I was holding off on writing a review until I had the chance to go a few times since the new head chef came in and revamped the menu. Now that I have had two dinners, on March 5th and 27th, and a recent brunch, June 6, here is what I can conclude: The Food: Everything I have tried on the menu so far has been pretty flipping delicious beautifully, but not pretentiously, presented looking and tasting like a truly from scratch kitchen (which did not seem to be the case with the previous chef/menu). Standout mains included a beef stroganoff special, the fish and chips and possibly the best shrimp and grits (might be only a weekend brunch item?) I have ever had (to the point that I am likely to go back and have it again in the next week or two) Standout apps were the raw oysters (especially the in house pickled watermelon mignonette), the pulled pork sliders, brussel sprouts and recently a new buffalo style baby back ribs with shaved celery and blue cheese crumbles (it was so good my sister would not let us finish it so that she could take the last bite home to share with my brother in law and give him pointers) Standout desserts included the bread pudding and the cream brulee. The Drinks: Cocktails had a rougher start but were excellent in June. Back in March the cocktail menu seemed a bit confused. Several drinks I tried were incredibly unbalanced (and whether that was due to bad recipes or errors while executing said recipes who knows). I feel like they might not always have had an experienced bartender behind the bar, back in March, because one time it was something as simple as a gin & tonic that was accidentally made with plain soda because the syrup had run out and no one seemed to know how to help correct the issue. Whoever revamped the cocktail menu, please accept a huge THANK YOU! I will now be drinking my way through the menu over my next several visits. The standouts recently were the exceptional clarified milk punch cocktail called Sweet Disposition and the Strawberry Letter. The Service: Excellent. Everyone I have interacted with, especially the serving staff, have been attentive and took brief moments to make kind personal connections. One even gushed about how happy they have been seeing the changes implemented by this new incoming chef. The Venue: It has a relaxed golf course club room atmosphere with a main upstairs dining room and patio seating (weather permitting). There is also a downstairs area with an additional bar and space for live music (which seems to be a regular occurrence). I appreciated the separation which allowed for distinct vibes depending on your mood. My biggest pet peeve is when my whole meal comes all at once; but Addie was so good on checking up on us and timing all the course's perfectly. Me and my cousins went out here for some amazing, quality bonding time. The drinks are super strong, the food is really solid and tasty, and all the staff is super sweet and accommodating. A lot of our drinks and foods came out late because of short staffing, but our server made it up to us by camping some additional goodies. We got to be a part of someone's graduation down below on the patio, so it's a great space for the community. The inside is very warm and cozy and gives classic restaurant level dining but the outside patio is a nice cool vibe for the summer. Great addition to the Brentwood area! We started off with some drinks to celebrate my friend's bday: I love everything yuzu, so I was excited to try the strawberry letter. So good! So good that my friend got it for her second round! At our server, Audrey's recommendation, we got the crispy tuna and Caesar brussel sprouts to start. Both phenomenal. My friend's orecchiette pasta with shrimp addition and my fish and chips didn't disappoint either. Good portion sizes too. Audrey provided great service and upon learning we were celebrating a birthday, presented us with a birthday dessert (3 scoops of ice cream)! Made with olive oil fat-washed Wild Roots gin, Cocchi Americano, Amontillado sherry, and garnished with Spanish olives, it was incredibly smooth, savory, and complex. We also had the **Hoptomic Double IPA** from Morgan Territory Brewing. It's a beautifully balanced, bold DIPA that paired wonderfully with the rich, savory notes of the pizza. Overall Experience With fantastic outdoor seating, a relaxed atmosphere, and a menu where everything hits the mark, Eight Acres Kitchen & Bar has earned every single one of these five stars. I'm updating my review after dining here again with coworkers. I noticed a huge improvement in both the service and the food. The noise level inside has also improved--it seemed like they lowered the volume