A few weeks later, Dorian showed up, took one look at the installation, and within 60 seconds had identified five significant installation errors left behind by the previous plumber. Sixty seconds. Dorian was calm, knowledgeable, and clearly knew Navien systems inside and out. He explained every issue, outlined exactly what needed to be corrected, and gave me a straightforward quote. No mystery. No guesswork. No "let's try removing the thing we installed last time." Just competence -- which, after 16 months, felt almost surreal. Bob, ​the service tech, was nice & polite - until the estimate of drain cleaning. I had no standing water or plumbing issues, ​I only needed the drain cleared of roots to have a h​ome sale inspection completed. Hoover ​had a coupon drain ​clearing for $89. I did let the appointment setter know exactly what I needed done and that I had a coupon from their website for a drain clearing. I was asked if I had standing water, i did not. Tech Bob scoped waste pipe from basement to the road ​then gave me the estimate of the​ exorbited price of over $1300.00! I paid the $89 service fee but Bob kept hounding me. I said no once, I shouldn't have had to say it more than that. Nice high pressure tactics. Your follow up phone call was outrageous. No need to try and sell me on your not being a a high pressure company. You totally are exactly that! I had another company come out the next day to snake the drain. They did just as requested. No pressure or mention to descale or anything else your tech tried to sell me at exorbited cost of $1300+ for work NOT NEEDED NOR REQUESTED. BTW, inspection (done by an independent company) was passed, no issue other than roots, (​which were cleared) $200 for requested service verse $1300+ for unnecessary service. read more

Had an appointment with my regular Heating/Cooling company. They called the day before to confirm early appointment for 5/25/17. Took day off from work to be here, they call mid-morning to cancel due to weather!!!!!!! Really!!!!!!!!! I looked on internet and found Hoover Electric, Plumbing ... the young lady set me up for an appointment within the next couple of hours! They sent a text and picture of whom was coming. Mike was honest! I had forgotten to turn on A/C at the fuse box. I decided to have him check out the Air anyway. He found a switch that appeared to be burning up. I had him replace it since he was already here. I figured based on past calls that this call would be $300+. Not only was it less, but Mike applied a coupon giving me $25 off. Fantastic!!!! Kyle charged me $1,700 for a job that usually ranges between $500-$1000. I told him I had someone scheduled to do my bathroom the next day so I needed a new shower diverter. He replaced the diverter and connected copper lines to the Pex that was already there, no soldering, just pro-pressed the pipes together and one shower knob. The installation was simple but he charged twice as much as it should have been. There was no breakdown of charges. He purposely confused me by not making the charges clear until the last moment and knew I had no choice but to use their service. This was the first time I interacted with Kyle. We've actually used Hoover before for plumbing, digging up our sewer, and even getting our furnace and AC unit replaced and never had issues before this. I told him I used to do plumbing so I don't know if he's just incompetent or if he was trying to take advantage. I had ACL surgery so I couldn't do it myself, but it feels like he took advantage of my situation. Kyle is banned from my house. We manage several commercial properties. when you find someone you trust you always use them. they're professional very knowledgeable. I have never had a problem with them getting back with me on Estimates often times with commercial properties tenants call last minute and I have them out there for emergency calls. Hoover did a great job troubleshooting an electrical problem I was having a my sister's home in Michigan. The worked with me on scheduling the appointment -- and rescheduling it at the last minute when something came up on my end. Val, the service rep, and Brady, the electrician who did the work, were both pleasant and professional. I also liked getting texts, emails and a phone call when Brady was on his way to the house. I would give this a five, but I thought the flat rate was a bit on the high side. On the other hand, they let me use a web coupon for $35 off the service call, and even directed me to the coupon when I called the make the appointment. We had a great experience with Nathan B. We called because of an electrical concern, and Nathan came out within a couple of hours. My mom is older, and generally uncomfortable having someone she doesn't know in the house. Nathan treated her with courtesy and kindness; he was friendly and put my very nervous 83-year-old mother at ease immediately. He did a very thorough job, took time to explain each step, answered multiple questions, and even took a minute to give our old dog a scratch on the belly. Michael the plumber was an excellent trouble-shooter as we have an old house that required some creative solutions to get our new-to-us-vintage toilet installed. He cleaned up after himself and was careful not to let the cat out. He taught about maintenance and showed us the way to make the vintage toilet not "sweat" which we now can do ourselves. Jason Woods arrived the next day, did an assessment and unfortunately informed me that there were many things no longer up to Warren's building code. My hot water heater rusted out overnight and I left for work knowing the hot water wasn't working but not knowing that the water was filling the basement (about 4 or 5 inches I'm told). I had my gf find and call a Plumber. Kevin V got out there in a few hours, shut down the water unclogged the basement drain and had an estimate for me by the time I got home. He recommended a cleanup crew who also came out within a few hours and got right to work. 1 day later my new water heater is installed and the basement is drying out with several large blowers and humidifiers. Called Home Depot at 9pm on a week day because our water heater wouldn't light. Hot water ran out and knew at that time we needed a new one installed. The Hoover truck was at my home the next day by 11 a.m., less then 2 hours later we were back in business. Now that's fast service! Paul was very professional from start to finish. These guys are worth the cost when in a pinch. My only suggestion would be to the marketing people at Home Depot. When researching their website, I did not see where they offered installation. Hoover Electric was very professional and I will use them again. They followed up with an email reminder of my appointment time and texted me when my technian was on his way. Shane came out to install a light fixture in my home office. He arrived on time, provided 3 options for installing the fixture given the beam spacing in y ceiling. LOL But I decided to wait until after the inspections on my Electric upgrade and furnace/ac upgrade to make sure the entire job was complete and to get the inspectors opinion on the job. Electrical. Had a new hot water tank installed on a Saturday 9-9-17 from Home Depot. original quote was 1,200. Due to code upgrades and having to go with the short tank due to venting concerns it was 1,700. It was probably 12-15 years since the last water heater was installed so no surprise I needed additional work done.
