I've always had a smooth experience whenever going to Keeping Time inside the Glendale Galleria. If I recall correctly, when I first started going to them for replacement batteries on my 3 Nixons and 1 old Guess watch I keep around from back in the day, they had their own storefront. Now they are located right in front of Banana Republic on the ground floor. The cost to replace the batteries on my watches hover around $10 apiece. You drop it off and he asks you to come back after about 15-20 minutes, depending on other jobs he's working on. He will tell you how much up front and you pay after he's done with the work. And of course like any true watch technician, he adjusts the time and date appropriately to the correct one. I recently went in to drop off one of my Nixons and I had small key chain LED light that needed to have their 2032 batteries replaced. I bought the batteries but didnt have the small enough Philips screwdriver to do the job. I tried and tried at home but to no avail. He charged me $5 for the labor and even he had a hard time opening the key chain up to replace the batteries. It works great again and I'm pleased Keeping Time could help me out. They have a large selection of watches from Seiko to Nixon. They have a few glass counters full... Check them out when at the Galleria. They are my go-to for battery replacements. read more

Visited 11/25/15 Many of my watches have been brought to this establishment. They used to have an actual store where they would even sell clocks, but now it's just a little kiosk in the middle of the mall. Kinda sad. Batteries are about $8. Hate to say it, but you can replace your batteries cheaper at the Glendale Jewelry Mart on Brand for about $6. Service is good though and it's convenient if you happen to be shopping at the Glendale Galleria. Get the punch card and earn a free battery. read more

I went to have my 2 car keys' battery changed. The mustached guy got my 2 car keys and said it would be changed in 20 minutes. I didn't go anywhere. I just stayed there. After maybe 5 or 10 minutes he handed me my car keys and said $20 for each. I handed him $40. He didn't give a receipt and I went home. I tried them both. The other key worked. But the other key didn't work. The guy was a cheater!!!! Don't ever trust the mustached guy inside the keeping time kiosk. read more

The strap broke on my Bulova Precisionist and broke the crystal, I was upset to say the least. First step was to replace the band so I came here and ended up getting a good strap for a decent price. Brought my solar citizen in about 2 months ago just for a replacement battery. When I got it back the date was all screwed up and while they said they tried looking at YouTube videos to fix it, they could not. There was no issue before whatsoever. Basically told me they don't know how it got messed up, how to fix it, and wished me luck. Charged me 50 bucks for the solar battery and after countless hours of trying I could not get the date to set in the correct position. 2 months later and now the battery doesn't even work. This watch ran for ten years on its first battery and I never had to set the date other than the first time. In summary came in for replacement solar battery, now I still don't have a working battery and the date positions are messed up. Thanks a lot guys. Don't waste your time on this place. Better off going to a more legit place to see what they can do. read more

I take my watch to have replace the glass , the owners toll me it will not be the original and the glass won't be blue, i say sure, he say 49 and I say yes no problem then I back to pic it up and the watch was black inside , I did ask why is black he explained the glass is what it make it blue , j did not know that , I say am not happy with black color on my watch, he was mad and say take it to the factory they will charge u over a 100, my pay, I was not explained the inside will also be a different color, he just say the glass not the inside of it, I explained am not a watch repair person , if u don't say it I will not know , bad customer service and lack of the information, not a good place to make business with read more

Keeping time kiosk This is one of this little watch repair sales and battery replacement shops that you find in most malls. However this place had awesome service from an elderly gentleman with a great big smile.  He took my daughters watch and asked for me to come back in 20 minutes. I cruised around the mall a bit and came back a little while later. I must have walked by 4-5 times and didn't se him doing anything but talking to customers. However when I came back he was fixing someone's watch and at no cost.  When he saw me, he was like this watch isn't for you... And I said nope, it's my daughters, and he laughed, saying I didn't think that watch was quite your style... He is right it isn't. Especially as I don't wear a watch. Let alone a purple and black itty bitty one... He takes all the credit cards that you have I am sure and was very pleasant. His great smile kept everyone happy who came by. Definitely a well liked guy here at the mall I would say. So if you need something done to your watch or are in the market for a new one, this is a guy I would suggest visiting. read more

About a year back, I needed to get a watch band for my husband's watch. I stepped into the store and they quoted over $24 dollars for a rubber watch band. I knew it was on the high side so I walked around the mall and found another shop that was @ least $5 cheaper. The other day, I needed a battery for my watch and went in because it's the closest watch shop to the parking lot. They quoted $6 which is average so I left my watch, ran an errand and went back to get it. It was ready and I noticed when they handed it back, they didn't re-set the time which is a pretty standard thing for watch shops to do when they have your watch. It's those little touches that make the difference- especially if your prices aren't great. read more