of the music, which made the atmosphere much more enjoyable. The food was very tasty, and our server (who also helped us on a previous visit) mentioned that they brought in a new chef about three weeks ago. I think that has made a big difference. The only thing that still wasn't great was the hostess experience. They all seem to be fairly young, which is totally fine, but they didn't acknowledge us for quite a while when we arrived--not even a quick "we'll be right with you." I really enjoyed our first visit to this restaurant that used to be a golf course. The upstairs and bright and airy with a wonderful view and the downstairs area was cozy with darker lighting but more spacious. We chose to eat downstairs so my son could get his wiggles out. We ordered the tatchos and brussel sprouts to share. I wish the brussel sprouts were a little crispier but the taste was good. The table ordered two burgers, fish tacos, the mushroom pizza and Mac and cheese for my little one. Came here with a group recently and overall had a really great experience at Eight Acres. The restaurant itself is beautiful, the views are great, and if the weather cooperates I'd definitely recommend sitting outside. We tried a few different items and honestly everything was really solid. The Caesar salad was a huge portion with plenty of chicken and shaved parmesan, plus a couple slices of toasted sourdough that were a nice touch. The deviled eggs were super tasty and a great starter for the table. The burger was probably my favorite thing we ordered. The bacon jam, arugula, gruyere, pickled red onions, and roasted garlic aioli all worked so well together. Really good flavor combination and cooked perfectly. The mushroom pizza was also excellent and would be a great option for vegetarians. The crust was crisp on the outside but still fluffy inside, and the toppings tasted really fresh and high quality. The only reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars was the timing of the food. Everyone at our table got their meals except for one burger that came out about 7-10 minutes later. It's always awkward because nobody wants to let their food get cold, but you also don't want one person just sitting there while everyone else eats. They were also out of the potato casserole, but honestly that alone wouldn't have affected the rating. The bigger issue was just making sure the table's food comes out together. Please note this review is a few months late. I had heard very mixed feedback from friends--some great, some not so great--so we decided to try it for ourselves. A girls' night brought us in the first time, though I'll admit the drive through the surrounding neighborhoods made us question whether it would be worth the trip.. We gave it a second try for a late birthday dinner, hoping for a different experience, but unfortunately it felt very similar. Two of us ordered the chicken salad, and another friend had the gnocchi pumpkin pasta, that last may be wrong.. The salads were fine, but the chicken lacked seasoning and could have benefited from more flavor. The sauce on the gnocchi was also on the mild side seasoning-wise, and my friend felt the portion was quite small. Overall, the experience wasn't bad, but it didn't quite meet expectations--especially after giving it a second chance. I likely wouldn't return unless it was a group outing and I wasn't choosing the location. If having to do winding roads I'd rather trek to Bull Valley Roadhouse in Port Costa. read more

Eight Acres in the 94513 area was a pleasant first-time visit. I stopped by for a business lunch, and the surrounding area is really cute--quiet, charming, and inviting. The restaurant itself was a bit smaller than it appears on social media, but it still had a cozy, comfortable feel. Our server was pleasant and attentive, making the lunch experience smooth and unrushed. The menu, while straightforward, could use a little more variety. I did find myself wishing they offered calamari. Update 1/9/26 After the review I posted 12/30/25, the concerns regarding the foods reviewed were addressed. Both the co-owner of Eight Acres, Michael Karp (Who is the owner of Le Bon Temp Premier Restaurant Group), and the General Manager of Eight Acres, Michael French contacted me regarding concerns from our last visit to Eight Acres. They stated that they take every review seriously. They investigate, address, and fix concerns from negative reviews to make patron's experience better. That being said, my wife and I revisited Eight Acres on 1/9/26 for dinner. We were told that the menu had changed addressing numerous concerns regarding some items in their previous menu. Gone are the "Fried Half