Came here for dimsum in the past, but this recent visit was for an evening meal. It was a larger party, so we had a private room next to the restroom hallways. The food was decent and fortunately not too salty. Loved that they provide bo lo baos during the evening after our meal, along with red bean with a sesame tong yuan dessert to end our meal. Everything was very fresh, including the lobster and fish. There's plenty of options to choose from on the menu, so there's something for everyone.

My friend wanted to come here, so I said why not. It's definitely a classic spot. I didn't see any carts, but as long as the food is good, I don't mind. The place was pretty busy. We ordered quite a few dishes that I haven't seen at other dim sum spots before, which was a nice surprise. The food was definitely good, but the overall wait time wasn't great. We were seated pretty quickly and didn't have to wait long for a table, but the ordering wait time was terrible. It was hard to flag someone down to take our order. I think we spent the majority of the time just waiting for someone to take our paper, and it was frustrating because they would say, "Oh, I'll be back," but then never came back. At one point, one of our dishes was also forgotten, and we had to ask about it several times... so there was that. Overall, the food was good, but the wait time and organization of the service could definitely be improved.

This is usually the go to dim sum spot for my family and I. It's always busy but it's also super quick, I think the longest I've waited has been up to 15-20 minutes. Inside is quite spacious and there is plenty of staffs with decent customer service. Now let's talk about the food. They have a moderate amount of options for dim sum. It is also not cart service, although, they do carry out trays for you to get sometimes. The food could be a hit or a miss and I still think their shiu mai there is still one of my top choice. The turnip cake is served in a broth based rather than fried. The rice wraps could be a tad better since the ingredients does tend to fall out easily. Otherwise, they are able to host wedding, events, and birthday parties if needed.

Always packed, fast service, but too expensive for what the food is. The shrimp was the highlight of the meal, chicken cartilage was a let down flavor wise, and the soup and noodles were very average. Fish was very fresh, you get to pick your fish so the meat is very firm and soft.

This review is for hosting a WEDDING banquet at Happy Harbor in Rowland Heights. I helped plan a wedding here. I have to say it was tough at first because they do not have a designated event coordinator. There was a lot of back and forth. What was really helpful was the main guy spoke English, Cantonese, and Mandarin! Ultimately you need the wedding date and the number of guests. You choose the menu, napkin color, and table cloth color. Extras: They had two microphones with stands and a small stage for the sweetheart table. The audio system only reached the main room. There was a big screen in the main room to play a slideshow. The backroom seemed to have their own audio and two screens. We could not figure out how to connect the two, so the guests in the back room had to come out to the main room to see/hear what was going on. -The lobby is large. Good to set up welcome table. -There is a small private room behind the fish tanks. This was where vendors took their breaks. The wedding I helped plan had just under 280 guests, so they took up the main room (20 tables) as well as the back room (7 tables). Some tables had 11 seats but same amount of food. Because of the number of tables, there was no dance floor. I heard compliments from many guests that the servers were efficient and helpful. They served wine properly. Overall I would recommend Happy Harbor for a large event. Side note: Happy Harbor gave us a contact of a guy who did white seat covers with ribbons. That guy only had a two-person team and did not finish all 270 seats. In fact he stopped just under 20 tables and did not get any in the back room at all. He also set up with the spandex seat covers, which is not what the bride wanted.

Classic Chinese seafood restaurant with lazy Susan tables and endless menu. The interior of the restaurant is huge with many tables, yet always seems to be packed. Service here is also classic Chinese seafood restaurant - but I come for the food. All dishes are tasty and authentic here. A bit pricey, but worth it!

