3 Piece Tender (Plain) with plain waffle fries

I was wondering why the line wasn't long and now I understand why. This food is super basic. I ordered the Chicken Tenders and they tasted like Sam's Club frozen tenders. Ordered the plain Wings, they were small party wings and not much flavor. The only thing that was decent was the order of Waffle Fries and that's only because they were piping hot and crispy. On top of all that, they charge 50 cents for sauce! No sauce comes with the chicken and none complimentary either. Never heard of that before. I figured if I got plain wings I'd get at least 1 sauce included. Nope. Wasted $26 in the process and ended up going to Shake Shack next door for a burger. Only reason I gave this two stars was because it's black-owned & the food was super hot. I will not be back.

Even though I only gave this place 3 stars, we ended up getting food from here twice because my kids loved the fried chicken and donut idea. It was like they got a meal and dessert all in one. There was no line for this place, but the wait for your food took long. The chicken and skin were tasty, but we had one thigh that was super tiny...almost like it was a baby thigh. I didn't try the donut, but my kids seemed to like it. Each bucket also comes with fries underneath so $11 for all that isn't too bad of a deal. I ordered a lemonade that was good, but had a slightly syrupy consistency - maybe it's sweetened with simple syrup?

So think of this as a food court place - bc it is in the MGM's District "food court". They have awesome sweet tea but you might want a lot of ice or some water bc it is like syrup... good but WOW it has some suga. Hubs and I both ordered the chicken tenders and fries ($10). It's served with about 4 chicken tenders and a small handful of seasoned fries. The tenders are weird cuts of chicken.... odd shapes.... and they're really thin. They serve it with a side of buffalo and a side of ranch - they don't have any other sauces. It takes a while to get the food when they're busy-ish - I'd say it took us about 10-15 minutes to get our chicken after we ordered and there were several people in front of us - they give you a buzzer after you order so you can go find a table nearby and don't have to haunt the hallway by there - which is good bc it's a crowded walkway with other fast food joints nearby and those people also ordering and waiting. It wasn't amazing - but it hit the spot for a quick bite.

Had the first bleeding fried chicken in my life... We ordered four meals and all are rare inside. Even worse, one of our friends is pregnant... Got full refund, and their attitude was good. But waited for a long time for the second round and the chicken was still not "fully" cooked.

The chicken was dry. The fries were like Arby's fries with Checkers seasoning. The fries were a little salty. The quality for the price was not justifiable. I would come back to this establishment only if I won big at the casino.

1.5 stars Background: Honey's Fried Chicken and Donuts is located in the "food court" area of the MGM casino/hotel. The restaurants in this food court and Tap are the only eating options open before 5pm (the Steakhouse, Fish, and Osteria looked so lovely from the outside). Decided to give Honey's a try because there was no line but in retrospect, that should been my hint. For a place that solely does chicken and donuts, I expected it to at least be better than Popeye's or KFC particularly given the price point (the meals as pictured totaled a little over $27!). The staff was friendly and the cook apologized for the undercooked raw chicken which I thankfully noticed when my friend had taken a few bites. We took it back and showed the cook who had the grace to look chagrined and he offered to make a new batch. He brought out the "new" cooked chicken but cold fries. We pointed this out and he made a fresh batch of fries. I had given up on the chicken the moment I saw it was raw and settled for the Fries. The donut tasted stale. My friend enjoyed her fried chicken once it was cooked properly and kudos to the staff on making sure things were good in the end.

Donuts and fried chicken - deadly, delicious combo in the heart of the food court at MGM National Harbor. Completely love the concept and definitely was happy to give it a chance and try it out and it did not let down! Came on a Saturday night, it was around 7pm and there was no line and got our food within 10-15 mins. Guess we lucked out! I got the drum, thigh, donut bucket that included french fries. I started with the french fries, they were they thick steak fries and were actually pretty good. I decided to be good and save the donut for dessert and went onto the chicken next. Now, I completely despise this adjective but honestly not sure how else to describe it...it was so MOIST! I was expecting some over cooked dry chicken but it was the absolute opposite - which clearly made me really happy, lol. Ended with the donut, which I regret because it was no longer warm, but it was still really good. More of a cakey texture with cinnamon sugar on top. Definitely worth trying, I highly recommend it. Eat the donut first!!!

The fried chicken was crispy but flavorless. You'll need a lot of sauce or salt or anything just to give it some kind of taste. The donut was also a bit disappointing. First, you can't even choose the donut that they have on display. You only get the sugar raised with your chicken and you have to buy an extra donut if you want something else other than the sugar raised. I ordered extra for my son, and i thought it's expensive for $3 a piece. The donut itself is not impressive. It feels like you're eating a cake not a donut. While it was really tempting at first, i probably wouldn't go back. The girl that took our order was friendly enough, though.

