Last night, we ordered from the Local by Toast App and picked up dinner from Lilac Blossom in Greystone Plaza (650 Amherst St, Nashua, NH), and it was fantastic! Everything was hot, fresh, and so flavorful. We tried Victoria's pick: Twice Sautéed Pork, Chris's pick: Diced Chicken with Cashew Nuts, Liam's pick: Beef with Broccoli, my pick: Prawn Amazing with stir-fried fresh al dente vegetables, and of course, steamed white rice. Every dish was cooked perfectly--the pork was tender and savory, the seasoned chicken with cashews had just the right crunch, the beef and broccoli in brown sauce was classic comfort, and the 6 large prawns cooked to perfection were a real standout with their mildly spicy, sweet, bold, delicious sauce. The portions were generous, everything traveled well, and it honestly felt like a restaurant-quality meal at home. Lilac Blossom in Greystone Plaza in Nashua is all about abundant portions, amazing flavors, and great quality. We highly recommend giving Lilac Blossom a try if you're craving excellent or consistently fresh and flavorful Chinese food in Nashua or South New Hampshire. I used to love this place but we ordered takeout from here and were left disappointed. I remember a time when sweet and sour chicken ($17.95) and dragon and phoenix house specialty ($28.95) would come with white rice. We got all the way home and realized there was no white rice at all. We spent over $100 on our spread so I feel a container of white rice isn't too much to ask for. WTF is one to do with the sauce from those meals if not put it over white rice? They are designed for white rice and we were annoyed. I think every restaurant is going down hill but this was a tough one. read more

Hadn't been to Lilac Blossom in a few years. Went with my boss (friend) and we were not disappointed! We were met right away by a very knowledgeable server. The cocktails we ordered were perfect! The food was superb. You can tell it's fresh and cooked to perfection. I got a shrimp dish and my friend got a steak dish. I honestly think anything you get on the menu would be fantastic. The only drawback is the ambience. The tables are close together and not very large for such big dishes. A remodel to include booths or banquets would be great. But, their food is sooo good I would eat it on a sidewalk!! read more

While visiting family in Nashua for the holidays, we have had a tradition for over 20 years to order food from Lilac Blossom. My cousins and I say this is our favorite meal of the whole year! It is definitely the best quality Chinese food I have had (other than China Town in San Francisco). They have a wide-variety on their menu and the quality is always great! Even the day after Christmas, they had our large order ready within 30 minutes. Our only disappointment was we did not get any sauce for the moo shu pork, which is the best part! The service is quick and the servers are so friendly and kind. We came in with a six year old and baby and they accommodated us and made us feel relaxed. Good quality food at The Lilac Blossom but not 100% to my liking. First course wonton soup. Although the taste of the wonton soup is very good and the wontons taste excellent the soup has a lack of med ingredients. When I go for wonton soup, I like to see some peapods, shredded pork, bok choy, and possibly a few other veggies in the soup. This soup only comes with Wontons and a few pieces of scallion floating in it. The pork fried rice was very good and had apple amounts of barbecued pork. We also ordered chicken with vegetables. I found this to be a little bit on the bland side and to my taste, I would add a little bit of fish sauce. Additionally we ordered sliced ginger, pork with vegetables. All tasted very, very good, but I want to add the ginger pork was not spicy as shown in the menu. Don't be afraid to order this dish as it will not be too spicy. Overall, the dining experience was very good, the food quality was good, the only negative was the fact that the food was a little bit on the bland side and the wonton soup was missing vegetables. Came here for lunch today, South Nashua location. Got the Sesame chicken lunch special. Enjoyed the won ton soup and spring rolls. Rice was okay but was lukewarm at best. My problem was with the sesame chicken. The outside coating was good but underneath was mushy. Expensive at $16.95 for a lunch special that didn't come with a side. Spring rolls were $6.95 for 2. I'd like to try the one on Amherst Street next time to compare. read more