Revisited one of the first few restaurants I came to when I first met my husband for dim sum and it was a better experience than the first time. Dim sum was ordered on paper and they bring out the dishes you ordered rather than the pushing carts, which I don't see as often anymore anywhere. They were busy , but we were able to get help whenever we flagged them down. The vibe was busy noisy Asian dim sum mornings which is familiar for Asians. It was spacious with the high ceilings but the tables were packed together. It's in the 99 ranch plaza so we walked around afterwards before needing the bathroom. There is plenty of parking in the parking lot Food was good but haven't found the most amazing dim sum yet. But we will be back

Located just next to the 99 Ranch in Rowland Heights, I've been told that Happy Harbor is the main destination for those in the area looking for some dim sum. And whenever I pass by to grab groceries, there always is a line early in the morning even until late afternoon. So with a curious stomach, I stopped by on a Sunday around 12PM. First thing first, big mistake. When I arrived, there was a large crowd waiting outside. And after taking a number from the host, I waited for about an hour to an hour and a half before I was seated. If looking to come here, definitely come early! Looking at the different dishes, the price ranges from about 5 dollars for a small, 6 dollars for a medium, and 7 dollars for a large. Compared to other restaurants in the Greater Los Angeles area, the price is on the lower end and is better from a price to portion standpoint. In other words, it explains why so many people were in line to eat here. But taste-wise, the food was only mediocre. This definitely won't be the best dim sum you've ever had, but it certainly won't be the worst. Looking at some of the dishes I had, I enjoyed the beef tripe and spareribs as they both were rich with flavor and had lot of juicy parts to them. But for most of the items like the tofu skin rolls, siu mai, shrimp rice rolls, and beef rice rolls, the taste was mostly surface level. Texture-wise, they all tasted as one would expect. But there wasn't really any part that screamed WOW. These comments were pretty consistent with most of the items here: good stand-alone meat items, but only okay general items. Looking back on my experience here, I suppose one cannot complain about the price and what you're getting. After all, the amount of people waiting here definitely indicates that there is good food to be had. But with the only okay taste and generally neutral flavors, I'd give Happy Harbor a 3 star rating. If you're looking to have dim sum in the Rowland Heights area, this might be the best around. But if you're looking for the best dim sum? Best to find somewhere else!

Dim Sum pg 1. Price ranges of: S (small): 5.19, M 6.28 (medium), L 7.28 (Large), XL 10.88 (X Large), and XXL (XX Large) per dish order.

Haven't order yet and will update once I finish the meal with my extended family here. It won't let me post pre ordering. So I put 4 stars based on menu. But so far the menu looks really good and super reasonably priced. Many unique and new options that seems absolutely interesting to try. Large tables and groups are allowed and welcomed.

Went for CNY 2026 dinner. The place is filthy. Chairs are sticky, artwork is ripped, carpet is nasty. The Punchoi had duck feet in it! Not a recipe I would use. Paid a fortune and it was blah. Never again!!! The servers were good, the restaurant is not.

Overall: 4 stars. On other weekends, we usually have around a 20-35 minutes wait for a party of 7. Memorial Day Saturday weekend, many people were probably out of town because there were a good amount of tables open. Service: 3 stars. Waiters forget requests from time to time (napkins, hot sauce, the check) but at least for a party of 6 and a baby, tips were not automatically charged. However, we did get billed $1.98 tea for the baby. I told them upon entry so make sure you check before pay. I love dimsum food though at the end of always over ordering, the total price reminds us we can't come every weekend. $5.18-$7.28 for each tasty dish.

Food is very good, authentic Cantonese food. But prices are not cheap. They have several rooms for you to reserve that comes with a minimum $$$. We usually have Dim Sum here and it gets very crowded. But today we came for dinner. They always have live fish but expect to pay premium. You can get 1 fish but eat it 2 ways. We had ours steamed and the head fried in pieces. Very tasty