My husband and I needed a quick snack and decided to try this place. One plus is that the chicken was hot. The wings were so small with hardly no meat. One order of 6 wings equated to maybe two chicken wings and for the price needless to say, we will not be back.

Because of my beautiful little fit-thrower, I did leave early however I was still able to get a little nibble of my food before we took it to go. For my drink, I ordered the "Waaaay South" cocktail. Let's just say it had me waaaay tipsy (positive). For starters, I had the fried green tomato salad, crab cake, and Jamie's cornbread. Everything was good, but I have to highlight the Jamie's cornbread. It was so moist and melt in your mouth, honey. For my entrée, I had shrimp and grits and it was okay. At first, I wasn't sure it was going to be enough food for two people, but I was definitely wrong! They started us off with four fried wings and the fried green tomato salad. The wings were really good, and the dressing on the salad was delicious. The fried green tomatoes were so good, I could have eaten the whole plate by myself! Then the Mac and cheese came out, followed by the catfish and chicken and waffles. By the time everything hit the table, we were stuffed! We did order an additional order of wings because they were so good. Everything else was good as well, and the presentation of the food was really nice. Everything came out looking appetizing and well put together. Our server, Niecy, was very nice and attentive. She made sure we were taken care of throughout the meal. I also want to mention that everyone working in the restaurant was friendly, which really added to the overall experience. I only have two suggestions: * The bathrooms need better lighting. I felt like I was using the bathroom in the dark! * I think they should give you more than four wings for two people with the family-style meal, especially since the wings were so good. Overall, we had a really good experience. The food was good, the portions were filling, the presentation was great, and the staff was friendly. I would definitely go back! I'm glad we decided to give this place a try because it really is a hidden gem.

Back in the day, Aldi stores had product that was poorly merchandised and the interior of their stores reminded me of food pantries. Very uninviting, disorganized, basic and off-brand...so I avoided them except for the occasional crate of strawberries or piece of fruit - which I would quickly buy, then leave. That was about five years ago. I bought a lime one time I think, but I was building up my nerve over time in small doses lol. I started going into a few more Aldi locations consistently about two years ago after someone turned me on to those CLANCY'S chips. Couldn't believe how good they were and for such a ridiculously low price. For many years prior I was going to regular grocery stores or Walmart/Target spending $4-$6 for a "family size" bag of chips that's two-thirds air anyway. Where those KETTLE brand chips were on "sale" for $2.50 a bag. Otherwise, $5 a bag. I don't buy chips from anywhere other than Aldi now. Same chips $1 a bag, or less depending on which you buy. Although limited, their produce is suprisingly good too. And even some organic stuff if that's your thing. An Aldi cucumber - 49¢. A Safeway cucumber - $1.29 An Aldi avocado - 69¢. Safeway/Giant - $1.59 Mixed salad greens, Aldi $2.49. Safeway - $6. They even sell a smaller size where Safeway only sells the $6 plastic package. The lines are often too long; you bag your own groceries (so bring your reusable bags); no self checkout; buy your plastic bags; all maladies not uncommon to the traditional chains these days so no big deal there. Oh, and you'll pay 25¢ to rent a cart but often people are leaving as you're entering and will offer theirs. Either way, also no big deal. The chips got my attention and reaquainted me with the Aldi brand. I've migrated into the produce so who knows what's next. I'm still working my way up! Pleased to report that Aldi's has also remodeled most of their stores. The chain has grown on me and no longer makes me itch. Scoring = 4 Also, owned by the same folks that own TRADER JOE'S.

We eyed it the night before while driving into National Harbor, and thought it would be an ideal place to go - so off we went. Silver Diner is a chain with several locations in the MDV area. It wasn't crowded when we arrived shortly after 8am, so we were seated right away. The space is large with a combination of booths, tables, and a counter - very typical diner. There was a hint of retro vibes here, and as a whole the space looked great. Like many a diner, the menu is extensive with a variety of cuisines. The breakfast selections were pretty standard, but we noticed they offered some specials on weekdays that consisted of a breakfast dish, coffee, and juice. We all decided to order a special - and I went with the jack cheddar cheese omelette. I had a choice of meat to add (I went with sausage), and the dish also came with hash browns and a biscuit. The food itself was good - solid diner fare. The reason why I'm giving such a low rating is that there were major breakdowns in service. Coffee service was relatively slow, we did not get any juice nor were we asked to order it despite being part of the specials we ordered, my colleague wasn't offered any breakfast meat with her dish despite it being advertised as it being included, and my dish was served with a side of fruit instead of hash browns. These were fixed, but there was just a multitude of misses that really impacted the meal. Perhaps we came on a bad morning, but my experience at Silver Diner wasn't the best. I would consider giving them another shot, but I'm not running back.
