was there last Sunday afternoon, though, there were only a couple other customers, so I could actually *relax*, which was nice. (Though on the other hand, I would've been happy for *them* if they had a few more - they really should, given how good the beer is!) Both the employees while I was there were super friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about the beer and the brewery. When I was there, they had about a dozen beers on tap, with about half the list dedicated to pale ales of one sort or another, because you can't be a brewery on the west coast and not have a ton of those, that's just the rule, apparently. I've never gotten the appeal of them (though they did have one with pink peppercorn, that I tried a splash of, and it was pretty good for being a pale ale), but they did have exactly enough of my sort of beer to make a flight, so I did. Their flights are $12 for 4 tasters, though they also give you $2 off your "first pint" with a yelp checkin currently, and they were happy to apply that to my flight (thanks!). The beers I tried were all great - a slightly tart, very fruity but not too sweet strawberry "sour" (it wasn't really sour, but that's the closest label that fits - delicious), a "key lime Mexican ale" (like a Mexican lager, only more full bodied and richer, and very lime-y - also delicious), an extremely peanut-y, extremely smooth peanut butter stout (yep, delicious again), and a golden coffee stout that I think might be my favorite coffee stout I've had (certainly up there, anyway - it had tons of coffee flavors but without being overpowering, with neither too much sweetness or too much bitterness). I only really have one complaint - I love that they do beer cocktails, so I had to try their michelada, since I love the michelada at Trademark Brewing, which has a similar lime-forward Mexican-style beer... it's super cool that they let me try an experiment of doing a michelada with half the key lime ale, and half the peppercorn pale ale, which would have made a truly excellent michelada, if their michelada mix hadn't been super bland, which it was. The $7 michelada I had was totally not worth it - a very lackluster michelada (not due to the beer, which was great - entirely due to the blandness of their michelada mix.) They did also have one other beer cocktail, with a base of their strawberry sour, that I didn't have a chance to try - I'd totally try it next time, though, if it was still there (sounds like other than the michelada, they rotate the beer cocktails pretty frequently.) read more

The Beer Co lands in the saturated craft beer world of Orange County and crafts for itself a unique identity in more ways than one that won me over and make it my favorite watering hole to drink great beer and relax with good people. Of every business I've ever been to, none make me feel more at home and more cared for than here. I've been all over in my craft beer (and subsequently whiskey, wine, cocktails...) journey, speaking personally and geographically. It all started with great japanese bbq and the perfect complement, a japanese asahi beer. Eventually it would lead to wine-beer hybrids, 19% bourbon-barrel aged stouts, and funky sours, but while they were fun to experience...I came back to where I started: simple and tasty beers that go down easy. That's where The Beer Co comes in. Started by family and friends with a dream and a passion, it combines the idea for laidback communal good vibes and beers of all forms that are full of flavor but not exhaustive or heavy. The diversity of perspectives on beer and business here lend itself to a well-balanced outlook on how to run a great craft brewery and what to serve. One of the brewers Nick is a hophead and the other Matt loves to experiment with everything, finding what's crushable and fun. Front of house you got Cedric the fun-loving business bro and his wife Anne who designed the whole space and even hand-knitted the mexican blankets on the couch herself! Everyone here comes from customer service backgrounds so they want to make sure each and every person that walks through the door is taken care of and leaves with a smile on their face, eager to come back to this "cheers"-like getaway. As an introvert myself, sometimes the hyper focused attention from employees can feel overbearing or disingenuous, but not here. These people are happy to talk your ear off if they got time, play a round of cornhole with you, invite you in back to see the magic, and just be real with you. They are obsessive about making sure people enjoy themselves and an empty glass is never around for long. I swear they're not paying me so I'll get off my soapbox and get down to details. The space is a bit tucked away in the craft beer classic business district off the Miraloma Trail. Only a humble sign telling you where to park for beer leads to the humble abode. There are spots marked 'reserved' that you don't have to feel afraid to park in, they're for you, I swear. Be careful parking near the end of the lot as there is a business who flips cars and may tow you if you're in his area (his employees are nice and will let you know you gotta move). The interior is this really cool mix of beach and desert vibes to me, with high ceilings and a long U-shaped concrete bar so lots of folks can hand around to talk to each other. There is a nice wall-long couch that I appreciate and plenty of barrels and tables. The place typically has about 12 beers on tap all the time, everything from a jolly rancher sour to a malty pale ale. Anything hoppy isn't too high on the IBUs since it's meant to be balanced and easy-drinking but it's got plenty of flavor too and isn't watery like a lot of places I hit up. One very cool thing is they got beer cocktails, including a mojito, pb stout smores float, and of course the mexican cerveza michelada. They sometimes have some infused beers with chile too. If that wasn't enough they do an iBrew system where they can make beers for you and let you choose your flavors to add to their bases and get them in a day or two! How crazy is that?! Another brewery in the books. Definitely worth coming out this way for their beers. Wished they were closer. Matt is one of the owners and made sure we were well taken care of. No near-empty glasses left unattended! If I liked sours, strawberry fields would have been it. It's not sour much. But I'm picky. My favorite was a mix between their surfeza Mexican ale, their jalapeño surfeza, and the Belgian shandy. Missed them on the PB stout. Maybe next time!
