Severely unhappy with this dentist. They outright refused to give me a total estimate for all the work that would be needed despite me on 3 separate visions asking for a total overview so I could decide what would be done over the next foreseeable future of getting work done with them. They just refuse they're very secretive and selective in what they want to tell you. They also took it upon themselves to decide for me that I would be getting their more expensive treatment option, they wanted to schedule me for a bone graft and dental implants, scaling upwards of 6k (just for extraction, not counting replacement teeth) without telling me that standard bridge/crown replacements were even an option. I also asked for a two week break in between my appointments but their scheduler made a fuss about it. Why does it matter how long I want to wait inbetween my appointments? Is it your place to tell me I should just come back tomorrow if I'm asking for an appointment two weeks from now? And then you tried to "compromise" and had me back the next week instead? That's when it finally made sense as to why they didn't want to give me estimates, because they are clearly trying to extort people into their most expensive services without them knowing. Now I understand why they wanted me to schedule an extraction and bone graft the very next day, because they didn't want me to start questioning my other options. Surprised I didn't catch COVID from this office. This place is so dang gross. it is a tiny office and gets crowded easily. Their tools are rusty Or rusting. and it reeks of saliva and bad breath. they do not change gloves as they rotate to the next patient ( barf ) during the thick of COVID, they are said I needed to pay a $30 clean up/disinfect up fee because of COVID. what a scam!!! They also keep tacking on more and more charges and services even when I don't need it. They told me I need to come in for a cleaning every 3 months cause I have gum issues... what??? DO NOT GO TO THIS DENTIST, They told me that my insurance was good, yet they charged me for cleaning, and they wanted payment upfront for a filling, they claimed that the liner for the filling is not covered.......go figure. They also wanted to charge me for some stupid varnish to protect my teeth, always trying to upsell something. I was told by my insurance company that they should have sent whatever charges to my insurance first and not bill me, I even changed my insurance because of them and still they said it did cover all what I had to have done, my present insurance disagrees, my insurance company called them, and they said I had not provided them with the correct insurance card, what a set of LIARS. I went to this dental group a few years ago for some extensive dental work (extractions of impacted wisdom teeth, an implant, etc). The work they did was good HOWEVER - I never had the crown put on my implant (long story). So now I live in TN and my current dentist needed info on the implant screw that Horizon put in... The staff at Horizon are horrendous. They made up multiple excuses as to why they couldn't give us the info. They said they would call back and never did. If there is a way to navigate through my review history, you'll see that I have never left a poor review. Horizon attempted to deceive me but failed. I would give them ZERO stars if I could. First off, I went here several months ago, and have waited to write this review. Let me first start with a bit of back history - I go to the dentist every six months, brush 3x daily, and floss 2x daily. I have no problems with my teeth except for some mild recession on my bottom gums that has not changed in years. I have never had a single cavity, even in my baby teeth. With that said, what they did to me makes this so much frustrating. I came to this dentist for a simple cleaning. They told me that they refused to see me if I did not do an X-Ray. I had done X-Rays six months earlier, but I just recently moved here from LA and at 8:00 AM (5:00 AM in LA) my dental office was not open to send it. I said just do it, I need a cleaning. After examining my mouth, they tell me that they refuse to do a standard cleaning because I need a deep cleaning. "You have the type of gums that are bad but teeth that are not prone to cavities." Um, what? I sat there pleading, "Please, just clean my teeth." I was already late to work at this point. They wanted to charge me an obscene amount of money out of pocket per quadrant, and could only do two quadrants at a time. I told them, "My dentist at home has never said anything like this." Do you know what the dentist said to me!? "Your dentist is terrible." That was my final straw. I got up, I left. Guess what? They billed my insurance for a cleaning that I did not receive. Finally, last week I made it out to LA and went to my dentist. I had to pay out of pocket $88 for a cleaning, which I believe should be reimbursed by Horizon for using one of my two cleanings per year. I explained to my dentist the situation and he began laughing. He says to me, "There is nothing wrong with your teeth. That dude was trying to rip you off." Let's see, who do I trust? A dentist I've been seeing for years and is among the best in our community? He could have doubled down and tried to rip me off, honestly I wouldn't have known any better, but my dentist was upset that someone tried to take advantage like that. Guess there is some honest people left. Shocker. You guys are fraudulent, and I reported you to my insurance company. Additionally, I will also be reporting you to the BBB. You tried to deceive the wrong person. If you read this, DO NOT go to this dentist office. Just look at the other comments that have similar stories. read more

