Grilled Qing Jiang Fish (must pre order) forgot to take picture before eating so this is what was left!

The food!! The service!! Such a great experience and looking forward to going back for more. We had the pre-order fish dish that was life changing along with a shredded potato dish and green beens, all packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. Highly recommend ordering stuff you wouldn't usually and going with what the server recommends to have a more authentic Chinese meal. Cheers!

Dry cook eggplant- spicy and delicious!

Now called "The Top" Chinese restaurant in Clinton. Seriously best Chinese outside of the International District in Seattle. Excellent and authentic Chinese food. Service prompt, food hot, vegetables cooked perfectly. Panoramic view of the water, ferries, and mountains in the distance. Owner is friendly and attentive. Top notch food!

    View from the dining room.

I had the Lunch Specials with a friend. I had Mongolian Beef and my friend had Chicken With Cashew Nuts. The servings were plenty for us to each share. Both dishes were excellent. The service was also excellent. I will eat there again in the future as I live on South Whidbey Island. This restaurant has one of the best views of any restaurant on Whidbey Island.

    Crispy Szechuan Fish

Had my first meal here on a Sunday night. We were hesitant to try on our previous trips to the island because of the old reviews but I'm so glad that we did! We had the Szechuan crispy fish and green beans. Both were delicious. The fish was incredibly crispy and well balanced. The green beans were fresh and well cooked. Both dishes were authentic Chinese cuisine. We sat by the windows at sunset and the view was incredible. The owner gave us a tour of their bar space, anime shop, and new renovations they are planning. Excited to come back and try more Szechuan food and see the space develop!

This Chinese food is still terrible ever since the new owner bought the place. Safeway has better Chinese food takeout.

The food is bland. The flies are plentiful. We had been there before and it was better. Today it was unpleasant.

The young lady working there was very friendly, polite and had a smile. Sat outside it was nice. It's dog friendly which I like. Visiting family on the island thought I would try the Thirsty Crab Brewery. I will be recommending this place. Definitely will be going back before I head home. Every time I visit family here on Whidbey Island I will be going there for beer. I was able to visit before heading home. I would recommend Thirsty Crab Brewery to anyone that likes beer.

You need to go straight through an intersection just before the brewery, turn on a dirt road and then it will take you to the parking lot. Hopefully directions have been fixed since then by somebody but if not be patient in getting there. My phones were exhausted and running on empty so alas no pictures were taken here unfortunately. We still needed some GPS navigation to get in a homebound direction. There were a lot of good looking beer options here so what we did was get a taster flight which was a wise choice. Some of the beers we had that made up that was a Key Lime Lager which was great. It tasted similar to the dessert and was easily my favorite. Alpenglow was another, also a lager that was pleasant and refreshing. We continued with the unique brews of a Nettle beer, a mango lager and the May Bee Lager. We also got an order of some of their brats from the food truck here. Those weren't too bad, perhaps not the most authentic I have ever came across but enjoyable nonetheless and pairs well with the beers that they have available here. Fun brewery to go to and one that should be stopped at if you are visiting the breweries, cideries, meaderies or wineries on Whidby Island.

Put your name on the list and then wander a bit, you can work up an appetite. We had a lovely meal. I had the northwest scramble, and it was full of tasty bites of salmon and mama lil's peppers. Husband had the Reuben and was unable to finish it as it was a fairly large portion. The staff is some of the sweetest I've experienced. They were kind and friendly throughout our experience, even though some patrons were less than nice about the wait times. Well worth the wait!

Theres plenty to see so it didn't feel like a long wait. Husband got the breakfast burrito. He said it was really good, only con was that the salsa that came with it was like an ice slushy which would have preferred not cold. I got the salmon hash which I thought was one of the best hashes I've tried. The eggs and potatoes were seasoned and cooked perfectly and there was a lot of salmon - good ratio of everything. Only other con was that after we got seated we waited 30 mins to get our food. But service was really good and we could tell the cooks were busy with other tickets. Overall we really enjoyed our meal and would definitely come back if we're on Whidbey again!

Praised as the "Best Pie Place" in Seattle, I had to see for myself what their pies were like. Situated in Langley, its a small storefront that is connected to a similarly sized cafe. In front there are some parking spots that usually aren't full. They sell pies by the slice, whole pies, and there are even frozen whole pie options available in the freezer. There is complimentary water but not much seating options. The pies are baked daily I believe BUT if you have the chance to get one of the freshly baked pies (only been on the shelf an hour or so), you'll get some of the most beautiful crust experiences. All 3 times I've been I've reached for the Marionberry pie and every single time it's been a hit for whoever I end up bringing here. They have gluten free options for the pies as well but there is no guarantee that there would be a gluten free option for every pie-- I could be wrong on that, I would recommend calling in advance. A wonderful little pie store for a lovely little town, I would definitely come back again! The first time I asked the person behind the counter about the flavor profile of their Marionberry and their seasonal flavor, they were super helpful and descriptive. I saw that they now sell their pies through retailers now which would let me have their pies without having to travel as far. Love the pie here and love the ambiance of this small store!

I ordered a slice of apple pie; the staff kindly offered to warm it up, which was a thoughtful touch and appreciated on a cool island afternoon. The slice arrived warm and comforting -- flaky crust, tender apple filling, and a pleasant cinnamon note. It wasn't a showstopper for me and felt a little overhyped compared with the glowing word-of-mouth, but it was a solid, satisfying pie slice that hits the nostalgic notes you want from a bakery apple pie. If you're touring downtown and want a convenient, friendly spot for pie by the slice (or to take a whole pie home), Whidbey Pie is worth a stop. If you expect an unforgettable culinary revelation, temper expectations -- it's reliably good rather than transcendent.
