The atmosphere, food and drinks were on point! We had homemade bread and olive oil to start. Then shared a prosciutto bruschetta app. which was very good, except I like the meat to be more thinly cut, chicken risotto, veal saltimbocca with home made fusilli pasta and Chicken Alfredo with ziti. were all a very plentiful and delicious dinners. We shared a piece of pistachio cream cake as well! It was recommended by our waitress. Very good! Cocktails and wine were reasonably priced and a good pour! This was my 1st time going, but we will be going back. It is a small restaurant and it fills up quickly.

My wife and I tried Giabella's on opening night and were very impressed. For appetizers we started with the crispy cauliflower and the homemade meatballs, both were excellent. Unfortunately no pictures as we dug right in, a little extra sauce on the cauliflower next trip will make it even better. For mains my wife had chicken broccoli Alfredo and I went with the shrimp fried Diablo extra spicy. The shrimp was very flavorful and to my delight the tails were already removed. As for dessert we had no room left to try, next time we shall do better! We will be back soon and definitely recommend the sangria.

Don't get me wrong, our waitress was polite, but every time we mentioned something, there just wasn't any follow-through. I had asked for extra bread and a new napkin and they never arrived. When my boyfriend asked for more water, she responded along the lines of she was about to do it, which came off like it was an inconvenience. I also wasn't offered fresh pepper and had to ask for Parmesan cheese, which made things feel a little off. I ordered the Linguine ai Frutti di Mare with clams, calamari, mussels, scallops, shrimp, and a lobster tail. The seafood itself was cooked pretty well, but the pasta was heavily overcooked, which was such a bummer because we come here at least twice a year and usually look forward to it. Afterward, I asked if the pasta was homemade and was told you have to specifically request that. I feel like that's something that should be mentioned upfront when ordering. Also, I forgot to mention they add radishes to the salad and no one asked about allergies. When I got mine, there was a big radish in it and I just had to hope I removed them all, which wasn't a great feeling. I don't know what changed, but overall this visit just felt a little disappointing compared to what we're used to.

The food: Mostly hit as we hoped! Chicken parm was great, marinara was excellent! The surprise was the bolognese on my partner's spaghetti side, which was a bit bland, expected the opposite - both were still great to be clear. Chicken Caesar salad was on point as much as a salad can be. ;) The service: This is the real issue. Only two of us, and about 5 seconds after giving my drink order (while my partner was still ordering her drink) and getting a initial look of disapproval when ordering water on the waitress's first pass (wanted to look at the drink menu), I asked to swap the liquor in my Olde Fashion to something she mentioned under her breath when I first ordered it (took me a minute to process it). The waitress said it was "too late" with her handheld because it's instantly sent to the bar. If that's true, that's a pretty bad system, efficiency be damned. We were within earshot of many other tables - our waitress didn't explain dishes or specials like we saw/heard other servers doing (left us feeling regretful with our food choices), and she tried to take my card before I even opened the bill... this is after telling us we had to wait 15 minutes for a second round of bread (haha, which showed up 35 minutes later - petty, but annoying). Things were bad enough with the waitress that we actually asked to box up our mains shortly after receiving them (ate less than 10% of either). This was our second visit (first was takeout, which was great) and our first time dining in. Being in Customer Service and having a history in the restaurant industry, on the way out (after paying and tipping, aka not looking for a discount), I hesitated walking out the door and turned to ask for a manager. The front-of-house host said he'd speak as the manager and responded to everything with a sarcastic "that's unfortunate" / "that's our standards" / "that's too bad" / and sent us on our way. Not big complainers, hate doing it, but this one stuck with us, especially with the high praise and relatively premium prices this restaurant seemingly gets online -- bad taste service-wise, great taste food-wise. Looking around, most of the customers are of an older demographic, and again, most of the waitstaff seemed awesome (especially compared to ours). Would absolutely get the food again. However, as someone that lives on the North End of Elm St, I would never dine in again if this is what they consider acceptable service... what more can we do besides speak up about our concerns, after settling the tab... being told that's "normal" is gross in my opinion. Working in restaurants in the past, if that's their standard, then I distrust their entire approach to service.

The Chicken Parmigiano was cooked perfectly, had excellent flavor, but for me there was not just not enough cheese. I like my chicken to be covered- or most of it. The pasta was excellent. I won't be getting that again. We also got a Greek Salad, and 2 Add 1 Polpetti. I was told the salad was good, we couldn't add grilled chicken today because of issues on DoorDash, hence the Add 1 Polpetti. The only comment on the meatballs was that they came with no sauce- while they were tasty, they expected sauce. (Makes sense)?! Overall, the food was fresh, and flavorful. My friends had the salmon, mussels and calamari, and a steak tip salad-everyone loved their meals. For dessert we shared crème brûlée warm donut dessert with ice cream and whipped cream, which were amazing. Our server, Naomi, was the best-attentive, friendly, and sweet, always making sure we had everything we needed for a great dining experience. The restaurant was packed on a Tuesday night, which says a lot about how good it is. The two small cons: when I made the reservation on March 7, I included a note asking for a surprise birthday dessert for my friend Anita after the meal (I had planned to order the Swiss Chalet Cake), but it never arrived. Luckily we ordered the crème brûlée donut to share, which was fantastic anyway. I just wish reservation comments were reviewed so special requests like that can be carried out. Additionally, it was also a bit loud for a small restaurant, especially on a Tuesday night. Overall, everything was perfectly cooked and we'll definitely be going back again soon.

