Came to Hooters on Sunday to watch the rest of the 1 o'clock football games. The bar was full and the rest of the place was busy. Before being seated we were told that the kitchen was behind and servers wouldn't be taking orders for 15-20 minutes. The service was okay it wasn't the best and it wasn't the worst. Our waitress was super friendly, but she was very busy especially with a bigger party. It took more like a half hour to be able to order food. Our apps came out the same time as our wings which was frustrating. We were left with no silverware for about 15 minutes and anyone we asked said "I'll get it" but didn't. Finally our waitress noticed, but prior to her bringing a fork I had one of my wings which were ice cold. At this point I was over it so I didn't even bother asking her to bring it back to the kitchen and just warmed them up when I got home. The customers know they need to be respectful to the hooters girls so there's definitely less predatory action than if you were by yourself at a regular sports bar. I never like having to do this. But sometimes your hands are forced. My friend and I wanted to eat some good wings so we decided to go where they say the wings are the best. I also ordered the chili cheese fries and this was a mistake. The cheese taste like gas station nacho cheese. It had a dusty taste to it and was just not edible. The chili itself wasn't bad at all but between that and the chicken one of them mad me sick almost immediately after leaving Hooters. My friend didn't even touch his order after eating one of the fried shrimp on his plate and one of the boneless chicken pieces. This is rare because this dude eats almost anything, He too wasn't a fan of the chili cheese fries and that happens to be one of his favorite dishes. Now for the service: When you walk in it is self seating only there is no sign that tells you that so for 5mins we sat at the door waiting to be greated. Then a waitress walked by and ignored us until I caught her attention and asked to be seated. She told me that we could sit anywhere. So when we sat down I noticed an employee casually sitting at a table with two other gentleman and thought it must be someone on their break nope she was our server and she was just sitting there chatting it up. Comfortably sitting, Oh Sasha, Sasha, Sasha. I dont know how things work at Hooters but if that were my establishment that would not be an option. This continued on for the 2 hours I was there. Culinary greatness? No. Culinary GOODNESS? I wouldn't even give it that. Our dinner party tried the BBQ Burger, the Pulled Pork sandwich, and the Mahi Mahi Sandwich. We were afraid to try "911" or "Nuclear" but now we realize that "Nuclear" is probably their version of "Hot." It absolutely broke my heart when we lost every Hooters location in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Yet, there was a ray of sunshine in all of this: Hooters of Saugus. I know what you're thinking: Saugus? Why not Boston? Well, it's worth the trip for the friendly waitresses, delicious comfort food, and bar. We all know that no one goes to Hooters for the wings, but I go for the fried pickles and the buffalo wing chicken sandwich. Those are pretty much my staples. And I certainly don't mind interacting with beautiful women in a sports bar. I don't find that any Hooters is degrading to women, but of course I'm saying this as a man.