They are price gouging their services so we as customers end up with the bigger portion of the bill. Beware! The Horizon Dental on Sunrise are grifters. They just want your money to boost their revenue. They bill you immediately AFTER your appointment is done. Don't insurance send you the bill? How are they charging BOTH the insurance AND the customer the bill? Services are poor. Fillings keep popping out. They make it easy for the fillings to fall out so you can come back to get more fillings. The cycle of grifting never ends. The equipment is outdated. The chairs are gross and fill of stains. Check what horizon dental is charging you for! Just moved to the area and went for simple annual cleaning that is covered 100% by my Insurance! However I received a bill for $246 and I have been told I should pay upfront if I want to get the cleaning! The list had Services that I did not need ( I have healthy teeth and gum) with 2 unknown item called " indescribable codes"! I said I do not want any extra services and what those unknown items are in my bill ? They said its for cleaning our office! Called my Insurance to verify those codes that they wanted me to pay for! The Insurance told me those codes MUST NOT be charged to patient! The lady in the office still insisting that "your Insurance Is wrong". My Insurance recommended me Do NOT accept the charges and pick another doctor for my cleaning! I can not trust them! Will go somewhere else! read more

Do not go here. All they care about is money. Once you start a plan with them they add on more stuff. They over bill your insurance for extra stuff we're your insurance only covers a certain about and then you have to pay. They screwed up my teeth so bad with crowns that don't fit right and a filling where they shaved half my tooth away then when I i told them I wouldn't be coming back they double charged me and sent an invoice for me to pay for something they already charged my insurance for. They charged my insurance for treating me when I hadn't been there in months. Now that I'm doing Invisalign somewhere else, they not only had to reimburse my insurance about $500 (even though they claimed they weren't charging them at first) and now they refuse to give my new dentist the trays that were sent to them in error. I usually don't leave bad reviews but these dentists are CROOKS!! My husband and I went for our annual visit and after waiting for 4 hours, we finally got our x rays done. They then told us that we would have to come back the next day for our cleaning. They then made us pay a deposit of $109 to schedule the cleaning which I thought was weird since our insurance pays 100% for cleanings but whatever. We went back the next day and after waiting another 2 hours, my husband got his cleaning and I was still waiting. I said something to the front desk who then told me they would be calling me back soon but the room had to be cleaned. Someone else came in and went straight back 30 minutes later while I was STILL sitting there. I asked to cancel my appointment because at that point I was ready to go. They were magically able to call me back and after being told multiple times that she was not supposed to be doing my cleaning, she proceeded to give me the most painful cleaning I've ever had. My gums were sore for a full week. As we were getting ready to leave, I find out that my husband has only had his bottom portion of his deep clean done and we would have to pay another 230 dollars to finish it after paying the $109 deposit and another $100. Now my cleaning should have been 100% covered since I didn't require a deep cleaning. I get that we had to pay a fee for my husband's deep cleaning. I checked with my insurance and my out of pocket should have only been $90 total. Please avoid this place at all costs. Save yourself the time and headache. read more

We were switching from our amazing dentist office: Sage Dental of Hollywood (we moved to Sawgrass). I am a person who gets my teeth cleaned every 3 months. Never a cavity or anything. Always the basic cleaning. My husband and I switched insurances (his job). These people first saw what we were wearing, they commented on my purse (how expensive, the brand), my I watch, my wedding ring, etc. Aka, they thought they could just charge us anything, since we looked to have money. Little did they know I just had my consultation with our previous dentist only 2 months ago. Within that time frame, it isn't possible for them to say, "you have periodontal disease (major cleaning)". They were trying to charge us just because they thought we we arrogant, and didn't know the codes, and "lingo" they use. DO NOT TRUST THIS OFFICE! DO NOT TRUST THE DOCTOR or the people. Even the nurses in there were like chickens with their heads cut off. They were confused. They didn't know where their tools were. They dropped items that were supposed to go in my mouth onto the floor. The mechanical chairs weren't working. The nurse actually attempted to put her hands in my mouth with no glove. NO HYGIENE, in a place that is supposed to be all about "HYGIENE". Here's to say we will definitely be going back to Sage Dental. I rather drive 30 minutes to an honest Doctor, than try to be charged falsely. Thankfully once we saw what they were trying to pull, we stopped my husband before we could be charged a doctors fee for him. Again! Please read this review and be warned! This place is a major SCAM!
