Well, not much to say really. Just another crappy chain restaurant. I swear, I don't understand why beautiful Happy Valley cannot sustain or even GET a good and independent restaurant! The food is typical pub(ish), albeit expensive for the quality. Nothing is locally sourced, so no organic meat and veggies. They say the burgers are 'Angus'...WTF? Who cares what kind of cow they come from? I just want to know if they are grown humanity and organically, which they are not. Beer is very cold, or so my husband said. Just awful!! First visit and will be our last. Wife and I went in for the happy hour today. Everything was fine at first, and we ordered the drinks and placed our entries. However, my order showed up and we started to chow-down the appetizer and was hoping the other dish would come along in a few minute. About ten minutes later, then fifteen minutes went by, nothing, Zip! Nothing! Nada! WTF!! We noticed that our waitress were so busy chatting with a group of guys (flirting) near by our booth. The food and drinks are over priced. The drinks are really small, even though they're creative and taste great. The food doesn't have enough flavor and just wasn't worth the price. I asked the waitress if their wings were good and she said no. We ended up getting what she suggested as being the best appetizers and we were still underwhelmed. I don't think the happy hour prices are that great either. Typical Clackamas chain restaurant that people will go to just based on proximity and not wanting to drive to "the city". The people here are fabulous, GREAT staff! Dinner selection is great and all prepared fresh with gluten free options other than fries and salad with no dressing. The weekend breakfast for us was a bust, but I highly recommend for dinner eats. Even better is the Happy Hour. Yay! A new place in Clackamas....much needed! My boyfriend and I came right before the dinner rush. We were seated right away and a server came to our table before we could even look at the menu- nice! In fact 3 people came to answer questions or check on us until we were ready to order. The menu and atmosphere are similar to a Red Robin. TV's are audible with sports games airing. The prices are a little high in my opinion. Most of the burgers are around $13, sandwiches are around $12 and salads, about $14. Happy hour prices range from $4.75-$8.75. We shared both the guacamole burger and the jalapeño burger with salads and a side of fries. The burgers were okay. The flavor of the jalapeño was a bit better than the guacamole burger. Salads were substandard and the fries were alright. It was fun to try something new. Our server Ashely was super great! We might be back. However, if I'm just in the mood for happy hour, I'm going to stick to Claim Jumpers prices and hours! read more

Service was great! The door was opened for us by a greeter, we were seated immediately, drinks arrived promptly and the food arrived quickly as well. Just had breakfast and I have to say it was ok, nothing great, just ok. Had a situation with slow business and some issues with the food that I got, but they quickly resolved the issue and I have to give the manager credit for that. We came out during the opening week and I always expect opening night/week to be a less than stellar experience however I was pleasantly surprised that everything went off without any issues! The food was timely and correct, and more importantly it was good (typical American pub food, but good) and the ice drinks are delicious!! We each had several. This place is fabulous! So many options for food and everything I've tried is so good! Their icy drinks are really fun and only $6.50 on HH! Plus they serve them with a shaker so you get a whole extra drink. All of the staff is super friendly and we've had really great service. I guess my only complaint would be that pre bussing is not top notch, but I always come in when it's super busy! Ashley deserves an extra shoutout. She's amazing at her job, extra accommodating and patient even when the place is packed! read more

Our family just had an amazing experience at Hopjacks. The waitress brought it to her manager's attention that one of us wasn't exactly pleased with an entree. The manager came right over and asked if he could do anything to make it right. We said that it was fine. He walked away for a few minutes and came back with a new entree done the right way and offered to take it off our bill as well. The waitstaff is always friendly, quick and thorough and the food is always delicious. We will be coming back! read more

Been twice and each visit was very good. The food tastes great and the service is very good. My wife is vegetarian and was able to find meals that she likes as well as the traditional burger fares. Only downside is that they are very crowded so you have to pick some slow times. Recommend times between 1:30 - 4:00. read more

We have been visiting this location since it opened and it's seems that the food quality has been dropping. Today our burger buns just fell apart as we tried to eat which often means they are old. I had guacamole on my burger that was more grey than green, it tasted ok but didn't look appealing. We had their tempura pickles that were more batter than pickles. read more

My girlfriend and I decided to try this "restaurant" out after feeling the urge to dine out. Some friends of ours had let us know about this place so we went for it. The staff were nice, a little cumbersome to have the manager come check ID's for a second time before we could order drinks but we brushed it off as a formality for OLCC and a new business. The strawberry mojito my girlfriend ordered was way too sweet so we ended up switching to a rum and "Pepsi" which was a little disappointing. Then we ordered our food - a California turkey club and a chicken sandwich. What a let down! Food is nooothing special and my side salad? Looked like you took the toppings off a Taco Bell crunchy taco and dumped it into a bowl. The beer selection is okay and served cold with a good head, which was probably the best thing about the place. We literally should have gone to Applebee's which is saying something. read more

My wife and I met some friends here for lunch last week and it was completely average if not below average in every way. The mozzarella sticks were over breaded and over cooked and the marina sauce tasted like they dumped it out of a jar a heated it. My sandwich was below average and had bread that was so thick I thought I was having a bread sandwich instead of a chicken sandwich. Additionally there was nearly no mayo or other condiments so between this and the thick bread it was very dry. The fries were just ok. My wife's sandwich was supposed to have Caesar dressing on it, but there was almost none to be found, so it was also far too big and dry to be considered anything but below average. Plus it was very expensive (around $45) for an appetizer, one drink, and 2 sandwiches. We won't be back. read more

One of the worst experiences I have had in a loooong time. I visited HopJacks on a Thursday night with my girlfriend and parents to check out a "new spot in Clackamas". When we arrived I noticed my parents were seated in the bar with drinks, so we walked in the bar to sit down with them. Before I was able to sit down, and relax for a moment, the server asked for our ID. Ordinarily, this is not a problem, and doesn't happen as frequently due to the fact that I am 30 and my girlfriend is 32. Nevertheless, we fumble to get our ID's out, when my girlfriend realizes that she does not have hers because she switched her purse earlier in the day. The server ushers us out of the bar as fast as she can, unapologetically telling us "rules are rules". We are a little caught off guard, but we comply to sit in the restaurant, where we are greeted by a new server... his name is Farmer and he tells us that we will be "all taken care of". He asks us what we want to drink, and as we order.... none of us get carded. So we all order alcohol as previously planned, before our abrupt exit from the bar. We order food and drinks despite the previous experience, and continued our conversation. 15-20 minutes go by when Farmer appears, and demands he see our IDs. We tell him that my girlfriend is 32 and does not have her ID and he takes the drink away and says "sorry, rules are rules". As we watch him walk away, we see our original server from the bar whispering to him as if she had solved the mystery and wanted to see justice. I do understand that there are rules and regulations in place for a reason. However, the unjust treatment, and disregard for service and hospitality was very unnecessary. We just could have been greeted in a better manner all around. We usually steer clear of mass produced establishments similar to this for many reasons.This lack of customer service, sincerity, and lackluster menu, reassures me that we are not missing anything. We were so excited to go to Hop Jacks for dinner and were equally disappointed with our experience. Service--Excellent-Very friendly and attentive waitress Atmosphere-Good/fair- (hostess was annoyed when we requested a booth for our family.) Food-Poor-VERY bland- mozzarella sticks-no flavor to breading, macaroni & cheese-huge disappointment, bland and greasy, side bread also lacked any flavor, fish & chips-flavorless, tater tots looked freezer burned.
