I went to St. Thomas for a birthday trip and ended up at Hook'd for brunch--had such a great time! The service was excellent, and the owner Mike was amazing. Our party of four loved Hook'd for dinner! The setting is pretty by the water with the boats in the marina. Our server did a nice job answering our questions and helping us choose the right dishes. We each had wonderful fish dishes cooked perfectly. The sides were great too. The drinks were tasty and the beer very cold, which does not always happen. We wanted to find a place close to where we were staying and had a vegan option . We found it! Not only was the food delicious but the ambience was great with live music and the service was excellent! Our waiter was great ! The shrimp cocktail peel & eat was outstanding! It's been months since I've been here and it was great. As we walked by the door we got a nice and warm welcome from the bartender Marga and as we walked in Eli also told us good morning which was a wonderful start. Due to such a warm welcome we told Marga that we are sitting at the bar with her because of the warmth we received. We had great conversations as well as awesome service from both Marga and Eli while we were there. The restaurant wasn't full so it was quiet and peaceful. You could actually hear every boat that started up. Food- we got the bottomless mimosa they were great. Both the mango and the original. The French toasts- thick and tasty. The fruits were firm and not saggy like they been sitting around waiting forever. - with the Nutella to me was not over powering the flavor of the toast but it was kind of sweet. But if you like sweetness well that's perfect. I used to come here at least twice a month about a year ago and due to such great treatment we will be coming back more often again. read more

Friendly staff, a great view of the marina and pelicans, fair prices by the standards of the island, and solid food. I had the breakfast burger with home fries. The burger was quite good; the egg was perfectly cooked with a lovely runny yolk, and the home fries were pretty good. Their iced tea has a hint of mango in it, which was a welcome surprise. All three waiters that I interacted with were friendly and helpful. They were somewhat crowded on the Sunday that I visited with a mixture of locals and visitors. The drinks they were pushing out looked pretty good and they had a reasonable selection of rums and whiskies. Perhaps I'll return for a drink. read more

This place is probably one of the best in island. It's definitely the best at Red Hook. It's unassuming but it's got great location with a view of the marina. The staff is very friendly, food comes out fast. And it's by far the best I've tasted. I've been back several times, over the course of multiple trips and so far everything has been great. One of the worst dinning experiences. First, when we arrived for brunch one of the staff asked if we had reservations and then proceeded to sigh, roll her eyes and then said "I guess I'll see what I can do." It was just two of us and there were at least 6+ open tables at that time. Left us standing out front for over 15+minutes before someone else came over and sat us right away. Then we waited for a very long time for someone to bring us water. Our waitress forgot about us, started fighting at the bar with another staff member and disappeared, we had to beg another staff member to bring usbour check. We were not attended to what so ever. Location is awesome and the French toast was sooo good! If you order the biscuits and gravy expecting sausage gravy you will be disappointed. Right on the harbor with beautiful views, this spot blew us away. The fish tacos were insanely flavorful--perfectly seasoned, fresh, and leaves you wanting more. We literally stumbled upon this place... We were trying to go to a different restaurant in the same plaza, but it was closed. Starving, we went down to retrieve the car. But then it started raining and we took shelter underneath their hostess stand. And the hostess was like, "table for two?" We saw there was no wait so we were like, "sure, what the hell"... Great find! We enjoyed sitting in our booth, with a couple of way-too-sweet cocktails, watching the Winter Olympics (going on at the time), with the backdrop of warm rain pounding the marina. Walk down a small ramp and you are welcomed to a view of gleaming water, boats and a slight breeze at nightttime. Outdoor and indoor seating. Our server was friendly and nice, fast and attentive. Service was fast and at a comfortable pace. We tried the BUSHWACKER, which is an island specialty/ think of an espresso martini smoothie! So good! Be careful- it doesn't taste like there's a lot of liquor but it will hit you like an LIT! We got the Jerk burger- comes with fresh and nicely seasoned fries, MAHI bites- seasoned small nuggets of mahi-mahi and comes with a special green sauce. Mixed Green Salad - I mean.. it's a salad lol however note that goat cheese is not In the salad, it's on the toast with the citrus marmalade which was really nice. I wish there were 2 in the salad instead of one The Fish & Chips - hmm this was new to me- the idea of the breading being potato instead of bread. Stopped in for a quick snack before I left the islands. The restaurant is cute with an ample amount of indoor and outdoor seating which overlooks the marina. We ordered the jerk chicken wings and the crispy pork belly appetizers. Both were delicious and hit the spot. read more