Chicken for $32, and the "Premium NY Steak" priced at $52. We observed the General Manger Michael French go around to various tables asking how everything was. Michael came by our table to make sure everything was fine. We were seated in the main dining area. We ordered: Chicken Wings - 5/5 The chicken wings were great during our last visit, It was the same for this visit, the chicken wings were prepared perfectly. The wings (flats and drumettes) were deliciously tender. The lemon pepper amount was perfect, not overpowering. The honey drizzle gave the chicken wings a hint of sweetness which was unique and very tasty. I must order starter. Ahi Tuna Tostadas - 5/5 My wife loved this starter. They were a bit small. You get 4. Each mini ahi tuna tostada is packed full of flavor. Along with the ahi tuna, sliced avocado with chili, salsa, lime and cilantro gave a tasty citrus flavor, I was happy that the cilantro was not overpowering, which can happen. The ahi tuna tostada was delcious. Hot Pretzel Sticks + Queso - 5/5 You get 3 large pretzel sticks. The pretzels were baked golden brown, and were soft to the bite. The Queso dip usually made from creamy melted cheese often flavored with chili peppers, tomatoes, and spices. Eight Acres Queso dip was made with bacon and green onions. The Queso dipping sauce went very well with the Hot Pretzel. If you are used to having bread with your dinner, order the Hot Pretzel. You'll love it. Beet Salad - 4.5/5 You get 4 large round slices of roasted beets, along with arugula, fennel, ricotta cheese slices, toasted walnuts with champagne vinaigrette as the dressing. This salad was very good, but for some odd reason, the salad was slightly on the salty side. Not sure if this was from the vinaigrette dressing, but it did not take away from the overall taste. BLTA Wedge - 5/5 This salad is large enough to share for two. You get two quarters of iceberg lettuce topped pickled red onions, with ranch dressing, heirloom cherry tomatoes, small bits of avocado, and hard boiled eggs crumbles. I asked not to add the blue cheese crumbles. Together, you get a very tasty refreshing salad. Order this and ask for an extra plate to share. Pan Seared Salmon -4.5/5 My wife said the salmon was cooked perfectly. It was not overcooked or dry. The fillet was flaky tender, and went very well with the cauliflower purée. The arugula salad was ok, but a vegetable side like carrots/broccoli would have been preferred rather than the arugula salad since the beet salad was made with arugula. This avoids duplicating veggies from salads and entrees. Steak Frites - 4/5/5 The Flat Iron steak was cooked perfectly medium rare. The meat was very tender. The chimichurri sauce combined well with the flat iron steak. I know a lot of individuals who dislike parsley. I would love to have this flat iron steak with a wine mushroom sauce. That would be a winner!! There were a lot of French fries and they were very good. Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. Instead of French fries, I would consider a baked potato as a choice or option. It wouldn't hurt adding a veggie with the steak too. Sautéed Wild Mushrooms - 5/5 This time, the mushrooms were sliced perfectly. Not too thin as before. The flavor was on point. Not salty or overcooked. An excellent side to order. Sourdough Donuts - 4/5 This dessert is unique. Sourdough deep fried, and covered with powder sugar. When you get it, it looks light and fluffy. When you bite into it, it kind of tastes like a heavy beignets. You can taste the sourdough, but dip the warm sourdough donut into the chocolate or the caramel dipping sauce, the flavor is wonderful. A very good choice and shareable dessert to end the dinner with a satisfying sweet treat. Overall, our return visit to Eight Acres was pleasantly enjoyable. The service was outstanding, and the foods we selected had the quality that we were looking for. Our last visit was probably an anomaly, the chef might have had a bad day. All concerns were addressed & fixed. My wife will be returning with some of her friends who wanted to try Eight Acres. I will update my review hoping the consistency of excellent service, and good food still continues. After this visit, I would recommend giving Eight Acres try. read more

Eight Acres is amazing! We heard so many good things about it from friends and finally had the chance to come by and check it out. Beautiful location, with rolling hills nearby. It's a great date night spot. We tried several appetizers: the burrata (amazing), the cheese curds, and the cheese steak sliders. Everything was delicious, but the burrata especially was our favorite. Whatever bread they use is so fresh and delicious. I also had the beet salad, which, as a beet lover, sounded amazing. It didn't come with as many beets as I was hoping but it was still good. Definitely recommend! read more

