Let's start with the prices. Each pot is the same price at 30$ regardless of what broth you get. You are free to change it out at anytime and get any refill without paying more. Unlike some other hot pot places I've been to, this place only charges for one pot and not for the food you get. I ordered everything that was available and it was all better then the last. I would especially recommend the pork, it was delicious! I had 3 orders of it. As I mentioned before, the food is delicious! While I couldn't get a photo, there was also a sauce bar. You had the option to get a premade one or get your own. I chose to make a teriyaki sauce and it was amazing! Definitely recommend checking it out while waiting for food to arrive. The waiter was so nice, I didn't catch his name but rest assured all of the staff is so nice and kind! They are very informative and know what dishes are good and bad. Now for the part that is hardest to nail down, the restaurant ambiance. They have a bunch of different sauces in the center and "recipes" to build your own mixture. I went for the lunch special ($17 for 10 items). I think the options on paper are very good, you get 10 items (2 meat, 2 seafood, 6 veggie), but then you realize that you have to swap your items to get a soy product, noddle, or side dish. For example, soy products swap for a seafood/meat I believe which isn't really equivalent. When the food came, it was very unflattering and small portioned. The beef looked like scraps and cooked into a small, not even inch wide/long piece of food. Imagine a penny, that's how small one slide would be. The broth was okay, nothing special. I actually thought the pork bone broth was funky tasting. The green peppercorn broth was okay, it had a smidge of the peppercorn flavor I look for. The sauce bar was pretty decent. They had chicken feet, kimchi, and some fruits. The chicken feet were decent. A side note though for people not from Pittsburgh, the tap water tastes horrendous. It tastes like someone's stinky breath with backwash. I couldn't drink it. I just hydrated with some grapes. The waiter was very pleasant! We had to wait for about 5 minutes and we were able to be seated. Our waiter was great. He explained how the process worked in great detail and took our drink orders. It is $31.99 for all you can eat in 2 hours for the Hot Pot. The space is HUGE. They also have a make your own sauce bar. 4.5 stars. This Hong BBQ & Hot Pot restaurant opened in mid-2024. It serves all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ and Chinese hot pot. Customers may order one or both. Please see my attached photos for the menu in June 2024. So far, my husband and I have eaten one lunch and one dinner here. For both visits, the seating hosts and waiters were very prompt and courteous. My husband and I chose to order *both* the hot pot and the BBQ for about $38 per adult. For the hot pots, many soup bases, meats, seafoods, vegetables, tofus, rices, and noodles were available. We chose the original broth, mushroom broth, pork broth, brisket, chicken, lamb, spam, pork belly, shrimp, scallops, swai fish, sweet potato, shiitake mushrooms, oyster mushrooms, lotus root, shrimp dumplings, and chicken dumplings. We ourselves cooked these foods in the broth, similarly to a fondue. Cooking times ranged from about one to several minutes depending on the specific food. For the BBQ, many meats, seafoods, and vegetables were available. We chose beef bulgogi, NY strip steak, angus steak, steak with special sauce, curry chicken, sliced pork, pork belly, mini sausage, and garlic shrimp. We ourselves cooked these foods on the tabletop burner. My favorite food is the beef bulgogi. Furthermore, a buffet area contained many sauces, many fruits, and some desserts. The menu listed many non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages. My husband ordered a passion-fruit tea with yakult (4 stars), and I ordered a strawberry-orange tea (5 stars). read more