The location might surprise you, but the food absolutely delivers. They strike a great balance between dependable menu favorites and a steady rotation of specials that keep things interesting. Each of the servers has their own favorites and it is fun to try new things as you are feeling adventurous. The regular dishes are consistently well prepared, with generous portions and flavors that feel thoughtful rather than routine. The specials are where the kitchen really shows its imagination. They often end up being the reason you change your mind about what you planned to order, and it is clear the team enjoys giving guests something unexpected and memorable. Service is warm, the atmosphere is relaxed, and the food arrives with the kind of care that makes you want to return. One small note: they require a credit card to secure a reservation. It feels a little tacky for a neighborhood spot, but it is understandable given the size of the dining room and the impact of no‑shows. Overall, On the Corner Grill is absolutely worth visiting if you appreciate a place that delivers reliable favorites while still offering something fresh and unexpected. I was even able to move up the reservation when our plans changed the day of. The restaurant is in a random shopping complex in Salem, NH. We were driving North for a race so the stop here was a nice break in the drive. Not going lie, when we were walking towards the restaurant, it looked a tiny bit sketch - wrapping across all the windows. Slightly deserted shopping complex. But when we walked in, wow it was so beautiful inside, very spacious, huge bar to the left and then large dining area to the right. There were cozy booths lined up against the perimeter of the room. The staff was so incredibly warm and welcoming. We were a very loud group (sorry!); 12 adults, mostly dudes, laughing uncontrollably at all the dumb jokes. None of the staff was upset by this though; our server was so much fun and even joined in. Food is fantastic. HUGE portions. I love chicken parm, I also love eggplant parm. They have a menu item of both of them together. It doesn't get much better than that.

The cozy booths would be a good option for 2-4 people; much quieter and still affording good views of the room, decorated in a typical Italian theme. If you've read my reviews before you know I despise TVs in restaurants and they had several but I'm happy to report they were all in a separate bar space, not visible or audible from the dining room. We shared four appetizers and each got our own entrees. The apps we ordered were: Clams Casino: 5 good sized clams. Fortunately one member of our group of 6 doesn't like clams. The rest of us liked them. Mussels In Scampi Sauce: A big portion of very fresh medium-sized mussels. Lots of sauce which could have used more garlic and parsley, and bread should be served with it but was not. Antipasto d'Amalfi: Good for what it was but very expensive for the portion at $22. For our party of 6 we could have used two even with our other apps and entrees. (In general, the appetizers here seemed overpriced while the entrees were all quite reasonable.) Also, I think they left out the tuna which was listed as an ingredient - unless one of my companions grabbed it first! Stuffed Artichoke: Good flavor from the buttery, seasoned breadcrumbs, but not an attractive presentation. The leaves were mostly removed from the core and carelessly arrayed on the plate, making it hard to find the good ends and taking away most of the fun of eating this peculiar vegetable. My entree was Shrimp & Scallop Puttanesca with linguini. I'd rate it average. The sauce could definitely have been spicier and should have had more capers and olives. The shrimp wasn't the greatest though it was fresh. They left the tails on; one of my peeves. Scallops were fine. Pasta was correctly cooked but like all the pastas served here it was dried, not fresh. I'd hope an Italian restaurant of this level would have at least some fresh pastas but I don't think they did. The menu did say that all the pastas were imported from Italy though. The wife's Veal Carrozzella though was outstanding. I could tell this from the one bite I tried. It's listed on the menu as "Scaloppine of Provimi veal sautéed with egg-battered mozzarella in a sage wine sauce". Interesting how it was the mozzarella, not the veal, that was battered. Entree portions were large. I got 2 1/2 servings from mine, but I did eat a lot of appetizers first. The veal entree was also at least 2 servings. I had some interesting cocktails. One was a Honey Sazerac which hit all the marks for a good Sazerac. With its name I'd expect honey flavor but I didn't detect any. Unfortunately I don't remember the other cocktail except that it was on the rocks, fruity, and had some flowery flavor overtones. They had a large selection of "craft cocktails", and not all the same ones we see everywhere these days. One of my companions ordered a bottle of wine for the table which was excellent but I don't remember the name. There was a good selection, many of which were "affordable". Entree selection was very large, with many chicken, veal, pasta, and seafood items to choose from, most of the standard Italian dishes you'd expect and more. Only one beef item: a ribeye with Pizzaiola sauce. Now for the service. It was excellent. I found it slow but I realize now our waitress read the group perfectly who as a whole wanted a leisurely evening so she paced perfectly for that, giving us time to enjoy our first drinks before taking appetizer orders, not bringing the entrees too soon after the apps, and so on. We were there 2 1/2 hours. Her habit of reaching across the table to deliver and pick up dishes was a bit awkward and unusual but didn't really bother me. Our request to split the check 3 ways was handled cheerfully and accurately even though two couples were sitting side-by side and the other were across from one another. With all that food I had no room for dessert. Two or three of my party did get dessert and they looked interesting enough. I did have coffee but it wasn't good at all. Overall, definitely worth returning to.
