Overall sad that I came here. The food isn't horrible, but it's not good. If this is your only experience of Hawaiian style food, please don't let this experience shape your opinion of good Hawaiian food! What we ordered: -Hawaiian plate - says it comes with lomi salad but it only came with rice Pork and pulled chicken? Didn't bother to ask because the staff didn't stand at the counter and you had to call for attention aka too much work. Didn't like how it felt like I wasn't getting what the menu described. The pork was nice and so was the chicken, but totally nothing special. The main flavor was like a mix of hoisin and oyster sauce. -Spam masubi- too much rice! not proportional to the meat they give you so it feels like they skimped on meat The food is very average in the sense that you wish you could've eaten something better and not wasted the space in your stomach. read more

Filling and delicious. The teriyaki sauce is not my favorite kind of sweet sauce, but the chicken and macaroni salad is good. The musubi was good, a decent amount of sauce, and typical of most musubi. read more

The food and shaved ice were good but the staff did not all wear masks and the ones that did? They weren't on correctly or they took them down to yell. The place was jam-packed and people sat wherever. Most people coming in didn't even wear masks so that was frustrating. We took our food and left. read more

Place is legit, broke the mouth!! Glad we found this place on our last few days of our trip to Zion National Park! Friendly staff, food is cheap, and get local Hawaiian music playing!! We make a point to go here every time we're in St. George. We've also used their catering services for a family reunion. Honolulu Grill has the best barbecue chicken, Kailua pork and Mac salad in the state. Everything on their menu is worth trying. read more

They have a good variety of menu options and combo plates--kalua pork, mahimahi, teriyaki/bbq/curry/katsu/garlic/sesame chicken, short ribs, hamburgers, even spam! And brown or white rice, fried noodles, macaroni or garden salads, fries, eggs, etc. for side dishes. Many drinks, shave ice and desserts too. Found this place on Yelp while we were visiting Saint George, UT today. Glad we found Honolulu Grill! Reasonable prices and generous serving, not to mention delish! Teriyaki Beef was very flavorful and so was the lau lau. Macaroni salad was okay, but I have to mention that the rice (with the teri beef) was a bit too "hard" for our Hawaiian-style liking. Rice was on hubby's plate and he mentioned how hard it was. I love rice but don't eat much of it because it makes me fat. LOL We people from Hawaii prefer our rice way softer than al dente - which is probably why our rice is called "sticky rice." Other than that, though, cashier was friendly and the place was clean. Menu on the top wall was easy to read and had a good variety from which to choose. Ample parking and easy enough to find, using our phone's GPS system. I almost always have good luck finding great places to eat on Yelp! P.S. - Forgot to mention how I love the price for the lau lau! $5.00 for lau lau and $1.30 for side of mac salad. If I had the "full plate," it would have cost me $5.00 more (just for 2 scoops of rice...which I don't eat anyway). read more

Ever been to one of those places where you "eat through the pain." This is one of those places! I stop here once a year on the way to Vegas and it's always amazing! I come once a year to Utah for a whole week. And make sure I come and eat here at least 2-3 times before I leave. I always get the Honolulu burger and it's so good every time. Service is amazing always get everything i need and the employees walk around asking if everything is good and if we need anything. I will forever keep coming back to this place as long as it's open! read more

Hungry kid, drove across town to get here. dining room is packed during Kobe times, so try to call in the order so I can pick up through the drive through window. Multiple times calling, it would ring for minutes, before I was hung up on. read more

I love this place!! I always get the teriyaki chicken with brown rice, sauce on top, and the Mac salad (literally the best I've ever had). Staff is always extremely friendly, helpful, and patient while giving recommendations. I've brought all my family here when visiting and it's been a hit. All I wanted for was poi, otherwise loved loved this authentic plate lunch with lau lau!! So many fast chains claiming to be "hawaiian" and all lack for the food that truly is. So glad Honolulu Grill is true to the definition, and has amazing food to boot. Also ordered the short-ribs which were equally tasty, perfectly grilled. Mac salad could do with a bit less Mayo, but otherwise perfect! read more

We tried this place out for the first time, and rest assured, it won't be the last. The portions are easily shareable, and the food is soooooo good. I crave Hawaiian food often, but until now, haven't found a place to go for the authentic stuff. I felt like I was at a restaurant in Hawaii. So good! I'm usually not a huge fan of pork of any kind, but I'm a believer now! Wow! This place definitely needs to be tried. read more

