We had the goat cheese and herb dip as a starter, and although I'm not typically a goat cheese lover, but the flavors they blended with it made it out of this world. Let me start off by saying that the beer, appetizers, and wait staff (until tonight) are first class. Tonight was our third visit so far and we've ordered an array of food from burgers, to fish tacos, to "old fashion" philly cheese steaks. Everything has been top notch! Even for our 16 month old son, they've been willing to do grilled chicken rather than fried tenderloins. This is definitely a great sports bar atmosphere and better than any national chain. On our second visit we were put upstairs. It was so loud up there that not only was my son covering his ears, we couldn't hear the waitress at the end of the table...nor could she hear us. So we will definitely never sit upstairs again. Tonight was our worst visit. We waited almost 15 minutes for our waitress to greet us and take our drink order, while three other waitresses walked by looking and shaking their heads. Hey, how about one of you help us instead of acknowledging how bad our waitress is. So long story short, she delivered three things to our table while others did all the leg work in delivering food and drinks. The waitress was definitely peppy and seemed like everything was great, which scares me, because this is not someone that I would want waiting on me. The food, as usual was great. We ordered some items off of the new menu and were not disappointed. The Juicy Lucy is everything it says and more. I highly recommend it! The reason for the three stars is service. We'll give this place one more shot and I'll update my review then, but if it's not better, the it'll be closing time in our book for Hop Jacks. read more

Cold Beer, Good Happy Hour Hop Jack's is a great place to grab a cold one after work or pop in with friends for a quick bite. The food is good, moderately priced and the beer is COLD. The patio is nice in the Summer. Upstairs seating can be loud, but the bar and downstairs seating is comfortable. The staff are friendly, bartenders attentive. Homemade potato chips, good fish tacos. Love the option of lighter fare having option of side of fruit. With selective eaters, can easily suit everyone. read more

So we have been to many hops n drops in wa. But this one by far is the most un family friendly due to size. Bar seating is huge! But general seating is very limited, small and tight in size. Does seem they have an upstairs area but we had to wait 15 mins for a table to finally open on the main floor. I'm guessing maybe the upstairs is only used for partys? Unsure why we were not seated upstairs. So anyways we were seated at a table not booth which is normally fine. 4 in our group plus a toddler. So we needed a high chair. Well 4 adults and a highchair in a very small tight area is horrible. We were so close to the other tables. That my toddler could turn around in his highchair and touch the other table, their cell phone, food etc. It was a nightmare. While we enjoy hops n drops food, this location is not good for families with highchairs needed. read more

1st & only experience w/ this place so far was via online family breakfast order for p/u yesterday at 8am. Placed oder on the app, which originally came out to abt $41+ for 4 various meal orders. Attempt to edit this to add a 5th meal bought price up to around $60. Initial assessment of this rate is its a bit pricey but may well be worth it, we'll see when received. NOW, oh no moment: instead of editing the order, it duplicated the original order + so now i had a $41 AND $60 purchase for 9 meals. App does not have capability to edit or cancel specific orders, must either place new order to add items to order or call in to cancel orders. Immediately called the restauraunt around 7:15am hoping someone would answer, which someone did, very nice guy, didnt catch the name. He did get the issue adjudicated and i was correctly billed for the one order only so that was that. My wife went to go p/u the order around 5-10 early, was told at 8am that it would be about 10 mins until the order was complete, ok no major problem here, life goes on, things happen. My wife is waiting in the parking lot for our p/u to be ready. More like 20 mins later, my wife is informed that our order is ready. She receives orders and returns home not thinking to check the sealed bags before departing, only to find that one $4 side order was in fact missing in action. We opted to let this one go as we had no proof that the order was not in the bags. Food was decent, nothing mind-blowing to speak of other than good amount of food for what is payed for. Considering everything involved in the day's experience, have to go w/3, with chance to improve when/if given a 2nd opportunity. read more

My family went here for my fathers day meal and we really impressed. They were really friendly and we never got the oh you got 2 little kids look. Instead most of the servers stopped by to get a smile from my youngest one. The server was really helpful and was able to answer questions that we did have. They were out of the cheese sticks that we ordered but we were informed right away and ended up going with the bbq pork flatbread which was good. All of the food was good and the portion size was decent. I have to say the price is just a little bit less than say your average chain. The upstairs seating was a bit interesting and yas seem to be detached from the rest of the place. I liked the rustic look that was very basic but works for what this place is. They dont have pointless decor say Red Robin or Applebees or anyone singing birthday songs. This place is good for all ages as my older daughter loved the music they were playing and my younger daughter enjoyed the coaster they gave her. Since my last review, I've ordered many times. Maybe the day I wrote my last review was just a bad day for them. Since COVID, I haven't eaten in the restaurant but I've gotten curbside pickup many times. The service is really attentive, usually coming out to my car before I've even had a chance to call. The food depends on what you order. There are a number of my "go to" orders that I like and some that weren't so good, like the tacos and the Kyle sandwich. The items I like a lot are the triple threat chicken sandwich, the deluxe burger, a few of the chicken wraps and the chicken taquitos, which I eat as an entree. I have really liked a few of their specials like various tempura veggies (cauliflower and asparagus) and the reuben sandwich. The one I loved the most was the Octoberfest beer cheese soup that they didn't have this year and I was SOOOO disappointed. So, in summary, I would and do eat here again but would maybe ask questions to know what I was getting before I ordered something new. Also, the soggy tater tots reheat well in the oven at 425 and get crispy but they are still kind of soggy when ordering takeout. I also love their ranch dressing. read more

