We came here for lunch the other day and ordered the egg roll platter (one of each - steak and cheese, bulgogi, and chicken parm) along with the Holy Cheezus and Burger grilled cheese. As sides with our entrees we got both the regular tots and loaded tots (totchos). All the egg rolls were delicious, but I thought the seasoning on the bulgogi egg roll was particularly good. Holy Cheezus is a must if you want the most decadent grilled cheese option -- the crisped cheese on the outside is amazing. The Burger was forgettable. Decently cooked but they should season the beef patty better, it's just too bland. Tots were delicious and loaded is a decidedly better option. Love the beer cheese they use for these. read more

I was looking for somewhere that had outdoor seating during Covid with heaters, and this place fit the bill. It's not apparent from the entrance but there's a large back patio with picnic tables and outdoor heaters that is dog-friendly. The patio was littered with garbage- it looked like maybe there was a party the night before but it wasn't cleaned up. I really didn't like the food- deep fried and not fresh. There's lots of great beers on tap, but they don't do flights, which was disappointing. The heaters weren't turned on for the first 10 minutes but even after they were on the wind made them totally ineffective. I don't think I'll be back- I really didn't like the food, which is unfortunate because the space itself and the beer selection weren't bad. read more

This review is for uber eats delivery - steak and cheese was just ok, nothing memorable. It was covered and I mean covered in mayo. Luckily I don't mind mayo but they should indicate this comes standard as a condiment in the uber eats menu. Ordered a side of sweet potato fries for my husband since he had a sandwich leftover from lunch that day. We paid six dollars for maybe 15 fries (see photo). If you are going to charge $6 for a side of fries, it would be good to at least fill up the takeout box completely, or charge $3 and keep the portion size the same. Overall, the food is fairly pricey for what you get. I recommend coming for a drink or two and enjoy the back patio when the weather is nice. Skip the food. read more

I found this hole in the wall via a friend who works there. The place has positive vibes and great drinks. I do not drink beer but there as it is special. They made a mull wine upon a customer's request- moi. The food is also very good I recommend the giant pretzel or you can request the mini one savory. They have a bone fire and many gun event to attend like comedy shows. Bartenders are great especially Amir (heart) It is easy to check out too. Love this place. Someone outside suggested adding shaved ribeye to the portobello sandwich and I've now had it the last three times I've gone. I like the beverage selection, love the ease of ordering and paying via phone, we often stop in while there are events like classic rock bingo or trivia going on. This is just a really good casual spot to hang out, eat some cheese forward grill food, and drink good beverages. With regard to online ordering from the table, this isn't something I'd think I'd like as much as I do, but it really is convenient and makes it easy for splitting checks too. read more