Christmas Day dinner. Seated right away even though not many available tables. Service and orders taken promptly. Had reviewed menu so knew what we wanted. Ordered Chinese Eggplant in garlic sauce, while not on menu, they prepared bok Choi in spicy lite sauce, Spicy & Salty shrimp, and Mongolian beef with scallions & broccoli. We had the tangerine chicken and the pan fried noodle lo mien and while they took a while to arrive they were both pretty good. We've gotten takeout here for a long time. Quality has varied between excellent to inedible. We would try again in awhile to see if they got a new chef after a bad period. I never left a bad review. Recently it's been expensive, but pretty good. Then a few weeks ago we got an order of Peking duck that was leathery, it was so overcooked, but it somehow still had unrendered fat in places. Today we tried again and got almost $200 in food and they sent it with no rice. When I called, the woman said they have a new policy as of late October that you have to pay a dollar for each rice. $23 portion doesn't come with rice. Ok. My son's crispy noodles were limp and oily. Other dishes had gigantic chunks of chicken and tofu, instead of bite-sized. We did get a big bag of fortune cookies though. That were stale. The food at this restaurant used to be phenomenal, but unfortunately it is no longer the case. My wife order Vegetable Lo Mein, and it had no flavor. When I complained to the manager about it, he became "Mr. Mean and Nasty" indicating that the cooks are "only human beings, they can only do so much when they have so many meals coming through". He did not even offer half off the next time we order. PLEASE PASS ALONG TO FRIENDS AND FAMILY THAT THE LILAC BLOSSOM YOU ENJOYED SO LONG AGO NO LONGER EXISTS. Six of us had lunch there recently. Food was ok, service slow yet restaurant almost empty. A contractor was mounting new large screen tvs about 10 feet from our table and was constantly drilling. The noise was ear splitting and really irritating. The staff seemed to take pleasure in our discomfort and irritation. We hurried through our meal and left. One of worse dining experiences one could have. How utterly clueless these people were! We will not return! read more

The atmosphere is that of a 4 star restaurant, the service is superb and the food...to die for! (Please love to enjoy it though!) The boneless spare ribs appetizer is the best I have ever had. All of the food is made fresh to order so you're not getting served from a behind the scenes buffet the way you do at most Asian restaurants. Maybe it was the Lo Mein or the dried out and rubbery chicken fingers I don't know!! I can tell you what I probably wasn't, and that was the steamed white rice! It's pretty difficult to fk that up!! Well, when we moved to Merrimack, NH, we were excited to find a Lilac Blossom right down the road. That makes our trip to the restaurant so disappointing. This YELP goes out to the owners. Hire a bartender and enough servers for the bar area. The bartender/server, currently has to cover both the 5 tables(could be 20 drinks) plus the 10 seat bar. Our server was very good, but he disappeared for long stretches. The food!!! Last night the shrimp lo mein was old, mushy and lacking in flavor. IT WAS NOT FRESH. Not edible. Not cheap. We took food home. Guess what? Some of our order didn't make it into the take-out bag. We ARE looking for a new Chinese restaurant. Owners, check into your restaurant, look at the quality of your food and hire a real bartender!!!! read more

My daughter recently recommended Lilac Blossom as a good place to get Chinese food & it was amazing! As this was the first night open for dining since the COVID19 situation it was not very busy inside. I had the absolute best dinner! The service was top notch & the food was exceptional! Definitely going again! I also asked to skip the pancakes due to health issues I have to watch my carbs & they accommodated by subbing brown rice. The brown rice was perfect! I worked late and needed to grab food as it was too late to cook. Kids wanted Chinese food so we stopped here assuming it was typical Asian restaurant (which I'm not a fan of). However, this place was amazing! We started off with hot tea- it was enough for three of us, the tea was fresh and not overly watery. Then the boys had egg drop soup (I typically won't eat). I tried a little bit of soup before giving it to my son, I needed to make sure it wasn't too hot. THIS SOUP WAS SO AMAZING! And I do not like most Asian soups. Then we had house fried rice and chicken and veggies. All of the food was great. The rice wasn't oily/ greasy. The chicken was fresh, the veggies were nicely cooked. Hands down- new favorite spot.
