The Yard is definitely a family-friendly spot and one of our go-to places to meet friends. We brought our dog along this time, which is always a plus for us. This wasn't our first visit, and once again, everything was great. I wish I had snapped a photo of the food, but we've consistently been more than satisfied every time we come. It's usually pretty busy, but we've noticed it starts to quiet down around 7 p.m., so that's a good time to come if you prefer a more relaxed vibe. They've got large TVs playing games, which adds to the fun atmosphere. The cocktails were delicious. We have been avoiding this place due to the amount of children that are allowed to just freely run around the restaurant. Yesterday, we decided to give it a try. We were lucky that we got a table quickly and it was near the center bar seating area. The majority of us ordered the burger and fries combo. You also have to bus your own tables. The burgers were okay, the fries were really good. My old fashioned was good, but not $14 dollars good. My friends margarita tasted like straight up pepper juice. Wasn't for me. It would have been better if it had a hint of the peppers. My other friend got the chicken sandwich and she said it was good. Overall I am thoroughly surprised. My boyfriend and I decided to check this place out on a Saturday evening. There's lots of seating and it's family friendly. It's very reminiscent of Gott's. Service was quick and helpful. We ordered the crinkle cut fries, "Filthy Fries", the Double Smash Burger, and Chicken Sando to share. I thought I would enjoy the Filthy Fries as it reminded me of In-N-Out's animal fries just from the look. I didn't enjoy the taste of the Attra secret sauce with American cheese. I'd skip trying it if it's your first time going. Their regular crinkle cut fries are much better (you can ask for their secret sauce on the side). I absolutely loved the chicken sando--a perfect blend of sweetness, very mild heat from the honey, tanginess, & umami. Girls night out at this new location. I must say they met their examples in concept art but it really turned out to be a lot of wasted seating space. The outer locations of the "yard" are surrounded with wood, three sided seating. One small table per seating section. The area is so large they could have split each one and had more of an intimate seating for groups with the table being more comfortable and inviting. When they went for yard, that is pretty much what you get. It felt more of a daycare than a real family environment. Great you can bring your kids, but it's not a daycare and people shouldn't be asking your kids to not throw a normal size football over your head or into your seating area. Or having to watch your step for small toys strung all out on the ground. The staff? Absolutely amazing. Most of them are younger and I must say they hired great people. Food.. We ordered a smash-burger and fries. We asked if we could spilt the burger and the order taker offered to have it cut in half. This was a fail as the burger came out cut 1/4 down the middle. Fail on the food preparer. lol Fries were great, just your average crinkle cut French fry but fried well. We each tried the "Class of 06" Couldn't really taste the alcohol, and it was just ok. We unfortunately came late near closing so we didn't get to try other menu items. Overall, if you want your kids to roam free like at Chucky Cheese, this is your spot. Really frustrating experience. I showed up early and waited outside for about 30 minutes before they opened, since their hours say they open from 5-9 on weekends. As soon as they opened, I went in and was immediately told by the host that they weren't accepting walk-ins unless you had a reservation. No heads-up, no signage, nothing--just told to wait another 2 hours. After already waiting outside before opening, that's unacceptable. If you're not going to allow walk-ins, you should make that clear ahead of time instead of wasting people's time. Definitely disappointed. read more

Well we could not resist and went to The Yard again - this time to try out their cocktails and Chicken Sando. And we were not disappointed ! The Pepperoncini Margarita hit the mark with its sharp sting in the first sip after which the Bianco Tequila comes behind it soothing and numbing you! I loved it. The Class of '06 was hibiscus infused vodka with lemonade was so refreshing and perfect for the hot summer evening! Better half was happy ! The Chicken Sando was humongous in size with a perfectly fried chicken between the potato buns along with lots of pickled cucumbers and their secret sauce, The only negative we could find in this was that potato bun did not hold up and broke and shredded as we dug into the Sando, But we can attest, it did not take away anything from its taste ! The star of this place - The liberty Smash burger was so good and well prepared , we wolfed it down in just a few bites. Perfectly cooked and smashed patty and perfect bun to meat ratio, we will dream of this tonight! And then the Attra sauce took it to the next level! Even the regular fries here are amazing - fresh crispy to a crunch in each nibble and so very lightly salted they can hold their own against the star dishes here! And if you get the Attra sauce and cheese over them as in the Filthy Fries, they become the most sought after and tasty version of Fries we have ever come to love ! Great food we had smash burgers fries and the chicken sandwich. Everyone enjoyed their food. For smash burgers they are a little thicker than some other burger joints so you can prob get away with a single w cheese and it will fill you up. I typically prefer smash burgers w more of a crispy edge and the 4 stars instead of 5 is in comparison w other smash burger spots ive had but not saying this place isnt great. If you are in the area id def say try this over the most popular burger joint in n out and see what you think. They also serve Alameda soda which I never heard of but I really enjoyed and its unlimited refills. Seating is small inside but can handle maybe 10. They also have a bar and im sure its the spot in spring and summer as there is plenty of outdoor seating. Staff is very friendly too. What could they improve or offer? Took my mom here for her birthday dinner before a movie and well although she enjoyed it I felt like I spent money on burnt crisp, first off I don't know if it's just a Brentwood thing but the off brand sodas they have to go it's not very good tasting. On Saturday, May 23, 2026, our family visited The Yard after my sister spent the day at a funeral. We came hoping for a calm, family-friendly evening. What we got was the opposite. Another group's unsupervised children repeatedly threw a beanbag at my teenage niece, hitting her in the face twice. When my brother-in-law calmly asked the father to watch his kids, the father's wife was visibly drunk and stormed over screaming obscenities at us. She called me the c-word, hurled vile insults at my brother-in-law, and shouted "f*** God" in a venue full of families. She then falsely accused me of photographing her children. I had raised my phone to document her behavior after she became the aggressor. When the owner arrived, he sided with the drunk, abusive patron and turned on us, the people who had done absolutely nothing wrong. This place markets itself as family-friendly and tells customers to "love your neighbor." On May 23rd, the owner had a chance to live up to that and chose not to. We will not be back. read more
