I took my Rolex watch to this store to change the battery , guy changed it , then out of curiosity I asked him to appraise the watch , it is real Rolex with gold bracelet, which costs over 10,000 ,guess what ? this guy took a look with his jeweler glasses ,then weighted , and said " I will give you $1,500 for it "I laughed and said "I'm not selling "but this guy started to raise the price by $1000 more , I say no give me the watch , but he doesn't want to return it, then he offered to polish it , telling me to leave the watch with him for a day , I said no , then for couple of hours , I said I'm not leaving this expensive watch with you , finally I managed to get back my watch , otherwise I was going to call the police on him , he is sneaky crook, be careful people.... read more

Last time I was in Vegas, my boyfriend and I thought it would be fun to gamble with one of those oyster booths at a pearl store. We ended up getting some nice pearls, but they were asking for $200 to set the pearls in just the simplest of pendant designs. I figured I could do better elsewhere. I remembered coming to this store for earrings years before and decided to stop in. The owners are super nice and I got a simple white gold pendant setting plus the white gold chain all for $160! I usually always buy my jewelry cleaner from this place. Every few months, I go in and its $5 flat. the stuff works great - which is why I am giving it two stars instead of 1. I went it on Saturday, and this guy didn't know that I was a regular customer so he didn't know that I already knew the price of the cleaner. I handed him my card and he charged me $8. I realize it is only $3 bucks, but there is a real lack of integrity here. I mean a jeweler is someone you need to be able to trust. (EAR PIERCING REVIEW) I got my ears pierced here. The man who did it was very friendly and nice, but there were a couple things that I didn't like about the service: 1. I had called prior to getting my ears pierced and they had told me that it would cost $14 total(all expenses included). When I was checking out, he charged me $18, so, dishonesty of price kinda sucked. 2. He does not give you ANY directions on how to take care of your piercing. If you get your ears pierced, you are supposed to avoid harsh chemicals/substances to your piercings. Maintenance includes warm saline solution and washing of the piercing with a gentle(I used baby) soap daily. Also you are not supposed to twirl the earring, and you need to keep your starter earrings(sterile and hypo-allergenic needles) in for 2 to3- and sometimes even 4-months. However, he basically was going to allow me to leave without knowing anything. Right after I paid, I myself had to approach him again and ask how to take care of it. Instead of telling me the correct method, he told me to keep the earring in for 10 days and handed me 4 alcohol packets. You're supposed to keep it in for MUCH longer and alcohol and other harsh chemicals should go nowhere near your piercing. If you get your ears pierced here, make sure you educate yourself on how to maintain them, because he does not give you correct information(My sister had gotten her ears pierced at a tattoo/piercing parlor and was given totally different tips on how to take care of them). read more

This is my go-to jeweler. My family has lived in this area for 44yrs and we've tried quite a few, more well known and very polished jewelers in Glendale and Montrose. This man has everything and if he doesn't he will create it, find it or fix it for you. John is crème de la crème and salt of the earth a humble man always willing to make me and my friends and family a great deal. The stock he carries looks like it is out of The Pirates of the Caribbean! He has mounds of jewels! With the twist of his hand he presents a jewel from an era ago polishes it up and turns it into a piece of intoxicating eye candy, priced ready to sell. Honestly, I have never left disappointed or struck with buyer's remorse. He's very kind and has all day for your needs, wants and desires. And as the locals go, no scandalous talk, here. He's straight up. I've never had piercings here. He does change prices as he often offers below the going market. His product is quite a deal. I lost a stone that was on top of a prong in a ring that I love, he checked out the whole buffed polished it, checked all the prongs - found one was looks tightened it and replaced the stone for a very reasonable price. My watch was damaged here. Last week I dropped in, first time customer, to get a new battery put in my watch. Jeweler took my watch to back, returned saying a new battery would not fix the problem. He wanted an additional $35 to fix something in the inner mechanism (sorry, don't remember what he called it specifically). I declined 3 times. Holding out my hand, I asked several times to get the watch before he returned it to my hand. This week I took the watch to my regular jeweler. My jewelry told me that whoever last opened the watch stripped the screws that hold the back, and broke one of the screws off, with the end of the screw lodged in the hole. And then had applied a little glue to help hold the back of the watch in place. My regular jeweler, at no extra charge, was able to find three new screws but could not repair the broken one. None of these problems were mentioned by the jeweler at Honolulu so I have to believe he damaged my watch. And the watch runs fine now with a new battery purchased from my regular jeweler. read more

Several years ago Honolulu Jewelers had a robbery. Unfortunately I had 2 items there for repair. Upon returning to the store for my 2 pieces of jewelry (a diamond tennis bracelet my husband gave me for our anniversary and a pearl ring that my mother gave me as a teenager) the owner told me that these pieces were stolen in the robbery. I was devastated. He then told me he did not have insurance for his store and in order to receive any money for these pieces it would be necessary for me to file a home owners claim. I did and only received $1,000.00. I went back to the store and asked that he make up the difference of over $2,500.00. He said he would not. I followed up with several visits and letters but he refused to help me. Yesterday I found out that he did indeed file a claim with his insurance company and received a pay-off. I went to talk with him at his store yesterday. He continued to lie to me and told me he didn't have insurance. He pretended he did not even remember the robbery and of course denied knowing me. I spoke to one of his employees yesterday who has worked for him for several years. She stated that he did indeed have insurance. He then referred me to his daughter who owns Fancy Facet Jewelry store down the street. He told me he doesn't speak English and has had a heart surgery and can no longer talk to me.
