We've dined here several times since it opened in April 2026. The clam chowder is so tasty and full of goodness. We usually split the seafood tower for 2 (oysters, shrimp, crab legs, etc.). It's a little messy to eat but it's so fresh. The staff is always friendly, we've been served by Veronica and Reagan and both know the menus and make great recommendations. So.... There is a steady flow of customers into the restaurant which is great. The location is unfortunate because the mall is essentially closed, so you have to make it a point to come here. The restaurant has recently been renovated. It used to be a Hooters. A very nice job with the renovation, as the restaurant looks very nice! Our order included the Fried Grouper, Blackened Salmon and the Sweet Heat Florida Shrimp. The Sweet Heat Shrimp platter was good. Nit was well cooked and had a a nice flavor. It's there version of Bang Bang Shrimp. The Fried Flounder was well cooked. It didn't have much flavor (IMHO) but there were great sauces to dip the fish in. The Salmon was the star of our meal. Unfortunately, the Broccoli that was supposed to be well cooked was raw. We flagged the manager down and he got us a fresh set. Although the new broccoli was very well steamed, there was zero seasoning added. The restaurant has a lot of potential. The gentleman that I assume is the GM was very attentive and took action quickly. The employees didn't share their names, but these are little things they can work on. Remembered this place just opened so thought we would give them a try. Sunday afternoon. Almost empty around 1 pm. Clean, cute decor. Greeted pretty quickly by the hostess and seated just as quickly. I ordered their regular margarita and we got the 1/2 cold peel and eat shrimp with Old Bay as an appetizer. These were delicious. Would absolutely get these again. For lunch I ordered their shrimp Louis salad and my husband got their fried shrimp with onion rings platter. Good quality all around. The fry was greasy and left the shrimp in a puddle on the plate. They need to work out some frying kinks for sure. Great server, Veronica and good quality food will have us give them another try in the near future. If you're in the area, check them out! read more

Heyyyyyyyyyyy you guyyyyyyyyyys! Was stoked to go here and finally made it! Opted to go for lunch they have a pretty decent selection on their lunch menu-price ranges about under $15. Regular menu prices vary and LOTS of options. Decor is well done, hostess was so nice as was our server. We opted for the calabrasa shrimp which came with delicious hush puppies, fries that were meh for me, coleslaw was YUM and the shrimp was really good! Served with tarter and cocktail sauce. Huge portion and very shareable in my opinion. We also had clam chowder which was not skimping on the clams at all! Last we chose oysters raw-east coast they gave 3 options. Served with horseradish, red pickled onion vinegar and cocktail sauce. Overall great experience, would love to go back and try some additional dishes. Let's eat! read more

We have been coming in since mid May usually for lunch about once a week. I have yet to have anything I wouldn't try again. Whole Belly clams, fish dip, Fried Oysters, fried shrimp, Fried clams, grouper sandwich and a few of the fish specials. We feel comfortable here and the service has been really friendly. Went here because I heard a lot about how they're getting good and bad reviews. We decided to sit at the bar. It was happy hour. We did get a lot on happy hour and had all intentions to get a meal too started with Margarita, shrimp crab and spinach dip. We also got the shrimp lettuce wraps that were absolutely amazing. I would highly recommend lettuce wraps with their clam chowder. I had a cup of that and that was just amazing last, but not least we got a dozen of oysters, raw cold and they were out of this world. We enjoyed sitting at the bar, speaking with the bartenders and the manager also came over. Introduced himself (think Troy sorry). Made sure everything was good and we even joked to him about his decor on the walls we liked. I was surprised it was a little bit quiet, but there was plenty of tables that were chatting away, enjoying their meals and I thought the ambience was wonderful. I don't like to do this, but Ive got to. Not impressed, nothing seemed to have flavor. I ordered the Lump Blue Crab meal w/ house salad & coleslaw. Coleslaw & house salad were very good, crab cakes no flavor, cooked right very moist just not flavorful, even the remoulade sauce was flavorless. My granddaughter ordered the chicken bites, Mac n cheese w/fries, she said her Mac n cheese was dry, also the best thing about her order was the strawberry lemonade. I also ordered the conch fritters, looked good on the outside but mushy on the inside. My mother did enjoy her oyster platter. Our other dining companion says her fish could have been cooked a little longer. I would not return, but im grateful for the experience. read more

My fresh raw gulf oysters on the half shell were amazing. The side salad was just ok. Nice crispy iceberg lettuce. But the blue cheese dressing was watery. My husband loved his shrimp platter. Large, delicious shrimp,nice crispy fries, good hushpuppies and yummy slaw. We will go back soon! read more

