Simple lunch buffet - 3 soups, the hot and sour was flavorful. Crab Rangoon and egg rolls, plenty of steamed veggies, and a variety of main dishes with a range of spice levels. Rice, fried rice and at least 2 kinds of noodles, plus dumplings. They have something for everyone. read more

Since the closing of our longtime family favorite Hunam restaurant, we have been on a mission to find decent Chinese food in Topeka. Finally, we have found a bonafide replacement! While known for their dine-in buffet, we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of everything in our to-go order tonight. The egg rolls and crab rangoons were both excellent and not skimpy on filling like most places. While we would like to see some vegetables added to their sweet & sour shrimp we found their cashew chicken and pork Lo Mein (asked for a touch of heat) to be exceptional. Everything was ok. Crab Rangoon stole the show as the only standout item we found. The rest of the food, as well as the service was just your typical Chinese buffet fare. Nothing outstanding, and a few dishes (such as the fried rice) that left a lot to be desired. read more

Keeping this facility welcoming and satisfying is ocurring every time we visit. Not the largest place in town but the food quality is excellent. The food in the food bar is refreshed often without 'piling the trays' The small strip mall parking provides easy access. Enjoy! read more

Their food is not too expensive, but the portions are small and not as tasty as other Oriental restaurants we have visited.

A typical Chinese buffet. There was nothing special about it but there was nothing wrong with it. I would eat there again. My wife and I had lunch there for a total price of $21. Anymore you can't hardly find a place this reasonable with a buffet. The place was pretty busy when we were that so that tells me they are doing something right. read more

Such a clean and friendly establishment. They have GOOD food on their buffet. It's flavorful and fresh. We had a large group come in an hour before closing and they still made sure fresh food was on the buffet and brought out extra food too. Love supporting locally owned restaurants. This is one of the very best American Chinese food buffets I have ever gone to. I'm a long haul trucker and I've had Chinese food in just about every state. They have very nice staff & they make food for the buffet in smaller batches. This results in eating fresh & hot food throughout your dining experience. Unlike other places they don't make one big batch of food and hope it makes it through the entire buffet time so they won't have to make more. Seriously, if you love Chinese food like I do then you know not much beats fresh honey chicken or General Tso's chicken. The flavor is good and not too salty as most Chinese foods tend to be. They are reasonably priced and could probably charge more and get it. I still have to wonder why the Chinese have never really made desserts but there are bigger issues to deal with. You won't find a better buffet in Topeka...or Kansas....or the Midwest...ah hell...or the country! read more

We've been here a handful of times. The first time it was awful and I'm not sure why we decided to go back... but we did. The rest of the times have been better. It's typical "Chinese" buffet food. Good selection and, since they've remodeled, much less cramped and much cleaner feeling. The price is good and the service is pleasant. We'll likely be back again for a cheap-chinese-food fix. read more

I went here for dinner on Saturday and found the place to be completely empty. It was evident that the food had been sitting there for quite some time, but it was fine. Taste wise i felt that there was a lot of salt in almost all the dishes so i guess it would be better to try this place for lunch which seems to be its mainstay. Overall i feel that the quality of food here is almost on par with Mr. Stir Fry but at a fraction of the cost. read more

Chinese food choices in North Topeka were limited to Dillons until Hong Kong buffet opened. The restaurant was recently remodeled and is very nice inside. The food has been excellent every time I've eaten here, and the selection, while not as large as those "mega buffet" restaurants, always includes the good stuff. The food is always fresh and I love that they cook everything in small batches. You'll almost never find food that has been sitting on the buffet for very long. They also have a huge freezer with lots of ice cream choices for dessert. The price is the best part: $6.29 for lunch, $8.99 for dinner, drink included. This nice little buffet is on the north side of the river and has three bars of food offerings. Everything was okay... as most buffet food is lacking in some way. They did have pepper paste and chili garlic sauce to add spice to the basic dishes they offer. There was really no specialty dish here to offset all the normal selections like beef/broccoli, general tsos, etc. The service is very good and the 2-3 people working the dining area never stop moving. It is a good place to get a quick bite or a lot of food, depending on your wishes. read more

We had not been in the Hong Kong Buffet for several years and a friend told us they had remodeled and the food was very good....so we gave it a try. Boy were we surprised. It was very nicely decorated and the food was excellent. We had pretty much given up on Mr Stir Fry where they have a huge selection of mediocre food. The last several times we went to Mr Stir Fry we told ourselves, "That is the last time we are going there." The Hong Kong Buffet has Mr Stir Fry beat hands down. They don't have the giant selection but what they do have is very good. Now we are there at least once a week and the prices are reasonable. read more

Went here for the lunch buffet. Some of the meat choices were cold as though they were just removed from the refrigerator. There was not a lot to choose from. The jalapeño chicken was OK. Overall, I'd say someone would be better off going to Ling's just down the street. This place is open much later than Ling's, but that's the only advantage it would have. read more

I've never eaten less at a buffet. went there at 730 PM and the food had been sitting out for a while with no attempts our whole stay to replace anything. Desert was all old and ice cream was rock hard. These other people do not know how to review. My wife told me she wanted to pay because she felt bad for bringing me here. read more

Servers are not friendly at all. Very abrupt. The food was so so nothin to write home about. They do have a good selection, however it's the same daily. My bigest issue was it's not very clean.
