It was late Friday evening around 8:10pm and most of the restaurants were closed at around 7:00pm. We went to HK2 Plaza to check out if there is still a place that is still open. The ToFu King in the same plaza has already closed and we spotted Hong Kong Kitchen but have never tried it. It only had a few reviews and about 4.2 stars. We have decided to give it a try. Once we sat down, a menu was quickly provided. We asked the waitress for some advice and decided to order the following dishes: Beef Navel with Rice in Clay Pot - Great - Beef was delicious and tender. Signature Steamed Pork - Good - It was cooked with a pleasant and tasty flavor. Seasonal Vegetables in Soup - Excellent - The broth itself was flavorful and yummy with a thousand year old egg as base. Hong Kong Style Wonton Noodle Soup - Great - Wonton has large shrimp and is tasty. Lemon Tea - Good - like any Hong Kong style lemon tea. This place is a hidden gem with affordable pricing and tasty food. We are definitely coming back for more.

So glad they opened a location near us. Walnut was too far. They always have deals and staff is always kind even when it's super busy.

We had a sumptuous lunch in this restaurant. The food literally brought us back the nostalgia of being in hong kong. Amazing food quality, great service from the staff too. Will definitely come back to try other food in the menu.

The food and service were great. We ordered the beef and pork plus eggs rice noodle rolls, roasted squabs, sirloin wonton noodle soup and house special fried rice. We like the rice noodle rolls, squabs and fried rice a lot! Very tasty!!

First time at this location for a late supper. Service was pretty good nice ladies. Ambiance ok it's a tiny place few tables. Reminds me of a home style type of atmosphere with family style food. Good food we had the Spareribs and black bean sauce rice hotpot and the chicken one. We also had the chicken wings with pepper salt very tasty.

There is so much joy in discovering hole in the wall places where the foods are served and the first taste hits your memory buds just right. That is the joy that came this morning, from the first sip of the fragrant milk tea, to the steaming wonton, and the morsels of spareribs ladened over steamed rice rolls. The restaurant must be newly opened because the interior looks newly remodeled compared to the rest of the plaza that has clearly seen better days. The entire plaza needs a major renovation because it is depressing and old. They need to start with the parking lot, which is clearly a liability for all vehicles!!! The ladies were so sweet and kind, even offered us refills on our way out. The flavors for very authentic for a cha chan teng, which brought back so many childhood memories for me. I loved the way everything tasted just as I remembered without the frills. Just good comfort food. Made fresh to order so expect a little wait that won't disappoint.

It took about ten minutes for us to get a booth table, but we were waiting inside. The staff member called numbers firstly in Cantonese then in English. After we sat down, the waiting line persisted past 1 pm. Similarly, the bustling loudness continued on during the course of our meal. Food arrived quickly, however. The price point for the delicious food is competitive. We got French-style filet mignon ($18.99), braised tofu in brown sauce ($14.99), chicken chow mein ($14.99), and a steamed rice noodle roll with barbecue pork ($5.99). A pot of rice was included in our meal. The steamed rice noodle roll with barbecue pork was a nice appetizer that arrived first. I enjoyed how the French-style filet mignon was garnished with Thai basil, black pepper, and ginger. The meat was flavorful and tender. The braised tofu in brown sauce was consistently hot on the inside. The delicious brown sauce soaked throughout the vegetables. The chicken chow mein didn't have a lot of sauce, but it was still delicious with a lot of meat included. Overall, it would be nice to visit again outside of a peak time because the food prices are competitive. The menu is expansive, and the breakfast selections look interesting. The atmosphere during the Sunday lunch peak time was consistently bustling. I think the restaurant started to play Chinese music loudly at random points so that people could finish dining more quickly.

We were placed in the back room, which felt a little more calm compared to the main dining area. Service was good. Our waiter was fast, friendly, and really on top of things, which made a big difference since it was packed. Ordering is simple, they give you a paper menu where you mark what you want and hand it back. We ordered tea for two and picked a bunch of dim sum: jumbo shrimp har gow, shrimp fried wontons, steamed rice noodle roll with shrimp, baked abalone sauce BBQ pork bun, poached Chinese broccoli, and custard egg tarts. Everything came out fresh and hit the spot. The har gow were plump and juicy, the rice noodle rolls were soft and silky, and the BBQ pork buns had that perfect slightly sweet, fluffy texture. The egg tarts were a great finish--warm and flaky. We did end up only getting 5 out of the 6 items we ordered, but honestly we were already pretty full at that point so I didn't feel like making it a big deal. Also... we were so hungry we totally forgot to take pictures of the rest of the food Overall, a good dim sum spot, however I felt like the prices were a bit higher than the other dim some places I usually go to. The food here is mediocre at best and the service is just awful. They make you feel like a burden and inconvenience right from the bat and refuse to acknowledge you. We were ordering with a waitress then she suddenly got frustrated when we tried to order the honey walnut shrimp and threw her hands in the air and called someone else over. The tall Asian guy who took our orders also made us seem like an inconvenience and even walked away in the middle of us ordering. He kept this same attitude throughout the whole time. My parents were excited for the 99 cent chicken deal they had and wanted to order more and the same guy refused to acknowledge their questions and ultimately told us it was 1 order per table. This is fine if that's their policy, but it was the way he was acting. He made us feel that we were cheap and stingy wanting to take advantage or get cheap eats. If you don't want people to order this cheap dish, don't have it on your menu or advertise it! Also, we ordered plenty of other foods. Beware because this place seems like they're scammy. I ordered a pot of rice and apparently they charge rice per person so regardless of how many people you have, you still get the same pot of rice but more expensive. This makes no sense even when I questioned them about it. When we tried to ask one of the cart ladies about ordering a football from the fried section, she gave us another item instead and when we opened it up, it wasn't what we wanted. They kept trying to push more items on our table to get our money even though we repeatedly said no. They also charge for sauce and didn't tell us. Another waitress (who we didn't even interact with throughout our time) chased me down trying to pressure me to tip more. I have no problem tipping, but when the service is like this, I am not going to leave a 20% tip like usual. I will say the kind busser here was exceptional and although he didnt speak English, he was so kind and honestly made my day. Everyone else here was rude and unwelcoming. The mediocre food here is not worth the outright disrespectful and terrible service.

Another staff member was also unfriendly and gave attitude the entire time. I also did not appreciate being pressured about tipping. A tip should be optional and based on good service. If the service is poor, customers should not be made to feel uncomfortable or confronted over it. On top of that, they add extra charges when using a credit card, including a fee if you spend under $30.