Stopped in on a Monday night. They've recently opened and are still working things out but it was a good experience overall. Really nice decor. Not a fish camp. ;) Menu had good choices, the hostess was super friendly as was our server, Lexi. Lexi earned them the third star. Confusion (entrees came out, no starters...) and a mixup with entrees...COULD be because they're "new" but train your people and practice before opening? You don't charge less to use us as training dummies. I'm struggling to see myself going here too many times but will try them again in a few weeks. We have a TRUE fish camp we love and go to that blows this away, and a fish restaurant that won the Sentinel's "best fish" slot nearby too. I soooooo wanted to like this place. I'm an avid fisherman who would spend everyday on the water if I could. When you find a seafood restaurant well inland, with a fun, fishing/nautical themed decor, you hope that the food and service live up to the image. Unfortunately it falls far short. My wife and I dined there when it first opened. The food and service was a 7/10. At that time we thought that maybe it was worth waiting a few months for them to get things smoothed out. Well, we went back today and, well, it was simply terrible. My wife's chicken sandwich was little more than shoe-leather. It was drenched in some kind of over spicy sauce which, I suspect, was intended to hide the complete lack of flavor in the chicken itself. As for me, I ordered the flounder sandwich. Yuck! A wet, sloppy, mess. Both had fries come with the order. Greasy and heavily fried. Overdone. Hardly any potato in the fries. Ordered Hush puppies. They came out in two minutes. Uh-oh. you know what that means, right? Either they've been sitting under a heat lamp all day OR they were microwaved. Well, they were tiny, bland, chalky in consistency, and obviously pre-frozen and heated. they came out luke warm (more to the cool side). Bartender only marginally enthusiastic. Ok, so why did we really try this place again? Well, we went to Ford's Garage just a 1/4 mile down the road first. It was packed. Waiting families spilled out into the parking lot. Bar seating jammed packed with people standing two deep. Busy, Great crowed. Food priced appropriately for the surrounding community. The kind of place people wanted to go to. The wait was just to long. Then there is Hooked Fish Camp. Premium prices for uninspiring, tasteless, and poorly cooked food. Place half empty. 4 people at the bar. Listless bartender and staff (the manager/expediter was the only person even trying). This restaurant is owned by F&D and is advertised as a "concept" restaurant. Well, hate to say this, but this is a "concept" that is going to die a slow and unfortunate death. I give it 12 - 18 months.. MAX. if you want seafood at these prices that is actually worth eating, head on over to lighthouse seafood in lake mary. I really wanted to like this place. We will not be back. read more

Enjoyed a delicious meal. Tried a new fish to me; Tilefish. Buttery whitefish with a lobster-like texture. So good! Served with sautéed fresh spinach and Mac & cheese. Had grilled & raw fresh oysters for an appetizer. Service was excellent, Reagan was knowledgeable and friendly, even went to the chef to get answers to my questions about the fish. We've anticipated this place for months so when an available date night came up o was quick to suggest it. Don't waste your time. The Current downtown is far superior - steamed broccoli was clearly cooked in butter, hush puppies were dry, fish tasted frozen. Second time I've been there and order the clam strips. They were good, but they're very few of them. French fries are disgusting and both times the hush puppies they served were burnt. They must be made first thing in the morning and just held off the side.. They did screw up my friend's order, did not get everything she ordered, but that's a problem when they don't write anything down when you talk to them. I've never believed in that type of ordering.. don't like the idea of them bringing the machine to the table for you to pay with your credit card. Disappointed in service, or lack thereof. my husband, daughter and I waited for over 20 minutes and no one came to the table to even greet us after we were seated. It wasn't a busy time, nor was the restaurant packed. Very sad because the menu seemed so promising. On Sunday 6/14 we were driving by the new Hooked Fish Camp restaurant in Sanford and noticed their sign for $2. oysters and decided to stop in. Our experience started off great with our very friendly server at the bar. We ordered drinks and 2 dozen oysters. It was all very good. When we got the bill, the price was significantly more than the advertised price. We questioned it and the Managers response was I forgot to change the sign. No price change was offered. The service was great! Unfortunately, we have had better seafood from Long John Silvers. Nothing appeared to be fresh, and all the fried items were over fried and nearly dry. Everything was over priced (expected with the current economy), but the quality was far less than what we had hoped for. Certainly a "One and done" for us. read more

Ambiance and service were wonderful. Very friendly and caring staff on every level. We had the fish dip which was ok but have had better elsewhere. Had the hot honey Brussels sprouts which I enjoyed. My friend did not. We both had the blackened grouper and shrimp. Grouper was good, shrimp very spicey. They offered to get new grilled shrimp but I declined. I would wait until they work out the kinks. We ordered calamari, wine, and a house gin and tonic $8.50 when we sat down. They had no good gin. I ordered the only Chardonnay they had which was $11 (at 4:30, no happy hour) and they gave me at best 3 ounces. I watched the server talk to five people trying to make it right. Finally got a little more wine. Never received the calamari. Server said she didn't hear that request. Ordered flounder platter and it was the smallest two pieces of fish I've ever seen. The fries were cooked at too of a low temp so they were greasy and mushy. Mac and cheese was hot, but not very cheesy. Cole slaw was very good. Finally got the calamari which included a surprise piece of shrimp and two tiny pieces of clams in the mix. In fairness, server asked if we had any allergies. I can only assume they have separate fryers in the back. As we left the server ran outside with our credit card that she forgot to give me back. We will go back, but not for a while. The atmosphere was the music was pleasant great for the atmosphere. There were some questionable patrons. The food arrived hot and seemingly fresh. Server was polite and friendly. But the food left me going ok without making me go oh we have to come back here. That being everything this was fresh but not exciting. The management was like okay I would say go try it and make your own decision. When I go to New Smyrna and eat at Bostons Fish House I walk away smiling and always say can wait to go back. That being said the one thing there I miss is hush puppies and the one thing my wife loved was the hush puppies@ hooked fish camp. Again they just opened so maybe I'm being hard on them. read more
