So I've lived less than five minutes from this place for 11 years, and somehow it never caught my eye. Then I saw their TikTok last night, and let me tell you, that video had me craving it instantly. The scrumptiousness was living rent free in my brain all night, so today my son and I had to stop in and see what the hype was about. We ordered the Sour Diesel, the Fire, and the Afgoo, all on their toasted jalapeño cheese bread. First of all, the female employee who helped us was so friendly and welcoming. We do not eat out much, so we were genuinely excited and maybe a little impatient to try them. When they handed us the sandwiches, I immediately noticed how heavy they were. And the smell in the car on the way home, oh my goodness. Pure torture waiting to unwrap them. Then we got home and opened them up, and I was honestly shocked in the best way. There was actually a MEAL on that bread. Not one of those sad sandwiches that's 80 percent lettuce and air. These were loaded. My teenage son even commented on how good his was, and trust me, teen approval is not handed out lightly. The portions were generous, the flavors were bold, and each sandwich was totally unique and delicious. I can confidently say I have found a new favorite sub spot. Total hidden gem if you love a good sandwich that actually fills you up and tastes incredible. I did not grab a shake this time because it was freezing outside, but after seeing all the flavor options on the menu, I will absolutely be trying one next visit. Highly recommend in every aspect. The location that is off of yelm highway is amazing and have never left me unsatisfied. Since we moved to the Lacey/Olympia area, I've been trying restaurants trying to find our new "go to" places in various genres. I was looking for a good sandwich shop, and what I had in mind was an Italian or New York or Philly transplant who had a deli with genuine hoagie rolls (IYKYK) and gets upset if you ask to customize your sandwich. What Google and Yelp pointed me towards was Canna Cabana. Its menu was fun and funky and I decided to give it a whirl expecting nothing more than a novelty gas station sandwich. I could not have been more wrong! I went to the drive-thru location on Marvin (I understand they have a dine-in on Yelm) to give them a try. Lexi helped me, and was polite, helpful, prompt, and not trying to rush me as I perused the menu. She answered my questions and made recommendations, and asked about how I heard of them and where we were in the area, so A+ on service. I went with their signature sub, the Super Dank, with crushed nacho Doritos and jalapeño cheese bread. I don't know if they slice meat to order, but they have a slicer and you can tell the meat was at least sliced fresh. Also not sure if they bake their bread in such a small shop, but it too tasted fresh and while it wasn't an East Coast hoagie roll, it had a just-right fluffiness and chewiness, which so many places seem to struggle with. The drive-thru only spot has two windows to order/pick up from. There isn't a ton of room to line up, so no idea how they might handle a rush, but at 1:30 pm I only had one person behind me. I can describe the building's vibe as "cute meets hole-in-the-wall." The sandwich making process took at most five minutes, and it was still warm when I got home, and neither the chips nor bread had gotten soggy, so magic, I guess. Not only will I be back, but when my family visits we are always trying to find great picnic food, and this will be the first place we go to next time around. read more

I've been a regular since 2021, and this place has never let me down. Every sandwich is creative & delicious and the quality is always top-notch. The staff have always been genuinely kind, and the owners are awesome, if you happen to get the chance to chat with them, take it. While Canna remains busy, they consistently pump those subs out quick which is always so nice. When I was pregnant, they were so accommodating and happy to steam my deli meat--something small, but it meant a lot. It's that kind of care that makes this spot feel like home. Or go light on jam. Bacon is always so crispy and good. Also When I go within the last hour of closing the ovens already turned off. I am picky so won't eat it if it's not toasted, kind of a bummer. Seriously the best sub sandwich I've had to date. Everything on the sandwiches is fresh and the ingredient combinations are incredibly tasty. Personally, I find the weed theme off-putting. I don't care who enjoys it, if that's their thing. But as a business model, trust and believe there are a lot of would be sandwich eaters who might come in once but never return because of the hyper focus on cannabis...no matter how incredibly tasty your sandwiches are. Being tucked away in a little strp of businesses, you need to attract all potential customers to survive. I don't live on the area, but will definitely be back the next time I'm in Lacey. I appreciate the fact that the sandwiches are freshly made and not premade so I definitely understand having to wait a while for them which for me was no big deal since my husband and I were just out and about. This sub shop is in a perfect location Get a car wash and sandwich. We come here at least once a month and each time sandwiches are decent. However, I've noticed that with each person who is working makes them differently. I still would rate at 4 stars just because I like the sandwiches so much. Hands down my favorite place to get a sub sandwich. Got off of work today and came straight to Canna Cabana for my go to sandwich - The fire with extra wow sauce on cheddar jalapeño - Toasted. And Super dank for my kiddos. They never let us down. Customer service is always friendly and on top of it, never once have they forgotten anything out of our sub's. For those who have never been, it's a small drive thru shop - always freshly made and the owners are usually the ones I see when I come by - sometimes only one person is working so if you have no patience and are rude, I would suggest you either learn how to be patient and some manners because this place is well worth the wait.