On a scale of 1-10, this is how I would rate the food I've had the 3 times we've been there: Burger 9.5 Mac and Cheese 9.5 Nachos 7 The only reason I gave the Nachos a lower rating was the lack of taco seasoning. Lot's of cheese and other ingredients, but the manager told us it was supposed to be more of a lime flavor. At any rate we were disappointed and wouldn't order them again. Did a take home dinner for four tonight. The food was okay. But we paid 30$ for four take home cocktails. Using the cups they gave us, full of ice, measured one shot come the bottle they give you, we got two 3/4 full cups of cocktails. All told we paid 100$ for a family of four. I went during lunch on a Friday with a friend to grab a quick bite to eat. The atmosphere was awesome. We sat down at a booth at the bar. The food was phenomenal and he made sure our drinks were always topped off. I will definitely be coming back with my husband for dinner so I can try one of their beers. Stopped here for some comfort food and a good drink on a rainy day. I was immediately greeted at the door, seated and my order taken. I ordered: a shot of Baileys, Big Tony's BBQ Mac and an regular iced tea. The Mac was good, but the thin bread triangles were useless, because the mac is so heavy. My total was over $33 before a tip! I've given this place plenty of chances but they have disappointed me every single time. You will pay high prices for shitty food and for slow service. This last time we ordered take out, nothing too fancy but they still managed to mess up the whole thing. I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap, there were only two small pieces of fried chicken inside and no buffalo sauce. The other things we ordered were cold as well. Come to Hop Jack's for an ice cold drink...literally! Hop Jack's appears to be your typical sports bar chain restaurant but it does have some unique flair. You really can't beat Hop Jack's happy hour. $4.25 craft beers, $3.75 house wines and $5.75 real fruit martinis. A steal! Now let me get back to these real fruit martinis. I'm more of a vodka soda girl when it comes to a cocktail and stay away from sweet drinks but these martinis are swift, not too sweet, come in just about any real fruit flavor you can imagine (huckleberry is my favorite!) and are served in a miniature martini shaker that you pour into a martini glass made of ice. It is the definition of adorable. Oh and it's one of the best bang for your buck happy hour cocktails around! Speaking of icy drinks...they serve their draft beers at 34 degrees that come straight from an icy tap. There really is no better way to enjoy a beer. Their happy bites are pretty decent as well. You can enjoy a fish taco for $5.75 and a BBQ chicken quesadilla or potato chip nachos (imagine a loaded baked potato in house-made potato chip form. Topped with blue cheese. Yum). for $7.25. If you can't make it for happy hour, their burgers are not too shabby and they offer just about any combination you can imagine. Always a favourite local place to eat and/or drink. Great tap selection for a restaurant, that is literally, ice cold. The taps are covered in ice even! Sometimes, you get a delightful little beer slurpee on top. Great ice glass martinis and cocktails, with great happy hour prices. I haven't had any food that I haven't liked yet. Their flat iron steak or steak sandwich are delicious, the blue cheese nachos are to die for and LOADED with toppings, and the boneless buffalo chicken are my favourite dishes. Hop Jacks by far has the best burgers in the state of WA. Fresh ingredients, juicy and a great selection. Always perfectly cooked. Never over dressed with sauce or other condiments. Highly recommend the western burger. If you're just stopping in for happy hour (whole restaurant not just the bar) a snack? Try the huckleberry iced drop, tempura zucchini or tempura shrimp. Beer is always ice cold with an amazing selection. Ranch is homemade and also up there with the best we've ever had. Service is always very attentive and friendly. This place kicks ass for happy hour! If you have never been, hit them up durring happy hour to try lots off their menu for cheaper prices and to sample loads of food on the cheap. Take a swing by the bar and you will see the taps are actually frozen and covered in ice. Yielding some very frosty brew! The signature mix drinks are killer. Crazy ice glasses, which drip into the outside of the holder not watering your drink down. Cool idea and presentation. The food is some typical bar food, but also some other great stuff. And all of it is good! Tempura pickles and zucchini, well done, not soggy, very crisp. Fresh made potato chips made in house and turned into nachos, killer. Tempura prawns, I dig the sweet dipping sauce. Street tacos were good, I have had better, but still good food. Kids menu was basic, which is still good. Kids liked the corn dog and the in house Mac and cheese. The adult menu has several different varieties to satisfy your inner child/college student. Service was friendly and on point. Had them hold the hoop as I think this is a very bad practice Washington restaurants have put in place. 1 caution, take that 1st bite carefully as it will be hot. We came in before the fireworks display, so it was crazy busy, which was to be expected. But the staff was on point, friendly and helpful, both in the waiting area that was crammed full and once they had us sitting down. The french dip was good, the lemonades were a little over-sweet and over priced, but they came with free refunds and were happy to bring you a different flavor each time you were ready for a next one. Came in on a Friday night with kids and the place was busy. I was expecting to have to wait at least a half hour, but we only had to wait about 10 minutes! Sever was right at our table getting drink orders. Food was out super quick for how busy they were...I honestly don't think we waited more than 15 min. For our food.
