We get take out 2-3 times a month and we're always happy with the food. The selection is huge like any other Chinese restaurant, the food is always hot and FRESH and the portions are huge. Best Singapore Noodles around, and our new favorite is General Gau it's like General WOW!!! Sooooo good!! If you're on the fence about trying them, I say Jump off and try them, you won't be disappointed. I'm not being paid for this is any way, and I don't know them personally. The nice woman behind the counter is always so polite and always assures me (they don't use peanut oil) that my food is safe, with my peanut allergy. Their food is the best we've ever had & will now be our go to for Chinese! Good little family owned Chinese restaurant for take out, delivery, or dine in. Located at the JCT of Route 28 and Route 128. Hong Kong Taste offers Hong Kong, Szechuan, & Cantonese dishes, 15 lunch specials, and 15 combination plates (served all day). The dining area lacks atmosphere with red booth seating and a TV on the bar counter, but the food makes up for it. On a recent dinner visit, I dined in and was given complementary tea and ice water. The Red Sox game was showing on the TV. I ordered a combination plate #10 ($8.05), which had 4 chicken fingers, 4 crab rangoons, 2 chicken teriyaki sticks and roast pork lo mein with duck sauce & hot mustard for dipping. The good portion of food came out 10 minutes later. The chicken fingers and crab rangoons were very hot and crispy. The chicken teriyaki was chargrilled and stringy, but good. The roast pork lo mein was tasty with pork strips, water chestnuts, snow peas, sprouts, onions, and carrots in noodles. Disappointed as we were regular customers and have been recently told by May she doesn't need our business blaming us for her not understanding what we ordered. One of those places that's the epitome of average. There were many people who had raved about it in the area because they also serve liquor here. While we just did take out the dining room seemed clean and inside was neatly decorated. The haul of out order was veggie lo mein, scallion pancakes, egg rolls, teriyaki and pork fried rice. We have recently moved to Derry and decided to give this little place a try. Well, we are glad we did. Hong Kong Taste is a diamond in the rough. It does not look like much but I'll tell you that their food is outstanding. It is really just a takeout place though -- the dining room has no decor. Its a few tables and booths along with a bar and TV. For eat-in, it's not bad for stopping by to scarf down lunch, but not a place to think of as a dinner destination. Now, this two-star rating is not because the food isn't very good, it stays true to the definition of a two-star review on Yelp. In other words, "Meh. I've experienced better." I ordered the chicken fried rice and egg rolls, while my co-workers got a chicken finger meal and a pork and fried rice meal. We were all left with a kind of "meh" feeling afterwards. The portion sizes were good, and the family that owns the restaurant is VERY friendly, but the food is just okay. My egg rolls were almost gray inside and were pretty tasteless. My co-worker who ordered the pork didn't really care for her meal either. Were all in agreement, however, that the fried rice was tasty and served in plentiful amounts. As a side note, it should be said that the restaurant itself is pretty drab, and feels very unauthentically Chinese. But, based on the serving size and the price, Hong Kong Taste is worth a visit.
