Not sure where all the good reviews come from? Perhaps from friends or relatives of the owner, no? I really wanted to like this place but I just can't. In fact, it's horrid. The drinks are too sweet and syrupy. There's only a hint of whatever flavor you've chosen - to taste. The texture of the avocado smoothie is icy with loads of syrup avocado- blended. No real avocado included that I can tell of. The almond milk tea is very sweet and probably made with almond syrup which has a watery consistency. The peach ice tea was the only bearable of the 3 drinks but compared to other places I have experienced, it's awful. This is a poor's man boba place in taste but not in price. The price is a little more expensive then the ones in Bellaire. If you are not particular about boba, this is the place to be. If you are someone like me who enjoys really good boba, keep going south on Barker to I-10 and towards the beltway until you reach Chinatown. Pick just about any boba tea place in Bellaire and I guarantee it would be better than this. I hoping the owner/s will read this and do something about this travesty of a place! Honey Teahouse has a nice atmosphere where you can relax. If I had the time, I would definitely relax and get some work done. Their boba menu is somewhat limited. I've been to boba places where they have an extensive menu you have a hard time deciding or you just give up and get the usual since they menu takes up half the wall. Originally, I really liked this place, and this was the only boba place I would go to in this area. I used to loveeee their Vietnamese sandwiches, but they went cheap on the ingredients now. They used to put "Jam" in the combination sandwich which made it good, but not any more. Now they barely put anything in the sandwich and it just tasted so plain. Their price for a sandwich is considered expensive, but the quality isn't equal with their price. Recently, they even gave me bread that wasn't fresh at all. It was still cold like it was just taken out from the fridge. I also used to really like their drinks especially Green Apple Green Tea, but their drinks aren't the same any more. After my drinks came out, I asked them if they could redo my drinks cuz my Green Apple Green Tea tasted too bitter. It seemed like the girl that made the drinks put too much green tea and I couldn't taste the Apple Green Tea in it. They redid the drink but it was even worse the second time. It tasted like water. They also spoke bad words in Vietnamese that even pissed me off more. This place price is considered expensive, but the quality is just so crappy. Coworkers and I decided to try this place from our usual Le's Teahouse.. BIG mistake! I put in an order at which they said 15 min.. 20 min later and I still had to wait! We bought four drinks and a sandwhich.. $20!! Almond, green apple, mango and taro milk tea. They aren't labeled or anything so it was hard to even tell which was which! Then when we finally tried them we were disgusted by how sweet the drinks were! We even got less sweet on two of them. There was a weird taste my coworker kept mentioning and as for mine it was so overly sweet and only had the taste of creamer or milk it tasted nothing like the flavor it was supposed to be. I had the milk tea with coffee jelly. The jelly was very yummy! The milk tea was strong and flavorful. They had very cute decor. I will definitely be back to try some of their other offerings. I did feel a little cheated as my cup was about an inch away from being truly full. read more

I've been here a handful of times, the only reason I continue to come here is because it's close to home. the location is easy to get to, it's clean and there's plenty of seating. however, the service/language barrier is difficult to work with. every time I've been here they've gotten my order wrong. they don't understand me and I have a hard time understanding them. their drinks are decent, and their banh mi is a little on the stale side. so I'd just stick to the drinks. read more

I used to come to this place ALOT when I was working at Top Sushi. And I never EVER had a bad experience. Until today. I got a milk tea with egg custard. And it just didn't taste right, it was way too strong for me. And I've had milk tea at multiple places. So I asked the lady if I could exchange it for something else. She told me, "Oh, that's how milk tea is. That's how we make it." But she didn't seem to understand what I was asking of her. So my fiancé asked her in Vietnamese, "Can we exchange it please?" And the lady just shook her head no. Didn't say sorry, or anything. So we threw the whole cup away. With no option of a refund or an exchange. My fiancé and I both work in the restaurant business. We know how this works. And when a customer is not satisfied with their order, we make them another one or we ask them if they would like something else. No questions asked. read more

Green Tea Smoothie tasted bland, no discernable matcha or green tea flavor. Also not a fan of the artificial non dairy creamer, they should consider carrying almond milk or some other alternative creamer. Most consumers like those who frequent Starbucks don't mind the upcharge for a non-artificial alternative to dairy. read more

I've been coming here for years and have never been disappointed. The place is a great study space or after school/work hangout. It's nicely decorated. I really love most of the drinks and the bahn mis are great! My only critique is that some of the cream teas taste a tad bit off and I think that's because they use syrup flavoring with the milk teas which generally won't go well. In general powder flavor goes with milk tea and the syrup goes with the regular teas. That's my only critique. Of course, the teas are all still great regardless, but I just think that one thing could be a bit better. Overall lovely little cafe with tasty food and drinks! read more

