Heard about this place so wanted to check it out. Walking inside and you're met at the counter to be seated. Looked inside for lunch and there weren't that many people inside....plenty of seating...and still had to wait 10 minutes for a server. There's a bar inside with descent amount of seating. We came in at 5:30 to celebrate my daughter's birthday. There was no waiting and we were seated immediately. After ordering, our drinks were brought out, but the food still wasn't at the table at 6:45. We asked for crayons so the children could color, but they were not forthcoming. I got up after 20 minutes to get the crayons myself. I ran into the waitress and reminded her that we needed crayons. She went and got them. We talked about leaving and paying for our drinks. The waitress came and told us there was a "glitch in the system and our ticket didn't print." That was an explanation without meaning. Our food began to arrive in pieces. It took another 15 minutes for everyone at the table (4 adults and 2 children) to get their food. Someone in management came out and comped my daughter's appetizer. Upon paying the bill, there was an automatic 18% tip added to the bill. We are good tippers and would have left at least that much (not because the service was good and not because we loved the food.) It wasn't the money I objected to, it was taking my right to determine what we would leave as a TIP (to insure promptness). It really ate at me. I called the restaurant where a women answered and told me the manager was too busy to speak to me, but she would have him call me back if I told her my problem. She became snippy and rude as I explained my issue. Later, she called back and in the same short and irritated way told me that the manager wouldn't talk to me, but they would return the tip to my credit card. I told her that was not the goal I had in mind. I wanted to let the owner/manager know that I don't like the policy of adding a tip without consent. She told me the policy was printed on the menu (I guess I was looking for food and missed the legal ease.) I suggested that the policy should be on a sign as you enter the restaurant so that people don't feel violated when you assign them an amount to leave the staff. She said, "So, do you want the refund?" I said, "yes", which kind of surprised me, but her attitude sent me over the edge. I provided my credit card information and will NEVER return to this restaurant! read more

Hooked is a second seafood boil place in Tri. It has a more quieter and casual ambiance. The service was nice and very attentive. They were constantly checking in and making sure everything was good. The price may seem a lot but for seafood is good, especially when you can get lobster tails in the seafood boil at no added cost. For a free app they give you cheesy crab meat garlic bread which is flavorful. I got the 911 spicy seafood boil but personally for me it wasn't that spicy. Next time I'll have to up the heat. But if you want garlic butter sauce or other sauces it does cost you extra. read more

Been here many times since the opening and I don't know if they are under new management or what but this place is horrible now. We went in and got one of the boils. Just me and my wife. From the time we ordered to the time our food came out it was maybe 10 min. That wouldn't have been a problem of the food was actually cooked. Most of the food in the boil was warm at best. We got an order of the clams and not only did they have the most nasty fish taste only two of them opened. If a clam doesn't open during cooking it's bad. The server asked me to put them on a plate. She took it back to the back and they literally re steamed the same clams. Then to make it worse they forced open the clams to make them look as if they were cooked. Still the same nasty fish taste and now since they are over cooked mushy af. I will not be going back and will be telling everyone to stay away. read more

We absolutely love hooked & choose to drive over 40 minutes to enjoy this meal once every so often. The service is always great and the food is just as good. This 3 star is only because we ordered the kids shrimp pasta for the very first time and we packed it to go since my toddler barely ate anything. My husband fed him the leftovers today and he noticed something silver. It was actually a metal bristle from those dish sponges. If my son would have eaten that, who knows what could've happened. I don't know if it was because it was Mother's Day and it was busy so they weren't being as attentive but we were pretty bummed that this happened because we love this place. I wished my husband was able to take a picture of it before tossing but it was definitely a metal bristle. read more