The parking is VERY bad here but you'll find parking if you go farther towards the supermarket side. Yes there is always a wait here especially on peak weekend hours but the lines move very fast. You do ideally need a mandarin/cantonese speaking person however since majority of the staff don't speak english if you need help. The menu is huge with all your traditional HK cafe foods including a separate breakfast and lunch menu. The must have beginner items are the Iced Lemon Tea or the HK Milk Tea. They have changed the policy so you only get ONE refill now then you'll be charged for the 2nd refill! There on-going promotion is BOGO 1/2 steamed chicken or add $3 if you want soy sauce chicken. A very common deal in the rowland area however this place isn't the BEST for steam chicken since its abit lacking in meat and flavor buts till a good deal for larger parties. The other go-to items here are the walnut shrimp, french style filet mignon, egg plant with garlic sauce casserole. Get the short rib version if you want more protein! All of these dishes are super authentic and delicious and very consistent every time! There are secret menu items not on the menu like the stir fry two types of noodle with salted vermicelli(咸魚肉片炒雙麵/炒雙營). It's a classic HK dish with thin egg noodle and chow mein noodle mixed together. This chow mein becomes super crispy while the egg noodle remains soft. The saltiness of the salted fish goes great as the main carb. The service here is great with very attentive waiters. Yes you need to be aggressive to get there attention like at all Cantonese restaurants! This place is great for small groups to very large parties since they large tables and even private rooms available too.

I ordered the 鮮蝦餛飩湯麵 / shrimp wonton noodle soup ($13.99). This took about 15 minutes to arrive; when it did, it arrived piping hot. The noodles had decent spring and texture despite being thin. The wontons also had silky wrappers, but crucially didn't rip or disintegrate. The fillings also had properly flavorful and plump shrimp bits - no filler. The stock was also rich. This was textbook execution. In Cantonese fashion, the simplicity belies the execution and attention to detail. Note that the breakfast menu entrees include one hot drink (coffee, milk tea, HK style coffee & tea, Chinese tea, or lemon tea). 1 refill only, +$1.99 for cold drinks, +$1 for to-go cups.

We also ordered their steamed rice rolls with shrimp and chive and you can tell it was made fresh by the wrinkles in the rice paper. The last item we ordered was their chinese sausage clay pot. It was exactly what we were craving. Crispy rice all along the edges with perfectly steamed rice, chinese broccoli and crispy chinese sausage. It was hard to choose because their menu was huge and we came late so we missed the pineapple buns but definitely need to try it next time. After we sat down, the waiting line persisted past 1 pm. Similarly, the bustling loudness continued on during the course of our meal. Food arrived quickly, however. The price point for the delicious food is competitive. We got French-style filet mignon ($18.99), braised tofu in brown sauce ($14.99), chicken chow mein ($14.99), and a steamed rice noodle roll with barbecue pork ($5.99). A pot of rice was included in our meal. The steamed rice noodle roll with barbecue pork was a nice appetizer that arrived first. I enjoyed how the French-style filet mignon was garnished with Thai basil, black pepper, and ginger. The meat was flavorful and tender. The braised tofu in brown sauce was consistently hot on the inside. The delicious brown sauce soaked throughout the vegetables. The chicken chow mein didn't have a lot of sauce, but it was still delicious with a lot of meat included. Overall, it would be nice to visit again outside of a peak time because the food prices are competitive. The menu is expansive, and the breakfast selections look interesting. The atmosphere during the Sunday lunch peak time was consistently bustling. I think the restaurant started to play Chinese music loudly at random points so that people could finish dining more quickly.

Everything we ate was really tasty, however, it is not the best quality. Service is quick, even though they are widely busy. They are truly trying to service everyone as quickly as possible. They have lots of variety, and I love that they still push out the dimsum on the traditional carts.