Solid spot for the vicinity, but not quite a standout. The food was on par for the area, nothing to complain about and a few dishes were genuinely enjoyable. Service held up fine as well. Where it misses a bit is the ambiance (circa Fall 2025). The lighting feels a little sterile, which takes away from what could otherwise be a warmer, more relaxed vibe. We came on a really rainy day so I didn't explore outside much, though the scenery looked beautiful from what I could see. Our server was pleasant. Nothing extraordinary, but we can tell she's still getting an understanding of the menu. Drinks were a bit pricey IMO. Food was good. I split the burger (with think bacon slice), fries were delicious and a pizza, which was also pretty good. All in all not a bad experience, but overall I think this place is a bit pricey for the portions and the food they serve. This review is for the To-Go weekend brunch offering only. My mom is a tough customer. She has a very narrow range of want food she finds acceptable. Even still, I felt confident ordering her the blueberry French toast from here. And man, I was right! My mom was absolutely floored and she gobbled up half of her plate until she literally could not eat another bite. You know food is tasty when you eat to failure and pain! Objectively, I appreciated how crispy the exterior was, the quality of the toppings, the fluffiness of the interior, and the perfect sweetness ratio. The rest of us had breakfast burritos and tater tots, both of which were soooo delicious. All 3 of us were vying for the hot sauce / salsa, which I think was a type of sweet Sriracha salsa maybe? That was so more-ish and addictive. We had a tough week due to family emergencies, so my entire family were all so happy to have such a lovely end cap on Sunday. And altogether the food and service were exceptional. I can't wait to return to try other meals like dinner or lunch. I think having an upscale restaurant like this in Brentwood is a real benefit to the area! read more

I am writing to express my disappointment regarding our dining experience at Eight Acres Kitchen & Bar on July 11 at approximately 6:00 PM. Our party consisted of 12 family members. Based on a friend's recommendation, each of us drove between one and two hours to dine at your restaurant and to watch the soccer match together. When we arrived, we specifically asked the host if we could be seated near a television showing the game. After our table was assigned, we were surprised to see that one of your staff members changed the channel on the television closest to our table, forcing us to watch the match on a much more distant screen. When our server came to take our order, we requested that the bill be divided among our five families. To our surprise, we were told that it could only be split into three checks. Although this was inconvenient, I agreed to combine the bills for three families on my check to avoid further issues. Unfortunately, the problems continued. Two families at our table ordered identical meals at the same time, yet one family's food arrived approximately 15 minutes after the other family's meal. This significantly disrupted our shared dining experience. Finally, when it was time to pay, a different staff member approached our table and presented a single bill for the entire party. When we reminded her that we had requested separate checks, she claimed that our original server had instructed her to bring one combined bill. Every member of our party heard the original conversation, and this was simply not true. Rather than acknowledging the mistake or offering an apology, she attempted to shift the responsibility onto us instead of accepting responsibility for your staff's error. While we appreciated the atmosphere of your restaurant and enjoyed the quality of the food, we were extremely disappointed by the level of service and the way the situation was handled. The repeated mistakes, the lack of communication, and the complete absence of a sincere apology left us with a very negative impression. Under these circumstances, we do not believe it was appropriate to require us to pay the mandatory 20% gratuity. Gratuities are generally intended to recognize good service, and unfortunately, the service we received fell well below the standard we expected. read more

