The food wasn't good, the egg roll tastes super weird. i highly do not recommend. My boyfriend ordered the egg drop soup and he said that it tasted off.

General Tso's chicken w/ fried rice

If you have seen my reviews on Chinese restaurants, you know I love me some General Tso's chicken! I judge most of these restaurants based on either this or the sweet & sour chicken, but I feel if you are Chinese takeout spot, General Tso's should be up to par. So one day a co-worker wanted to order from Hong Kong House because she had it before and felt it was better than our typical delivery spot. So I gave it a try. The General Tso's chicken WAS ALL THAT AND THEN SOME! Ohh, I was about to call our go to spot and fire them. The chicken had the right amount of spice, and the rice was very good. I just had to have this again! ONE WEEK LATER It was storming outside and nobody felt like leaving the office. Hong Kong House was on my mind. I ordered myself and received what was the 2nd nastiest GTC I've had in my life! The rice was still good, but the chicken was very grisly and just tasted so bad, I had to make sure I ordered from the same restaurant. I almost called our normal spot to apologize for cheating on them. FOUR MONTHS LATER Apparently my coworkers still love this place and invited me to give it one more chance. Help me to understand how this chicken went from the "King of GTC" to "Was That Chicken" to "Okay Chicken"? Again, the rice was on point, but the chicken was having Identity issues. I'm going to give them another shot, but next time, it will be the sweet and sour chicken. I'm not giving up on them yet. But GTC is official out for me!

This is one of those interesting sort of places that at first glance your not sure if you should go in or not...but we did! Yelp told us to, and since we have learned to trust yelp implicitly, we couldn't be but so afraid of the place! Although the decor was a mish-mash, and the order up window looked very jail like in style and appearance...we're adventurous enough, and decided we wouldn't judge a book by its cover or was this their cover?! Ok bad joke, let's move on! The workers/owners were friendly, and served up flavorful egg drop soup...much thicker then the kind I am use to but actually really good (and nice to have something a little off the beaten path that I am accustomed to). Does size matter?! Well, we seemed to think so! The chicken teriyaki sticks were the biggest I have ever come in contact with, and very good! I hate to end with a "meh" but to be true to myself and the honesty of this review, I have to mention the chicken Lo mein...which just had an odd taste. It was almost as if the noodles themselves tasted stale if that makes any sense. It threw off any other flavor, and ruined the dish as a whole. Other then that, our eat in visit was nice enough. The food was pretty good overall, the workers friendly, and the cleanliness was on par. All appreciated. The Lo mein could have been a fluke thing, it was our first visit here....but when it's your main dish it matters.

Beef and broccoli, fried rice and a shrimp roll. It not only looks great it tasted great too. With tax this meal only cost $7.20. I will definitely be going back to try the hot smoked sausage meal.

Tried this place for the first time after my go-to "jade garden" temporarily closed for renovations, I've heard about this place before but wasn't feeling daring enough to venture out. The location is small, it has a small dining room area but it gives off more of a takeout only feel (for me at least) we ordered 4 meals, 2 were their $6.25 specials and 2 were regular dinner entrees m: shrimp foo young, sweet & sour chicken, chicken chow mein & Yatka mein, the place smelled great but I didn't get ahead of myself as smells can be deceiving...we got home and cautiously tasted our meals, The food was great! Flavorful, freshly made, and hot. You can taste the freshness, nothing had that frozen, stale, blah, sitting under a heat lamp feel that a lot of local Chinese places are known for, overall we were all quite please, this is officially my new Chinese takeout spot.