The two stars is for the nice cashier. Everything else I would give zero stars. They didn't have Tapioca on a Saturday afternoon. They charge you .50 cents for using credit/debit if it's less than $10. My drink was $6 and waited 15 mins for it with no one in line in front or after me. Absolutely not worth it. I agree, the place must be rated by family or friends because this place is not good!! Ordered green tea and was way too sweet. My brother drank it and told me it was disgusting. The price was expensive than the usual. I was so happy they opened a teahouse nearby but sad to see that it does not meet up to standards. I still prefer the ones in china town. These drinks don't even taste authentic. Also tried the milk tea and it doesn't even taste like milk tea. It's ok- a little below decent but manageable to drink. I also had a peach tea and that was the only thing I felt was ok to drink and actually tasted like a peach tea. Really, I won't be coming back. This place is right next to my house and so I was ecstatic when it first opened. I know a lot of the reviews on this place are rather negative but I really enjoy this place. I always get the taro milk tea with tapioca and I always enjoy it. The tapioca is nicely flavored and usually has a very nice consistency. And the staff is extremely nice and welcoming, especially the manager/owner. read more

I wish I could give a lower rating. I bought drinks here multiple times before, and I would order my thai tea without ice. And every time, they would only serve me a drink 75% full! I held my tongue back, because I don't like to trouble others. But by my fourth visit, I had to put my foot down. I politely asked to have my cup filled to the top. It all went down hill from there. The server threw a hissy at me saying, "you only payed $4.95 for this drink" and "you just payed for extra tapioca not extra tea". She made sure to make her annoyance apparent by jerkingly remaking the drink, before handing me the drink with a death stare. That is the kind of service you will find here. I am so excited that they opened a bubble teahouse near me! Best thing about this is that they serve coffee drinks too. I asked them to make an off the menu coffee blended drink and they did. It's was awesome and I said that they should add it to the menu. Not many teahouses have the coffee drink. Also this place also serves the snow ice that you usually can only find in Chinatown on Bellaire. They also have sandwiches and desserts here too. Awesome place will definitely be back. read more

I was excited to see a milk tea shop opening near my house. With frequent milk tea cravings, my poor car was suffering the long drives to Bellaire and beyond. First off, when you enter the store, you are greeted with a strange sweet, fruity smell. It wasn't necessarily a terrible smell, but it was enough to make you question what was happening to your olfactory senses. Ordering was simple and easy. The drinks itself was a bit more expensive than other places, but it wasn't anything ridiculous. When the drinks came out, they were a bit on the icy side. The drinks were sweet (which is probably why they put so much dang ice in the cup). My friend ended up throwing her drink away and I was nursing that baby for a while. Overall, I wouldn't come back unless it was an absolute milk tea emergency. Though the distance is convenient, I would rather spend time and money getting something worthwhile. read more

Don't waste your money here. The prices are a bit ridiculous for what they offer and they charge for every little thing you want to put on a drink. The smoothie that I had gotten tasted like something I could make at home. If you're looking for a good place to get drinks go to Fusion 36. I have to agree with some of the previous reviews about the iced teas and milk teas being WAY too sweet. We got a pineapple iced tea and coconut milk tea. They had good flavor, but it was sugar-city! We also got a strawberry kiwi orange smoothie. This was much better sweetness-wise and tasted of fresh fruit. We'll probably try it again but will stick to the smoothies. read more

I love the atmosphere and the fact that it's kid friendly. They are not good at explaining what things are if you have questions and I had a couple about their BBQ sandwich. The drinks are too sweet. I would have loved the avocado smoothie with half the sugar or even less. It's cream based, meaning sweetened condensed milk. The fresh fruit smoothies I got for my kids were crazy sweet and just like a slushy. Fresh fruit and syrup perhaps? I won't get those again. I will go back because I am curious about the teas but it's not somewhere I'd hit up weekly or maybe even monthly. I liked it just enough to keep exploring. read more

I tried this place twice. My hubby used to fall in love with bubble tea in Bellaire area so he is happy to have teahouse near our house. Since they have promotion buy 2 get 1 free, we decided to give it a shot. I ordered avocado smoothie with tapioca and also try coffee milk tea and jack fruit milk tea of hubby . Avocado one was alright but tapioca kind of chewy. Jack fruit smoothie has too much tapioca, and I think they put too much ice. Today, I came buy to get strawberry smoothie, milk tea for hubby and nephew, I got fresh sugarcane with coffee jelly. That was the worst sugar cane juice I ever had in my life, I think they did pour more water and ice into sugar cane, I didn't even taste any sugar cane. I spent almost 4 bucks for a little cup of coffee jelly with "water"???? Price was little too high compare with another teahouses in Bellaire but I don't mind bc it was near my house which is more convenient. Service was nice but I heard a lot of Viet sound bc the owner is Vietnamese. They did sell some of Vietnamse snacks and sandwiches. i don't think I gonna give it a try later on. read more

Last time I came here, I ordered a couple drinks including a few Thai teas. IT WAS HORRIBLE. The tea was so bitter an the boba was very hard and chewy. It's also very pricey compared to other tea houses. I wouldn't recommend you spending your money here. They could do a lot better. read more

I've only had the milk tea with tapioca and egg pudding, and love it. It's a cute place and I highly recommend going there, but be prepared to wait. Their customer service is terrible. I understand it's a small business, but hiring someone to run the register full time would make this place so much better. I stood there for 5 minutes before someone came to take my order. Ordered a peach ice tea that was undrinkable, asked to change it for a simple black coffee but was denied. Went ahead and purchased a coffee anyway, which was clearly just instant coffee crystals.