This is our second time visiting Eight Acres Kitchen & Bar. We were excited to try the new sausage po'boy after being told by staff that the chef is from New Orleans, but unfortunately, it fell flat. Having visited New Orleans nearly 100 times for work, I know what to expect, and this was far from authentic; it was served as two sausage patties on stale bread rather than the traditional andouille. The margherita pizza was also disappointing, as it was overly saturated in sauce with very little cheese, and lacked the fresh tomatoes one would expect. While the venue itself is beautiful--offering a lovely atmosphere both inside and out--the food quality simply doesn't justify a special trip. The location is tucked into a residential neighborhood with limited parking, so it is likely best suited for locals looking for a drink within walking distance rather than a culinary destination. To their credit, the staff is kind, friendly, and cordial, even if their service lacks a bit of polish. If you aren't a local, I wouldn't recommend wasting your time or money here. read more

This was our first time dinning at Eight Acres Kitchen & Bar, which is tucked away in a residential area of Brentwood. The property is surrounded by olive trees and other foliage...beautiful! We dined on the patio and enjoyed a couple glasses of wine, pork sliders and Caesar salads. The salads were good, but the highlight was the sliders with a deeply smoked pork. Very mixed review. While on the newer side I waited hoping they would work out the kinks. Food was delicious. Would order to go again for sure. We had the cheese curds- light and fluffy. The mushroom pizza was also delicious. Huge portion. And the burger was very tasty. The service was fine. Seated quickly upstairs. There is a bar downstairs with TVs and yes you can order food down there on a limited menu. The atmosphere is rough. We had a couple of pesky flies that just wouldn't leave. The acoustics upstairs make it very loud and difficult to carry on a conversation. Looks like they are trying to fix this?? The food was good, but they were out of a lot of items (oysters, po boys, flourless chocolate tort and something else, I forgot lol). I ordered the bbq platter. The pork belly was more along the lines of shredded pork but extremely tender and juicy, the link was "ok", the corn was grilled beautifully and was delicious, the potato salad was a little bland for my liking, the deviled egg a little too salty). The strawberry salad was yummy and the added goat cheese neutralized the peppery nature of the arugula. Hubby had the fried chicken, I thought it was supposed to come with a thigh, but maybe I was wrong. I'm not a fan of fried chicken breast and think fried chicken is best served dark meat lol! That aside, the crust was on point! Flaky, crispy crunchy not too heavy and seasoned just right! The collards were tender, but I typically don't like vinegar in my greens- I know a lot ya'll do, just not a fan. They were definitely seasoned with a smoke ham hock for the win- actually the only way to do em right! (ALL my family and hubby's too originated from the south, we regularly cook soul food so we know good fried chicken!!'). Anyway, the cheese curds are good but not Wisconsin cheese curd good - although to be fair, I don't think anyone's cheese curds are like they do in Wisconsin:) The mushrooms were also delicious! We sat downstairs where it was a bit quieter, the rustic modern feel was just up our alley & so cute. The views of the vineyard outside are absolutely charming too. Loved it here! Came here because it just opened and was only a 10min walk OR drive from my partners mom's place. Stunning view of what used to be the golf course AND the garden they are growing around the restaurant. I believe they are trying to make this a farm to table style restaurant! Both the hostess and the waiter were super sweet and checked in on us often! In addition to that, we got compliments from both of them separately (this is how I am won haha). 9/10 ahi tuna tostada. It very scrumptious. The sauce was hitting the right spots and the fish felt very fresh (at least as fresh as in can get). The salmon was cooked to perfection - very juicy and soft. 9/10 breakfast for dessert (not pictured). Perfect crunchiness and perfect flavor. Third visit tonight and still a solid spot for drinks and dinner. My partner had the Hoptomic Double IPA (good), though the Fieldwork Hazy IPA from our last visit was more our style. My vodka martini was smooth and well‑made. We started with the half‑dozen oysters....deep, sweet, tiny, and delicious. The shishito peppers were blistered just right with a great coriander‑lime vinaigrette. For mains, the pan‑seared salmon with cauliflower purée was a bit bland, but the Eight Acres Burger was outstanding--juicy, flavorful, and absolutely worth ordering.