Ordered by phone. It was always busy. Took a while to get through. The man who took our order let us know to come in 20 mins. Waited in line for 15 mins with three people in front of us. Two people left at the window and didn't pick up. Got our order and was just warm. Parked to eat it and NO UTINSILS and no extra sauce on the side. spent $30 on warm food we couldn't eat. Since we are 20 mins away! One star. If you have people call in to make an order. And you have a huge line & it's past the time they are there for pick up. Have one of your employees come out to check if someone is there to pick up. And pay with a tablet. The food can be good, but if your service is bad no one will want to come back cause it just seems like you don't care that much if their food is hot or not when they receive it. The employee who takes orders on the phone and at the window, can be a bit happier..helpful & more friendly. Informative?? Sorry for the wait? Remake orders sitting there for a while? So, the food is good here. The service no so much. Maybe a staff meeting with how to re group and how to deal with phone orders and pick up lines and crowds. Also you need a new way to answer phones. You have people calling in and it is just a busy signal. It's 2020 you can do better. Losing customers by unthoughtful service. read more

We have enjoyed this restaurant over the last 3 months or so. It is very good and we have enjoyed it very much. Especially the SAIMAN. And their prices. We ate their on Saturday. I enjoyed the teriyaki chicken mini and the wife had the normal saiman. The total was about $10 with drinks. We rated this as a four star because of the saiman. Their saiman was excellent. However, they run out of the saiman often. I have been without the saiman twice. They must run out it possibly monthly? read more

The teriyaki chicken on the mixed plate tasted the best of the meats. The saucy-messy onion and teriyaki burger tasted pretty decent, too. The macaroni salad is a big fail; the lomi salad tasted more like pico de gallo than salmon; but the cucumber-onion-carrot salad was a good side. Yet it was the Kamehameha's Revenge that struck in the middle of the night that will not take us back anytime soon. read more

Established in 2000.

Started off in a little hole in da wall, in an industrial area to say the least. In 2007 opened our 2nd location, and 2008 moved from our original location to where we are now.

Meet the Business Owner: bubu c.

Family owned and operated since 2000. The Honolulu Grill was founded by Don & Joan Crichton and their 3 children Don Jr.(Bubu), Tamore, and Dominick (Nick). With hopes of sharing their passion for food with each and everyone that has patronized "Da Grill". It has expanded to 2 locations in St.George with hopes of opening many more in the future. The objective is to bring polynesian cuisine and culture into the spot light. There has been a few that have come before us, we would like to add to it and perpetuate it.By our motto: quality,service,cleanliness,and consistency we hope to become one of the main influences in polynesian cuisine. We have a saying, "bringing hawaii to you" is what we try to do every time. After waiting another 15 minutes for the salad, we finally caught a server and explicitly asked to cancel it. 10 minutes after canceling, the server brought the salad out anyway, saying it was on the house. By that point, we were already finished with our meal and turned it away. Kitchens get busy, and guests understand that. But setting expectations upfront ("Hey folks, the kitchen is backed up about 30 minutes today") or proactively offering a small courtesy early on would have changed everything. Leaving guests in the dark, ignoring a cancellation, and then offering an unwanted item at the very end isn't good service. I'm normally a generous tipper, and frankly, a tip wasn't deserved here at all. I left $2.00 strictly out of habit, but the front-of-house service severely let down what was otherwise a great meal from the kitchen.

I returned to our table, but shortly afterward, another table was seated and their drinks were being taken while we were still waiting. At that point, we decided to leave due to the lack of service. The hostess did come outside and apologize as we were leaving, and I appreciate that gesture, but unfortunately, it came too late to change our experience. I believe the waitstaff may need additional training on recognizing and prioritizing tables that have been waiting, especially when children are involved. When I worked in customer service, if a guest had to get up and ask to be served, I would have immediately apologized, gone to the table, and at minimum taken their drink order and the children's food order. Honestly, I would have been completely understanding if our food had taken another 20-30 minutes after placing the order. What was frustrating was that we couldn't even get acknowledged or place an order. In all my years of dining out, I am usually very generous with tips when the service is attentive and the staff understands the importance of taking care of families, especially when children are involved. Unfortunately, in this situation, we never had the opportunity to experience the food or service because nothing was ever ordered or served. No pictures to share because, unfortunately, nothing was provided to us.