Absolute sh!thole. I never leave reviews but from the get go - no host, dude just came around and nonchalantly said we could take a booth after 15 minutes. Table was sticky and wobbly, had to grab our own menus, burgers were $30 (probably tasted worse than the great $12 burgers from Tap and Still down the road) and no server for 10 minutes. We just got up and went to Tap & Still down the street which was way better. No idea how this place has over 4 stars. read more

The sign that previously stated "seat yourself" was changed to "please wait to be seated" very minor change with monumental differences. We waited for about 2 minutes and then we were greeted and sat. 11 AM for brunch that closes at 2 and they were already out of the pork belly biscuits and gravy. Out of gravy. I'm 0/2 at hook'd because that's the only reason I came. Since the breakfast choice was compromised I opted for lunch. We ordered the popcorn shrimp and jerk rub chicken wings. I'd give the popcorn shrimp a 5/10 nothing special. No special sauce or anything it's just your average popcorn shrimp. Nothing wrong with that. Jerk rub chicken wings 5/10. Nothing that'll knock your socks off. I'm still eating Buffalo Wild Wings and wingstop over these which is saying a lot. 3 stars for the staff rushing around a semi-busy Sunday morning. They were doing their best. I'll come back for the biscuits and gravy for a final try . If they're underwhelming I will definitely be putting my Hook'd journey to rest. read more

We had dinner here for our first night on the east end of the island. The atmosphere of the restaurant is great. It is a very relaxed vibe on the water. They had live music on the patio that was awesome. The service was great and the food was good. It wasn't the best meal we had on the island, but we did have a good dinner. They had a pretty standard beyond burger for a vegan or vegetarian option. They also had a great vegan carrot cake. read more

Hook'd has great views and great customer service but I will say the food is absolutely horrible. My husband ordered the catch of the day (swordfish) blackened and with mango salsa and I had the fish tacos. Everything we had just lacked seasoning and flavor. This spot was centrally located in red hook on the water with views of charter boats coming in and out. Live music on the deck. Food was hot, tasty, large portions and priced fair, compared to other spots in USVI. We had lunch during this visit, I was told it's a great evening hangout with fresh fish caught same day. Def a place to stop in when in USVI. friendly staff which we found across the island was nothing but welcoming business owners. Great island. Had the omelette with home fries. The omelette is huge so we split it but I had my own home fries because they are amazing. The staff is really great here, very friendly. Amazing restaurant with waterfront views of a marina. I would give this place 6 stars if I could. The free parking in the Red Hook are is pretty tight, they have a garage on the lower level, I recommend going early. The bartender and staff is very friendly and attentive. My party and I got a bunch of amazing food. The pork belly tacos were great! The seared yellow fin was amazing! The double small burger was huge and delicious. The Fish N Chips was definitely enough to share between my girlfriend and I but was disappointed to find out it was Pacific Catfish. Not a huge fan of bottom feeders and for the price expected something higher quality. Truly no clue how this place has more than 3 stars. I swear to god you have to be on drugs to work here. The most incompetent staff I've ever seen. I've gone here for brunch and to snack so many times just because I know it's cheap. Plus there's legit nothing else in red hook for brunch. So that's a plus. My mother was feeding the chickens. Very sweet chickens and no one had any complaints about her doing this. The chickens were not bothering anyone. The bartender with the pink long hair came up to my mother and yelled in front of everyone, " ARE U FEEDING THE CHICKENS?! ABSOLUTELY NOT."