I've been here a handful of times & food is always been good. Except this last time I went I order steamed oysters and they were not steamed all the way. My stomach was in awful shape almost instantly. The server was very nice and attentive. She took them back and had the kitchen remake the order but honestly my stomach was already in knots I couldn't even eat them. The bread wasn't cooked all the way through as well. I ended up ordering a strawberry mango daiquiri ... I waiters a bit before I ordered because I didn't know what to expect (I even told that to the server) anyway went ahead and order a #of dungarees crab and a # of head of shrimp. I took maybe 2 bites and asked for her to go. Total bill was $68 plus a tip the food went into the trash when I got home. This time was a buss. Do NOT listen to the bad reviews-- This place is phenomenal and is easily my new favorite splurge restaurant in the Tri-cities. I got the "build your own boil," half Dungeness crab, half headless ship with the shell on with "hooked blend" seasoning. Sooo good - flavorful, buttery and delicious. The sauce kinda reminds me of the garlic butter dip from Dominoes but even better. I got mine Mild spicy because I was afraid that because it was a Creole style it could be REALLY spicy but you can't taste any burn with mild. I will probably get medium next time. Can't say much about the service because I got mine to go but the hostess was really nice and it looked pretty cool in there. Yes, it's more expensive than your average sit down (I spent $35 for what's shown here). But that's because quality seafood is expensive. It's also pretty unlikely you'll eat the whole pound in one sitting so you'll have leftovers. I want this place to stick around so I hope more people give good ratings so it can get out of the undeserved 3 star for some early opening hiccups. read more

Visited right at opening, had the place to myself, and the extensive menu had me intrigued. The ambiance was nice, and since we went early, it wasn't very busy or loud, which can ruin the experience in a restaurant with high ceilings. You dont get to charge "fresh" seafood prices for sesfood that's not fresh. I grew up eating seafood by the beach. This is not worth the price. $128 for 2 people. Clams were not cooked and slimy. The flavor was not there. Definitely will not return. Also heard they get their seafood from costco. Everyone who said its quality seafood clearly has never had it. Tonight was my 2nd visit here. The first time I wasn't overly impressed. This time I was pleasantly surprised. I had the fried oysters and they were SO GOOD! Exactly like I was hoping for! I had some sort of special cucumber margarita that I wasn't thrilled with but maybe that was just me. Others may love it. It wasn't very crowded so there was no wait. The servers were very nice. We read the reviews in advance and we're a little nervous but wanted to give it a chance, also noticing the reviews appeared to be getting better over time; which is a good sign, they are paying attention to feedback. As a family we ordered: Steamed Oysters (Garlic Butter), Crab Fries, Coconut Shrimp, Clam Chowder, Hooked Rice, Hooked Noodles, and a build your own feast (Cajun seasoning) with Scallops, Shrimp, Dungeness Crab and sausage. Everything was well prepared and seasoned exactly as described on the menu. No complaints! Our sever we very helpful, friendly, and checked on us frequently. Super friendly and easy going, all the while meeting our needs (and then some) without us even asking. My husband and I picked this place on the spur of the moment and I'm glad we did. This was the tastiest seafood that I've had locally. Hands down. We had never eaten here so we ended up over-ordering. With complementary bread brought to the table there is no need for two appetizers at a table for two along with two entrees. I wanted to try the hush puppies. I was expecting them to be typical PNW hushpuppies (huge and dry as the driest falafel out there) but they were nicely made and moist. Crab fries were a bit overkill. We'll skip those in the future. We each had a boil for dinner. My husband ordered mussels and scallops. I had peel and eat shrimp with manila clams. We both had the "everything" seasoning, medium heat. The seasoning was divine and garlicky. I didn't see plain garlic toasts on the menu but they would have hit the spot helping to sop up the sauce. Next time we go I plan on trying one of the fried seafood platters. And, there will be a next time. We did have an early dinner on a Friday. I'm glad we arrived a few minutes after 5pm because by a little after 6pm the lobby was getting packed. read more

Way better then expected! Manager's presence is there and is helping clean up etc. Nice to see that while letting the servers do their job while busy. Everything is served quickly. I've been here about 6 times and it is consistent. The boils have lots of flavor and the fried food is tender. It truly is hard to get seafood to be constantly cooked right. Never had a greasy soggy plate. I generally get the oysters and calamari and it is cooked perfect. You know if you like calamari it can be really good or really bad.