My family said to arrive at 10 AM because it gets really crowded and of course around 10:30 AM it was definitely crowded. The wait time range from 30 minutes to an hour depending on your party size. This place still has carts where the staff would push carts around and serve the dim sum dishes around the entire restaurant and you get the pick and choose, and whichever you choose, they will stamp on your paper form and it'll be added up within the end for your total. We ordered a ton of different dishes. My favorite were the shui mai, it was actually everyone's favorite. I also enjoyed the pork spareribs, chicken feet and sesame ball. Unfortunately, the inside of the restaurant did have an unusual smell. I laughed when my son said it smelled real bad inside and had to remind him to be respectful as we are not too sure why it smells like mildew or off water. It was also so loud and a bit chaotic that I felt super rushed eating for some reason I think the combination of everyone moving around talking loud and the off smell wasn't a good experience for me. Overall, it was a bit expensive. My family did pay a pretty big price, but we had a party of 10. The restaurant also had plenty of live fish and other crustaceans for seafood dishes and they are displayed near the entrance. I am not sure if I would come back on my own just because of how chaotic it was, but my family does enjoy coming here for nostalgia reasons and I do enjoy being around them here. In the morning, this plaza has plenty of parking near the end, but it can get really crowded once it gets towards lunchtime around 11 or 12Pm. If you do come, the elevator is always being used so try to use the stairs if you do not want to wait long the plaza is full of various stores and there's more parking underground, but luckily it was so early that we were able to find a parking space nearby.

It is super…read moreclose to the 60 freeway, but also super hidden within a plaza with other restaurants and you kind of have to drive in to find it. It is the first restaurant in the corner of the building. I remember Tasty Garden at a SGV location that used to be so popular but slowly fading away and later on closed down. I decided to give this location a try. I ordered togo, however when I picked up my order, I saw there were many seats available. Everything was packed very well and they didn't forget anything. I had two orders of Yang Chow fried rice (which included shrimp and bbq pork), and two orders of pan fried chicken steak + pork chop combo, which came with some steamed veggies, mushroom sauce, and a side box of white rice. The fried rice had wok hey and was good. The bbq pork was a bit tough/hard though. The chicken steak was pan fried really well and well cooked. The pork chop was a bit thin, but was crispy. I love how easy to eat the steamed veggies were. Everything was fresh and clean. My order came out quick and hot!! I am pleased to say this passed my quality of Hong Kong cafe test. I love going to hong kong cafes and trying each one out. I would definitely order again!

Usually, I would come here during dinner time and the place has great service. Staff members are always friendly and ask if you would like a refill on your iced lemon tea which yes you should get! They have it with sugar or without, I tend to get it without sugar but most people love and enjoy it with sugar. My favorite items are probably their pasta dishes and also their deep-fried chicken wings! It might take a little while to get but it is worth the wait. I love how crispy and juicy the wings are. Plenty of tables for large parties or small sizes but coming here with a group is nice to share and enjoy together.

The store itself is nothing fancy, very no-frills. Prices are very reasonable, which is the main draw here. One thing to note: rice or noodles are not included with your selections unless you order them separately or choose them as one of your items--and personally, I didn't find that option worth it. There's a wide variety of choices; some dishes were solid while others were pretty underwhelming, so it's definitely hit or miss. That said, for the price, it's still a decent spot if you know what to order and aren't expecting anything special.

The dishes no longer have that proper wok hei flavor, and the food tasted bad on my recent visit. What made the experience even worse was the service. The staff were rude, dismissive, and acted annoyed that customers were even there. One of the girls, the one with the ponytail, was especially rude and needs to learn basic manners. Another staff member was also unfriendly and gave attitude the entire time. I also did not appreciate being pressured about tipping. A tip should be optional and based on good service. If the service is poor, customers should not be made to feel uncomfortable or confronted over it. On top of that, they add extra charges when using a credit card, including a fee if you spend under $30. That already feels frustrating, but the bigger issue is the attitude and poor treatment from staff. Customers are the reason businesses stay open. No one is asking to be treated like royalty, but people come in to enjoy a meal and should at least be treated with basic respect. If I am going to be ignored, rushed, and given attitude, I would rather stay home and eat in front of my TV. I will not be coming back .. food quality and customer service Nate major improve.
