I recently visited Bahama Breeze with a friend after hearing the news that they would be closing. This has always been a place I enjoyed, so I wanted to stop in one more time before they shut their doors. It was a Friday night and the restaurant was busy. It felt like others were also coming in for one last visit, which added a bittersweet feeling to the evening. I ordered a pina colada and a pineapple coconut martini. The drinks were perfect. Cold, smooth, and exactly what I remember. I will truly miss the drinks here. They have always been one of the highlights. For food, we ordered beef empanadas, coconut shrimp, and the honey butter crispy chicken sandwich. The empanadas were not quite as good as I remembered. The filling was more soupy than before and did not have the same bold flavor I used to enjoy. The coconut shrimp was solid and consistent. The chicken sandwich tasted like it may have been cooked slightly too long, making it a bit drier than expected. Service was great, especially considering how busy they were. The staff handled the crowd well and remained friendly and attentive throughout the night. While the food was not as memorable as it once was, the experience and the drinks reminded me why this place was special. It is always tough to see a longtime favorite close. DH and I decided to stop by on Sunday at 11am. We were seated right away and Lexi was our server. She was really friendly and we were happy she was available. She took our drink and appetizer order (empanadas) and came back afterwards for our entrees. She was extremely attentive throughout the entire meal and we never needed anything. She was aware of the levels of our drinks , etc. We ordered churrasco with tostones and rice and beans. I ordered white rice while DH opted for yellow rice. I also added sautéed shrimp with garlic because I like to put it on top of my tostones. The food was delicious and we really enjoyed ourselves! I really like this particular Bahama Breeze restaurant because of their atmosphere and energy of the servers!! You can eat outside or inside and the decorations are very festive. I came here after work one day for a work function. It was a nice, quiet Tuesday night. Their dining room are always so large and grandiose, and you feel like in some sort of Caribbean hut with the giant, slow fans. I like this. Service was good, too. Nice fellas. I was trying to be good, calorie-wise, so I skipped the apps that my co-workers ordered, but they looked good. They seemed to enjoy them. So for my meal, I got something that I can't find on the online menu anymore. It was a spicy pineapple shrimp dish, though. And it was delicious! Way too much shrimp, large chunks of pineapple, some diced veggies, served on some white rice and stuffed into a half of a hollowed-out pineapple. What more can you ask for? Overall, this place was solid. Not necessarily on par with the five star best-of-the-best that Orlando has to offer. But it was five stars in terms of it gave me exactly what I was looking for, and it did it well. read more

I have never eaten here before and he insisted on paying so we went. I got a strawberry lemonade which was really good, so that adds a star. I also got these mozzarella stick's as an appetizer, which were not cheesy, so I did not really enjoy them. The service was good, my server constantly checked up on us and was nice as-well. She never gave us a name though. The food took a bit long to arrive so I was sort of irritated. I ordered a burger since I wasn't in the mood for anything else on the menu. It was nice and juicy, but my bun was kind of hard. The place wasn't amazing or interesting enough to get me to notice something. It was kind of dark and the people near us were loud. I have been to this location a couple of times and service is hit and miss. It is one of the newest around the area, but the service is slow and the servers do not check up on you often. We saw our server maybe 3 times during our meal. The hostess was friendly and sat us right away. Food was good. We ordered the salmon tostada salad and the churrasco. Even though it took a while to get our food, it was fresh and well cooked. As for drinks these were not very good. Great first visit to this BB location in Sanford, FL. I knew I was having the salmon tostada salad, which did NOT disappoint. This open and airy location, with indoor and outdoor seating, was very clean and I was quickly seated upon arrival today for lunch. I love the sweet tea here, but next time I think I'll try one of their non-alcoholic beverages. My salad was perfect! My server was very polite and you are able to pay your check at the tabletop kiosk. This is a great place to enjoy lunch with friends and family or Happy Hour after a long week. This was my first visit to this particular spot in the Bahama Breeze chain. We were celebrating a 93rd birthday and the staff was so sweet and accommodating. Our server put the cupcakes we brought into the cooler until we were ready then politely brought out plates and extra napkins when we were ready to celebrate. Of course we all had lunch first (delicious). Several of us ordered the special frozen margaritas to get started with. Yummy but Brain Freeze!!!! Be careful how fast