I always get the hot tea, a great start to the meal. Overall, I think the seafood fried rice is okay, I'd rather go for another meat like chicken or beef. They have pancit, which was decent. The mapo tofu is very tasty, but I wish there was more ground beef. Spice level was decent, but I would like it spicier. The garlic eggplant is one of my favsssssss!!!! A sweet soy sauce/oyster sauce taste. The Peking duck is very good, skin is crispy. The char siu pork is also very flavorful. THE WALNUT SHRIMP, it's always a winner. This is my husband's favorite. The white sauce just pairs so well with fried shrimp. The dumplings and Rangoons are thick. The dumplings are covered in sweet soy sauce. Very tasty. The pork belly was crispy just like Filipino lechon. I really enjoyed the custard buns. I do love that they have dim sum available to order all day. We have been here many times, and the dishes are always very good. They put a lot on the plate. This is definitely a place for family style. A must try!! We will be back.

I called earlier in the day to see if we should make reservations, but was told they wouldn't be busy. Well, we got there and while they had plenty of tables at 6:30PM, but 7PM that place was completely packed! They had lots of carry-out orders happening too, which all made the kitchen a little slow. We ordered many dishes to share and all started coming out one after another over the next hour until the beef & broccoli was the last dish. Again, I attribute the slowness of the kitchen to their being so busy. At least all the food that came out was very fresh, tasty, and piping hot. Some interesting items that were quite good were their potatoes and green peppers. This dish is something I've never seen before but was pretty good! It features long julienned potatoes that they clearly soak in water before wok'ing with the peppers - that was all that was in the dish, but it was still tasty. Their Fish in Chili Oil & Bean Sprouts was really tasty and fresh! The fish is flounder. Their spicy wontons in chili oil were very popular with our group too. Service here was friendly too and helpful. Like I said, we tried many items, so many more than I just outlined and all were nice. I'd definitely return for a slightly more elevated Chinese menu from what you get at the typical Chinese-American joints.

While the exterior of the establishment appears quite understated and traditional, the interior is an absolute masterpiece utterly breathtaking from the moment you cross the threshold. My friend had very wisely arranged a reservation for me in advance. As I was dining solo tonight, I chose a beautifully convenient, intimate table that allowed me to fully take in the surroundings. The attention to detail here is extraordinary; the serene atmosphere, the curated decor, and even the traditional Chinese attire worn by the staff create a thoroughly immersive and sophisticated experience. I found it deeply admirable. The hospitality was nothing short of impeccable. A wonderfully gracious waiter welcomed me with immense warmth and escorted me to my seat, demonstrating a top-tier standard of service throughout the evening. To begin, I treated myself to a Lychee Cocktail my absolute favorite and it was mixed to perfection. Following a most pleasant conversation with my waiter, I decided on the Soup Dumplings for my main course. They were a absolute revelation extraordinarily fresh, delicate, and bursting with rich, complex flavors. It is no exaggeration to say that this establishment feels like a hidden paradise rediscovered. Between the flawless service, the stunning ambiance, and the culinary execution, it receives full marks from me. A magnificent experience

My family and I (5 people) came in to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday dinner and there was nobody but us in the restaurant. The first thing I noticed was the server. He was dressed in jeans, hooded sweatshirt, a beanie and had a toothpick in his mouth. A bit out of the ordinary but to each their own for proper attire in what I would deem a upscale-ish restaurant. The real issue was him taking our order, seemed rushed. As we were deliberating and figuring out what we wanted. My girlfriend was talking about the scallion bubble pancakes. He came over and said, "I overheard you said the scallion pancakes, did you want to put in that order?" My girlfriend said no, she wanted everything to come out all at once. He said ok and then we walked off. Next thing we know, the pancakes came out WAY ahead of everything else we ordered. By like 15 minutes at least. When my girlfriend said something about it, the waiter said, he said outright " I never heard her say not to order them, she never said anything, and they are out right now". No apology, no I'll go ahead and fix that...nothing. When we we on the way out, we talked to the owner about the experience and the only thing he mentioned was that, the server was new and it's hard to find good employees because they revolve so quickly. Which wasn't really an answer at all. It was definitely a 180 degree turn from the first experience we had here which was 5 stars all around. I think given the experience, we unfortunately won't be coming back
