We split a 3 meat order between 2 adults. Wow this is some really good food!! Coming late in day can be hit or miss for pulled pork at some restaurants BUT the pork was so moist at dinner. Garlic chicken is good with a little heat on the back end. And chicken katsu had lots of flavor, wish it had come with some gravy though. Mac salad was delicious. Service is really good. The staff takes good care of the lobby; keeping the tables & floors clean. We liked how they would check in with customers even though it's counter service. read more

Ok, I used to go to school in hawaii and also had more than my share of Hawaiian bbq all over, outside of hawaii. As I work for an airline, I've been back to hawaii more than 40+ times. Anyway, was excited to see a 4 stars rating, but once again, I was let down by Yelp. We had 2 Teri beef plate, chicken katsu, and Teri chicken plate. Quantity was smaller than expected. The Teri beef needs to be thinly sliced so that it would soak up the flavors as it's being marinated. This was not as the cut was thicker which also made it chewier. It was heavy on sauce, but the actual beef lacks flavor as you can tell they really don't marinate them. Katsu was typical, but chicken was a bit dry. Mac salad, which is usually my favorite. This is definitely a St. George staple, especially being right next to Dixie State University; the heart of the college scene here. It was busy when we decided to try it out. My man's aunt and uncle suggested it as they always go whenever they are in town. It did not disappoint. I was sad that they didn't have my original order, but it caused me to order the grilled mahi mahi and it was delectable. I enjoyed every single bite. The way they grilled it with the sautéed onions and tomatoes on top was the perfect addition. I also enjoyed how refreshing their cucumber salad was. It was the best way to cleanse your palate. Ok not to be dramatic but I had the teriyaki beef plate, and that had to be the BEST teriyaki beef I have ever had in my entire life. If I lived in St George I would be at this place constantly. Please please please try the teriyaki beef here. Look at the photos people have posted if you're not convinced. It's so good!!! My husband got the pulled pork plate. You can say it hit the spot or broke the mouth and either saying will convey the same message. The cashiers are expedient and efficient. We had a seven combo order along with drinks and they delivered correctly. After we sat down, some of their workers took our orders to the table. They came and checked on us mid meal as well. My wife had kalua pork and our daughters shared a teriyaki chicken combo. We ordered ours with salad and pickled cucumbers. Talk about ono'licious filling! They were out of some dessert items, but no worries as we will drop by again on our way up or way home. One of our friends we travelled with took us there on our way back from a Zion Mt Carmel, UT, & Page AZ trip. I also have friends that will travel from Mesquite AZ just to eat here. We got single plates and had plenty of food, but they also offer mini plates that have less meat and only one scoop of rice (good for kids or smaller appetites). My daughter had a mini plate of the katsu chicken that came with some dipping sauce. The sweet sauce they offer for the rice was really yummy. Everything looked and tasted authentic. Love a Hawaiian macaroni salad. (So creamy.) The cucumber salad was lightly sweet and tangy. Pictures are of the teriyaki beef, and kalua pork. We also got the mahi-mahi fish fried with sautéed onions and tomatoes. My husband said it was the best fish he's ever had. (Sorry no picture, we were hungry and ready to eat.) He said there was so much flavor in the fish itself, not just the batter, and the dipping sauce it came with was tasty, but you didn't need it for the fish to taste good. Not sure, but one having lived on Oahu for several years I am going to say these dishes were mediocre at best. Food: Overall was a 2/5. We ordered the Katsu chicken, Teriyaki Chicken, Chicken Curry, and Spam Musubies. Teriyaki did not even taste like Teriyaki, was some weird flavor baked chicken (1/5), Katsu was meh.. (2/5), Curry also meh.. (2/5), Macaroni salat was over seasoned with curry powder or something, not very good, (1/5), the salad was generic (2/5), Spam Musubis were unseasoned (1/5). Service: was fine and decent. They were VERY busy! Atmosphere: was okay. Dated used furniture, the layout was kinda cramped, their design and décor was pretty uninspiring. The serving area was a little bit grimy. Considering the theme of Hawaii and Honolulu they could have done A LOT more to add to the experience. It was dated but not terribly dirty. I am giving it a solid 2/5. I would not return here to purchase food again. But I do realize they are in a good niche for a washed-out limited regional restaurant experience. read more

Portions for the pork was a lot, teriyaki chicken portion was okay, but the Kalbi (which was an extra $2.50 I think) was just one slice cut into 2 pieces so that was disappointing. I was told the sauce on the rice was a teriyaki sauce but it felt more like a sweat gravy instead. I'm not a big fan of any of their Hawaiian entree menu. The sides and drinks are great though. Also, the portions are decent sized like any other Hawaiian restaurant. We stopped in on the way back to Vegas, and enjoyed some delicious Hawaiian style grindz... The garlic chicken was juicy and crispy and dipped in yummy sweet chili sauce. I chose the cucumber salad (aka namasu in Japanese) as a side, and was very happy because it was sweet and crunchy, just like at traditional Japanese restaurants. Hubby had BBQ chicken, which was boneless chicken thighs marinated in a delicous bbq marinade and grilled to perfection, and came with 2 scoops of rice. He chose traditional macaroni salad as a side. Sissy had kalua pork and cabbage with mac salad and enjoyed each bite of her traditional.Hawaiian plate. My absolute favorites are Kalbi shortribs, Teriyaki beef/chicken and Garlic chicken. Meats are cooked perfectly, so juicy and flavorful! All plate lunches come with rice and a choice of salad. Not many sides to choose from but the macaroni salad is definitely an awesome choice, unbelievably good! This place is clean, positively filled with great vibes and I really like that. Just wish they have a bigger parking. I had a hard time finding one. The seating was also limited during lunch rush but the wait wasn't bad at all. Large menu of all the Hawaiian specialties, served fast and friendly, inexpensive and high quality. Got the Hawaiian combo plate with kalua pork, BBQ chicken, and Lomi salad (tomatoes and salmon chunks), with cucumber salad. All of $11. Don't miss the $1.75 custard filled piping hot malesada (lightly deep fried donut with powdered sugar). All was really fresh and not too salty. Clean bathroom as well.