or hard you sip on those drinks! While I would never call the food at Bahama Breeze the most authentic representation of Caribbean food, this was more about meeting a client in a familiar setting and enjoying a meal as we discussed a few matters of business. Our server was pleasant and professional and was definitely a great representative of the Bahama Breeze brand. The food is what you would expect from a national chain restaurant where the emphasis is more on consistency and creating a menu inspired more to present a reasonable facsimile of Carribean food that can offer something for everyone (even if they do. Had a party of about 20 people so I understand that is inconvenient. However, we ate on a Wednesday night and it was the most dead I have ever seen a Bahama Breeze. We were more or less the only group inside the restaurant with a few dates trickling through throughout our evening. Our waitress must have assumed that the 20% gratuity applied to large parties was an excuse for horrific service. She was nice, however failed to bring out waters multiple times, disappeared for 20 minutes at a time and worst of all took a half hour to bring out our check. Meanwhile I took a lap around the restaurant to find her and counted a total of about 10 guests in the entire restaurant, half of which were sitting at the outside bar. read more

Quick Happy hour stop for my wife and I. We ordered 3 appetizers and a 2 drinks. The margarita was okay, and the Ultimate Pina colada was good. Our server did not offer us any waters with our drinks, but I guess I also didnt ask. We were seated right by the mens bathroom and kitchen so there was alot of foot traffic which was a bit annoying. The appetizers were also okay. Beef empanadas were different than what I expected but tasty. The crab dip was also good. The jerk wings were okay they were my least favorite. I like this place it's a nice place to go get something to eat drink and talk the food is good not great but I feel like the manager is asleep at the wheel it's always something for instance last time we were there it had rained and all the tables had water on them it was taken 2 minutes to clean them off we wanted to sit outside and they said well the tables are wet why isn't it when you come on your shift they're not clean also the gas torches outside are constantly not lit and the smell of gas comes right out to the outside patio. My best friend and I celebrated my belated birthday here after driving all through Sanford and not really finding a good spot to stop at. BB was packed, but we got a good seat at the bar where they had two sports things happening, so it was okay seeing all the buff athletes were doing their thing. Started off with a strawberry margarita ($12), which was tasty and a good way to begin the weekend. Looked through the menu, which had some good pickings, but I went with the seafood paella ($24) as my dinner, which had shrimp, scallops, and mussels in a seasoned rice. It was tasty and filling, but I did avoid the green peppers, which were mixed in because they were a bit limp beyond how I like them. The bar was crazy busy, so when we were ready to order, it took a small moment to catch the attention, but our drinks and food came out very quickly. The bar staff were effectively handling the work. The salmon was topped with pineapple mango salsa and served with pureed sweet potatoes. The salmon was moist and tasty. The vegetable was crisp green beans. The service was excellent. Okay been back twice since my 3 star review which I thought was fair. It's AMAZING how a good server turns this experience into something fun and really good. We were able to find a last minute table for Valentine's for a group of 8 (I know, plan ahead) and they were super accommodating and the server, Coryanne was a GEM. So when we needed a quick spot more recently we all agreed Bahama Breeze was good so let's go! Well the food was good, the drinks were good, the HAPPY HOUR PRICES were SUPER good (drinks add up...) and Georges was a super happy and friendly server who made it all even better. Soooo let me start off by saying our waitress was very nice and attentive and you could tell she was working really hard. My sister and I went to this location in Sanford around 9pm ( there aren't many restaurants open these hours on a Tuesday) half price drinks and apps were our reason for stopping in. The apps were okay . The firecracker shrimp was good , the breading was falling off and the sauce had a film on top like it had been sitting out for a while. The wings were not crispy at all to the point we sent them back to go in longer. It didn't help. They came back the same way they left. The crab dip was okay somehow the five cheeses had a smell that i didn't enjoy with seafood. So that was an experience. My sister points at the wall and says omg ... I look over and see a german cockroach on the wall !! To see one in a fully lit, open running business is alarming in itself but definitely made our stomachs turn after eating subpar appetizers. We had two sangria's that supposedly have rum and red wine in them and left without even the slightest buzz . I definitely will not return to this location. The manager came over and did something on