We returned to Honolulu grill recently and it tasted how we remembered. Good service and all food was great.

Mini Garlic Chicken and Mini Katsu Chicken

Delicious. Stopped by instead of a fast-food restaurant and we loveeeed it. Fresh and healthier option and so good.

Bbq chicken was ok, but nothing compared to Mo'Bettahs!

I've been a long time fan of Hawaiian plate lunches, and a loyal fan of Mo' Bettahs. Finally the curiosity in me won out.. why was everyone saying go try Honolulu Grill and insisting it was better than what I had tried? I made the trek over to Honolulu Grill. First impressions did not wow me. While the place was clean, it looked like I stepped into a time warp into the late '80s or early '90s. Honolulu Grill's website looks equally dated compared to the interior of the restaurant. Prices are a little higher here when taking into consideration portions given at Mo' Bettahs. When you consider the specials/reward perks at Mo' Bettahs this place is a LOT more expensive. I convinced myself the added cost must mean they just take more care in the food. It is technically made to order here and they have a much more extensive menu. I ordered the BBQ chicken to compare one of their more popular chicken items to what I order at Mo' Bettahs. I was also intrigued with the coconut shrimp, because I'm a huge fan of coconut shrimp. I ordered both plates with rice as well as macaroni salad. The food was super hot, the wait was a little longer than expected considering it wasn't overly busy during my visit. Staff were polite, but I wouldn't consider the service anything over the top. Food wise, the chicken was ok, but it definitely didn't taste BBQ'd, more like baked (there wasn't a single grill mark). The coconut shrimp was a complete failure.. do not order this. Not only was the coconut shrimp excessively greasy, it was basically shrimp tempura covered in a coconut sauce. The coconut sauce on the shrimp tempura didn't give it much of a coconut taste, all it managed to do was make the shrimp soggy and more greasy tasting. The rice was average, and I actually didn't care for the macaroni salad. Sorry to say, the macaroni salad and chicken is better at Mo' Bettahas.. and way more reasonably priced. No, Mo' Bettahs doesn't offer coconut shrimp, but I'm willing to live with that... considering this coconut shrimp was a complete let down and quite expensive for what it was. My recommendation would be skip this place, go to Mo' Bettahs for better prices and quality in spite of their smaller menu.

Delicious and very very generous portions! It was yummy while we were on the road. Everything we tried hit the spot.

The food is good. The ambience is passable. It is self serve. A good place to get a quick, decent meal.

My favorite Hawaiian food. I had BBQ mixed combo plate and hubby always gets Loco Moto with the spam rice on the side.

I was overly thrilled that early this month they offered a buy one get one free regular plate - what a treat! (hoping they do this more often) I always get the chicken katsu and chicken teriyaki with rice and macaroni salad. Their macaroni is hands down the best I've had other than my own, and the rice super consistently delicious. This time around I had Arielle serve me who was a manager, and wow! What a fantastic person who embodies everything the company stands for. She was training when I arrived, but made sure to make sure the food I got was top notch. The katsu had been sitting for awhile and if I was able to wait a few minutes, she offered to make a fresh batch. I have to say, nothing beats fresh katsu. Thank you Arielle for making my visit extra special! ------ I just wanted to add a side note. After reading everyone's reviews about Honolulu Grill, I thought maybe just maybe there was a place that did it better. I second guessed myself one night and gave it a go. Not only was Honolulu Grill more expensive (more details on my review over on that page), the service didn't come close to this place, and no one can beat Mo'Bettahs food. Don't waste a perfectly good opportunity to eat more Mo' Bettahs like I did... just saying..

Used to be so consistent at Mo' Bettahs but they have gone ultra chain mode and just don't uphold standards anymore. Staff was friendly so that's the one thing I can say that's positive.

There were 4 people behind the reception table and that's good because there were piles of people inside! We were afraid we won't get a table fast because there were probably 30 people waiting both in and out. The receptionist asked if we're ok with sushi bar. We said yes and we were seated in 3 minutes, way ahead of everybody! There are 2 sections: habachi and sushi. We were of course seated at the sushi area. Our server's name was Star and she was lovely, highly attentive and efficient. We ordered sushi and yakisoba and everything was fresh and tasty! I highly recommend this place and will definitely come back next time we're in St George!

The reason for the one star review is the quality of the food. The food was bland and lacking seasoning except for the soup which tasted like you were putting salt directly on your tongue. We tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, but the next morning I woke up with severe food poisoning, and spent the whole day stuck in my hotel room sick. We've called the restaurant, left a voicemail, and wrote in. We have not heard back. While we were initially excited to try this restaurant after driving by it for years, we will not be returning, and won't recommend this venue to anyone. They seem to have more focus on branding and being flashy, rather than proper food handling.
