    Vanilla latte

What a delightful coffee shop close to the city park! We walked in and the vibe was warm and welcoming. The woman at the counter was very friendly and entertained my questions. I didn't order anything monumental--just a vanilla latte--but it was so yummy and the foam art was gorge!

Consider me hooked. Hooked on Colfax is a great space to work, meet a friend for coffee, or sip on some whiskey. Right on Colfax in the Bluebird District/City Park area, this place is usually pretty steady on a daily basis. Two floors, multiple rooms, free wifi, good coffee and a nice assortment of booze. Compared to many of the new school, minimal coffee shops in Denver, Hooked on Colfax has the old school coffee house vibe. And I dig it. I'm always productive when I come here. Baristas and employees are generally upbeat, and there's a good crowd of locals working, reading or popping in and out on Colfax. Not much to knock here. Solid place to hunker down and lay low. Great options nearby for food, too. Keep it up!

Nice coffee shop on colfax with pastries (muffins & scones), beer, coffee drinks and more. Friendly baristas and plenty of seating on the floor and below. They also have a couple board games in the basement seated area. I got the mocha with oat milk and less sweet and it was perfect.

Hooked on Colfax had long been a staple of my coffee shop rounds in Denver. I don't visit as often as I used to do because it's a long drive for me, not to mention their prices have gone up a lot. Like others have said, the service and quality can be pretty hit or miss. On this trip, the service was a bit of a miss. We were ignored for a while and then the barista wasn't the most friendly. Fortunately, my Americano was decent and so was our caramel pecan scone. I do like that they usually have gluten free and vegan options. That's probably what brings me back here!

Love the coffee at Hooked on Colfax! It's a great place to stop in for a latte and, occasionally, a cookie.

    Mocha 8oz

Found this gem while waiting for brunch at Denver Biscuit. Literally a couple shops down so decided to grab a cup of drink and chit chat with the friends. This place is super covid friendly, they have both outdoor and indoor (with doors and windows propped open) seating available. Also, it's pet friendly! I got to try the mocha 8oz and a Bhakti chai in 12oz. The mocha was pretty strong (it kept me up all night!) and the chai has a strong tea flavor but really tasty. Of the two, I would recommend the chai. The aesthetics of this place is super cute and has very laidback and chill vibes. There's actually 2 parts to their shop, the other side from their register is more of a study/lounge area. There's high tables with stools and low booth tables. Parking can be a bit difficult to find for this area due to Denver Biscuit being such a popular and highly rated brunch spot.

It's strange there have such a high rating. The guy preparing my latte either did not care or did not know how to do it. Maybe the pull was not good? My friend & I both were disappointed.

Classic coffeeshop drink menu with a few seasonal options. I had the lavender latte which was good but can't say I'd have known it was lavender in a blind taste test. My mom has a classic latte and was happy with her choice. Staff was friendly but not the most attentive. They forgot our muffin and I overheard them making a few other errors. They also have a great breakfast all day menu and some solid lunch options too. When I went they had an absolutely bomb Birria grilled cheese, but I unfortunately don't think it's a regular item. Utilizing the existing brick walls, the interior layout is creative with all sorts of art. Their location is their luckiest part as it consistently draws steady footprints. It thus gets packed in a few seconds. It offers (firstly) coffee based drinks. It does have a kitchen where they make more than just pastries and the like. It's definitely more than a simple coffee shop for sure. Service, however, was quite basic. The lady upfront smiled but hesitantly. She wasn't rude but I simply didn't feel welcome. Hence describing their current customer service system or skills as "good" might fuel their egos (wow, did I really say that?? LOL!!) My quad latte was decent/good. I could have done less espresso shots as it sure was strong or too strong (this wasn't their fault; it was mine.) Yes, in conclusion, the shop can and should refine its service (upping it one more level might draw solid raves from the people). Well. I'm not that distraught by any means so in due time, I might utilize them in the future.

I grabbed a table on the small patio. Broadway was still relatively quiet, the shady side of the street providing relief from the strengthening summer Colorado sun. The weather was perfect, one of those Denver mornings that reminds you why you moved here and why others are still coming. At 8-something on a Saturday morning, that's prime urban coffee-drinking real estate. The coffee was good. My Americano with steamed almond milk was comfortably above chain coffee, but it doesn't quite reach the elite tier of Denver coffee roasting and brewing. No complaints, just my honest assessment. What Bardo does exceptionally well is atmosphere. The space is warm and lived-in: exposed brick walls, hardwood floors, booths that provide just enough privacy, and a long, narrow layout that creates an intimate, neighborhood feel. It's cozy without trying too hard. Outside, the patio consists of just a handful of sidewalk tables, offering a front-row seat to the neighborhood waking up. Located on the northern edge of Baker, where South Broadway's coffee shops, vintage stores, and eclectic energy give the neighborhood its distinctive character A mix of artists, students, remote workers, vintage shops, music venues, and old Denver character. Even at this hour, the place was full of the kind of people you'd expect in this stretch of Broadway. Saturday morning Broadway has always had that energy. People who seem to have nowhere urgent to be but somehow are already fully assembled by 8 AM. Tattoos. Bikes. Interesting glasses. People reading actual books instead of doomscrolling. Service was friendly and efficient. Nothing performative, nothing rushed. Bardo isn't trying to be the most polished coffee shop in Denver. It doesn't need to be. Its strength is that it's comfortable, local, and real. On a perfect Saturday morning, with good coffee, a shaded patio, and the city slowly coming to life around you, that's more than enough. A lot of happiness isn't fireworks. It's sitting in the shade on Broadway, watching the city wake up, and realizing you're glad to be there. Go for: The patio, neighborhood energy, and warm interior atmosphere. Skip if: You're searching for a transcendent coffee experience or the city's most ambitious espresso program. Best time to visit: Anytime, but early Saturday morning, before Broadway fully wakes up and the city still feels like it's stretching before the day begins is my favorite.

Even with a full house, the place was very quiet, people respected the "wfh coffee shop" culture, and did not seem to be talking loudly or taking meetings. The drinks were great, not too fancy, but my Matcha was yummy. We also tried a gluten-free zucchini bread and a lemon pound cake which really hit the spot. Prices are pretty fair, and I had no issue finding street parking even on Broadway, although I had a busier time of day, I can imagine it might be more difficult.