his iPad ( probably calling the pest control company in. ) he did not apologize or even say a word . OMG, the coconut shrimp with $5 happy hour cocktails... Good place for dinners, bit I usually find myself coming here for drinks and apps with friends. Bahama Breeze has grown on me. Our waiter Finn was AMAZING! He was so friendly, patient, and went above/beyond to make sure we had a positive experience. The crab dip is the winner for me here. I've gotten it several times now and it's always great. I also discovered that I have the virgin ultimate pina colada. It's so sweet but refreshing at the same time. This 5 stars is specifically for the delicious mango jalapeño margaritas that grqced my pallet this evening. Aight so boom, a few weeks ago I was on a date night with my baby and i forgot my passport bc at the time, that was all i had for ID. The meal was great, we sat by the fore, and i left my passport behind because their coconut mojito had ya girl wavy. The sugar cane garnish is my favorite thing--two mojitos in, of course i leave my passport. Fast forward to today where im freaking out not able to find my passport anywhere to certify I am who i am say i am for a job. My honey is like hey I told you way back then, call bahama breeze thats the last place you had it. I call them, they've held onto it for me, score!! I can go pick it up. So i head there and im waiting for my passport and the hostess is like, "well since you're here, let me chat you up! You ever heard of the mango jalapeño margarita?" I had never heard of such a thing...but i love jalapeño margs and i love mangos. I sit at the bar, order it up--the staff is always so sweet! And out comes this pretty margarita with a thick alice of mango on top sprinkled with Tajin. The flavors burst in my mouth like boba popping pearls!! It was sooo good--2nd sip in i realized I hadn't eaten all day so I order a light portion of the jerk chicken pasta and, of course, its the most delicious thing I've put in my mouth all day. I walked into the restaurant in the worst mood, but as i write this review in my driveway, im 100 times happier and im convinced that good food and drinks is the cure for all mans ailments . read more

As hard as I try to like this Darden-owned restaurant, I always come away with a feeling somewhat related to Buyer's Remorse. It's as if any entree that I order never seems to meet the expectation. The restaurant itself is a very pleasant place to eat. The ambiance is that of the Caribbean area. I suppose that is what they were going for, right? Their menu is severely limited and is NOT indicative of the Caribbean. Stuffed pineapple? Are you kidding? Where's the seafood? I spent time in Trinidad and I never saw any pineapple. We stopped into Bahama Breeze for the first time since this whole Covid-19 fiasco started and once again we were very happy with the food, service, and ambiance. All employees are required to wear face coverings, and the restaurant is taking necessary actions to help prevent the spread of the virus. Staff is proactively working to keep customers 6-foot or more apart from other parties; Hand sanitizer dispensers are mounted in key locations via pedestal throughout the restaurant; servers are providing sealed packets of hand sanitizing wipes to customers once seated. We were a group of three and ordered appetizers only, as we were in a bit of a time crunch. Fortunately for us, Bahama Breeze offers half-price appetizers during happy hour Mon-Fri from 4 pm until 6 pm. My wife and I ordered the Coconut Shrimp ($5.50), Firecracker Shrimp ($5.50), Two bowls of Black Bean Soup ($5.49 each), Habanero wings ($6.15), and a 20-ounce Aruba Red beer ($4). During happy hour we spent a total of $34.38 minus tip. If we were to purchase the same meal during peak hours, we would have spent $20.45 more, making our total $54.83 minus tip. Wow, what a deal! I have had some great meals over the years at Bahama Breeze and although the portion sizes have decreased slightly, the food continues to evoke a Caribbean theme their customers have grown to love and appreciate. My main purpose for the review is to keep the community in the know about the status of this store during the pandemic. Also, I feel that sharing the happy hour deal is a great way to get previous and new patrons' incentive to visit. I have added the "updated menu" to this review because it has been consolidated to two pages. I was disappointed that some menu items have been temporally removed but it is what it is until things get better. All of the food we received on this visit was perfectly cooked and delicious especially the Black Bean Soup and Habanero Wings! Our server Rebecca was friendly, accommodating, efficient, and helped us close out our bill in record time. Thank you for the great service and all of your efforts to help keep your customers safe! I had to get a waiter as thee waiters were helping another table of 6 next to me and there were only three tables outside with guests. I had the strawberry mojito and my wife the coconut mojito. We should have just had juices and saved on the drop of any liquor. There was zero taste of strawberry's or coconut. Mostly crushed ice and juice. The appetizer was very small for sharing.
