Food was sub par. Never have I ever had fried rice that was almost white rice, very little flavor, I think I may have found one little piece of carrot in it. Most fried rice has peas, carrots, egg and onions in it, sometimes pieces of chicken or pork. Service was fast, that might explain the poor quality. Looked clean. Spending our traditional New Year's Eve Day at the Marblehead Peninsula, my wife and I decided to try something different for lunch. Now I know you are thinking, "but Dustin, you are so close to Jolly Roger; eating somewhere else is heresy!" ... however variety is the spice of life, right? Intrigued by the giant "Lunch Buffet $6.95" sign hanging from the storefront, we decided to give Hong Kong a try. Eying the buffet table over as we proceeded to the order counter, I smiled and greeted the mom of this mom-and-pop establishment in Mandarin. When she frowned and looked at me funny, I realized that with a name like Hong Kong, they no doubt spoke Cantonese, and with my lousy American accent, she probably found my Mandarin indecipherable. Switching to English, I smiled again and ordered two for the buffet as well as two bottles of soda. While the price was reasonable, I had missed the 'cash only' sign on the door, so it took a couple of minutes for my wife and I come up with the necessary money. We then selected a table, grabbed what were quite possibly the cutest plates we have ever had at a Chinese restaurant, and jumped straight into the buffet! Over the course of the next 40 minutes, we sampled a little bit of everything there was to offer. While some dishes were better (beef and onion) than others (spicy chicken), nothing jumped out at us as being either particularly good or bad. Everything was as reasonably fresh as one might expect for a buffet, and while the quantities of each dish were not especially large (as is typical for a cost-conscious mom-and-pop restaurant), to their credit, they did cook more food as additional families came in for the buffet. Overall, we found Hong Kong to be pretty average in a strip-mall buffet restaurant kind of way, with nothing exceptionally good or bad. As such, we rate Hong Kong as being Good, and would return. read more

The food was horrible. The lady running the place charged multiple people different prices. She charged me and my family (3 in total) $30. Then she charged a couple of 2 $17.50, after that, she charged another couple of 2 $30.50. Even the fresh food was horrible. I do not recommend. I would give 0 stars if I could. read more

Egg drop soup with crushed red pepper is NOT Hot & Sour soup. The General Tso's was not spicy at all. The breading and chicken was moist. The rice and egg roll were both good. The 2.00 can of soda seemed to make the lunch special less cheap. The food was fine for what it is and the restaurant appeared clean and organized. No complaints. Excellent food and the lunch buffet for 5.25 is great. If they run low on something you want all you need to do is ask for more.

Don't walk away RUN from this place!! This has been the worst Buffet I ever experienced. I just about broke a tooth on the General chicken from the breading and once I got through that, the chicken was equally tough. The buffet was skimpy with food either tough or wimpy with no taste. My wife and I just had the best Chinese meal we have had in a long time. I had the beef lo mein and she had the General Tso's chicken. Both were excellent. We have eaten here before and had decent meals but this was great. My wife's chicken was, in her words, perfectly cooked and my lo mein was delicious. I could go on and on singing their praises. I guess if I had anything to complain about it would be the fact that they only accept cash, but a trip to the ATM is definitely worth it for the meal we just enjoyed. read more