We ordered from Hops N Shine via a food delivery service. My fiancé ordered a hotdog with ketchup and mustard and a side of cucumbers. I ordered the Walt Cheesy grilled cheese (Magic Kingdom copycat) and a side of tots. The grilled cheese was very delicious and rich and the tots were crispy. We came here for restaurant week- $35 for 2 and it comes with one appetizer, two entrees and one dessert. Hops N Shine is located in a plaza with free parking which is nice. When you walk in, the bar is on one side and then they have plenty of seating on the other side as well as lots of picnic tables in their outdoor patio! Our waiter Amir was very helpful and service was fast and friendly. We got the crab tots which were covered in tasty cheese, the pulled pork sandwich, the carb grilled cheese and the s'mores sandwich for dessert. They're really heavy and definitely not healthy but they're delicious! My favorite was the dessert- definitely try the s'mores grilled cheese- filled with mascarpone cheese, chocolate and marshmallow. Both sandwiches were very good too and you can't go wrong with either. Everything is very reasonably priced and you could get a sandwich for around $10. I wish they had some non alcoholic drinks but other than that everything was perfect. By the way, they are pretty kid friendly here! Lots of high chairs and they have a super cute fun area in the outdoor patio with pebbles that kids can play with with dump trucks and other construction vehicles. Would recommend! I def need to stop back by on a Sunny day so I can enjoy their large outdoor space, but I went when it was raining. It's a very unassuming place by the looks of the outside building and it's right next to a 7/11, but we were promptly greeted upon entrance by a friendly staff member. They have an assortment of cocktails, not just beer but I was really blown away by their food. The grilled cheese is delicious and you can even get Keto bread here! Who knew?!? We split the Walt Cheesy grilled cheese add brisket and the Herbalicious GC with tots and fries. They were both out of this world, in a world filled with short rib GC, the brisket was a phenomenal. Definitely ask for the bourbon bbq sauce. We got the beer bitter old fashioned, aerosol spritz and house IPA. All were very some of the best we've ever had of each. This place has an entire KETO GRILLED CHEESE MENU! While it's pretty easy to eat out as a keto eater (I'm looking at you, burgers with no buns), it's very rare you find a place that has good substitute carbs let alone specifically caters to keto. Enter: Hops N Shine that offers their entire grilled cheese menu on keto bread! I had been dying to check this place out since they opened, so a fellow keto friend (and our dogs) finally went a few weeks ago. The location is kind of odd in this tiny 7-11 strip mall with very little parking, but we got there early enough that parking wasn't an issue. Since we had our dogs, we didn't go inside the restaurant and instead went straight to the back entrance for the beer garden. The beer garden area is fenced in which is nice, though doggos aren't allowed off leash. Our server comes out and he grabs the keto menus for us and we chat to him about the different options. Honestly, I had been looking at the menu for days prior and still didn't know what I wanted because they all sounded so good! I ended up ordering the Herbalicious and got the avocado salad instead of the cucumber salad as a side. What came out, however, was the TBA which was probably put in by mistake because when talking to our server he kept mentioning that that was the most popular one. I told him it was totally fine and they didn't have to remake the sandwich because I seriously want to try every one of them eventually lol. It was delicious and the bread was amazing, not overly eggy or anything which sometimes happens with keto bread. The accompanying avocado salad was HUGE and that would be the part I couldn't finish because I was soooo full! I was seriously so full after this meal that I didn't even eat again till lunch the next day haha! Service was a little spotty, it seemed there was only one guy at least handling the outside and there were times when we needed drink refills and he was nowhere to be found. So we saw this place a week ago and thought it would be a great place to spend a Saturday afternoon. We got a small group (3 couples) together this Saturday to go enjoy this restaurant / bar at 3:30 p.m. Everything started out well. The bartender was great and took his time explaining the different drink options to us. He was quick to mention that the ginger syrup wasn't quite right, so that turned 2 of us off to the moonshine mule. Then the owner came over to explain that at 5:30 p.m. there was a group event taking place in this restaurant and they they would be occupying the place where we'd be sitting. I certainly wish they'd told us that before we were seated as we would have waited for another area near the front of the restaurant. Everything was going well up until 5:30 when the group started to trickle in. The food was mediocre, but that's not the reason you come to this place. The alcohol was moderately priced and there was a great selection. If you want a place that has a vast selection of beer and moonshine - this is your place! After the group showed up, you could see the owner explaining to them that we were sitting in their area. From that point on, we got several looks from the group in which it appeared that we were in their space. It made our casual afternoon extremely uncomfortable for us. To add insult to injury, both the owner and the bartender completely neglected us, in an obvious attempt to get us to leave so that they could properly host their group. That brings us to another point, which is that the owner took an order for a sample of moonshine but never brought it to the table. The bartender approached the table to us, but never made eye contact with us nor asked us if we needed anything else. By the time the owner finally came back to our table we were being crowded out by the group that had been invited to the restaurant. We felt very uncomfortable sitting in the restaurant even though we would have easily ordered another round for the table. We opted to get the check as quick as possible and exit the restaurant through the back exit (to avoid trying to make our way through the crowd). Although we did not ask for any concessions, a good owner / manager would have at least comped something for the inconvenience. We are a very loyal group of customers who spend several thousands of dollars at a restaurant / bar, unlike the group who was hosted tonight (who will likely not return). We have no issues paying the bill, but the final insult was that the electronic check automatically defaults to 20% tip (you have an option to select 25% or 18%). Do you really think I want to pay a 20% gratuity when I've been rushed out of your establishment to accommodate a group that will only be there once? I would love to have made this a regular place, but the decisions of the owner to prioritize a group over local customers made my choice very easy. I won't be back and I'll spend my money elsewhere. read more

I've been here several times and I can't say enough about this place. The drinks are great! They have several types of moonshine. I had the apple pie and it tasted exactly like apple pie. I then moved on to the moonshine infused lemonade, again amazing! The tater tots are loaded with cheese and bacon and were amazing. I love that you can build your own grilled cheese too. Hops N shine is a cute lil bar located in a shopping center near a 7 eleven.. Dont be afraid to go in , I have been driving by a few times and finally decided to stop by December 27th. I love the small intimate with wide range of tasty brews in tap and delicious moonshine. If you are big on tasty brews this is your spot, as I was there a group of 8 gentleman stopped, they were part of a brewery tour and I could see they enjoyed their beers. I do not drink beers so I am only commenting after observing people enjoying their beers lol..I decided to try the moonshine, I first ordered a margarita with a spicy flavor moonshine then I asked the bartender to make me a special holiday drink that was sweet. No sure what he made but I loved it. They have happy hour i.believe from 4 to 7pm and they have decent deals.. We ordered some fried pickled and sausage and they were decent. This is a cool place tucked away in Arlandria. I went there for lunch and had the caprese loaded grilled cheese--delicious. Highly recommend if you want a lighter option.