TAKES ADVANTAGE OF ELDERLY PEOPLE: My Mom took her watch here because it was 2 hours late. He said come back in 15 minutes I will check it. She came back and he told her I changed your battery it will cost you $6. But your watch is old and it needs general cleaning for $50 . My Mom said, "No thank you." He then said I will give you one week to come back if your watch is still slow then I will need to do the $50 cleaning. Mom notices later tHat afternoon that it was still late then took it to a closer Watch Repair shop and then they told her, it is late because the battery is close to dead. I now accompany her back to Keeping Time at the Glendale Galleria and told him the situation and he started telling me that he did change the battery but your Mom's watch is broken and needs to be repaired and changing the battery won't do anything. Now putting my hand on my waist, I repeated to him that the battery he replaced is nearly dead. Then he said he would change it again but can't guarantee it will work. I then asked to see the new battery first and saw it was still in package and he put it in as I watched. Sure enough my Mom's "old" watch works well. He did NOT replace her battery hoping she will pay $50 more than needed. This man is taking advantage of elderly people BEWARE. I am going to report him the the Better Business Bureau. read more

Took my watch here because we had thought my battery had died. The young man who was very nice said that the price was 10 dollars and we should come back in 15 minutes. We come back in 10 minutes and come to find out it wasn't my battery it was the watch itself because apparently it's filthy. So he didn't charge me for the service. Really great! Called when they opened regarding replacing my watch battery. They said no line and quoted me an affordable price that made sense. The kiosk by Target called Fast Fix I also called and Fast Fix quoted me $50 while Keeping Time quoted me $15 and did it while I watched in less than a couple of minutes. Came here to switch out my watch band from one of those elastic metal stretch bands to a leather band. I had gone to a place before that said it simply could not be done due to the unique size of the watch and limited space switching from the metal piece to a leather piece. The guys here were up for the challenge. After trying a couple of options and 20 minutes later they were able to put in a new leather band! I think these guys are a complete rip-off (talking about their repair service). They didn't use to. They used to be a very reputable shop but my experiences the last few times I've visited have not been good. Maybe they've changed management, I don't know. A couple months ago, my Mom's watch (an expensive watch might I add) stopped working and we took it there for a battery change. We were told that it would cost $9.75+ tax and to go back in 20 minutes to pick up the watch, which we did. When we went back the guy told us that it wasn't the battery that was the problem, but that it needed a good cleaning and that they'd have to charge $40 for that and to go back in another hour. We were stunned by the difference in price, but said, oh well, so be it. So we let them do whatever they wanted to do with it, paid the hefty $40 and went home. Fast forward to last week when my watch (an expensive one as well) stopped working and we took it to the same place for a battery change. Same story: it was going to be $9.75+tax and ready in 20 minutes. When we went back, guess what: it wasn't the battery that was the problem, but the watch needed a good cleaning because it had "moisture" in it (I NEVER wear my watch when showering and I never keep it anywhere near the bathroom, so this moisture thing sounded really weird - not to mention we're in So Cal with its super dry climate, what moisture?). Anyhow, this time they quoted $60 for the repair and I was totally outraged. Needless to say, having heard the same story before with my Mom's watch, I didn't believe them this time. I think it's a tactic they use to rip people off their money, especially when they see an expensive watch. They must figure this person is rich if they're wearing this watch, so we can rip them off. Well guess what: I'm nowhere near rich. This was just a gift from my parents on a very special occasion (my graduation from grad school). So I said "no thanks" and I took my watch and left. Now I'm looking for another good and honest watch repair shop because I've sworn I'm never going back to these people. To top it all off, after I told my mother in law this story, she had a story to share about them! A couple months ago, she had gone to them with a watch that needed repair and they convinced her that it was totally useless and unfixable and made her buy another watch from them right there and then! Directly out of the glass display case, bought a Skagen watch with clear protective film shield on face, stem protector in place. Got it home, stainless case scratched under film, dirt collected on the underside at pins and around stem, battery dead. THEY'RE SELLING USED GOODS AS NEW OUT OF GLENDALE GALLERIA. About a year ago, I went to Keeping Time to get a new battery for my Concord watch. I come back in 20 mins and he said it will cost me $140. I said nope. I will give it to my jeweler. Gave it to my jeweler and I paid $10.00 for a battery!!! By the way my watch retails for $9,000. so I guess they wanted some extra money. I didn't do anything about it. Tonight my sister calls and she told me the same story. She had a Piaget $25,000. value and they said it was broken. The person she bought it from insisted it only needed a battery.
