Worked with them five years ago and it went fine. Well after getting a leak after the last hail storm, I can't get them to call me back. Been waiting for a call since July 3rd despite me calling to remind them week ago. I went on the roof and stopped the leak, which was due to a chimney they should have fixed or at least mentioned last time as the deterioration seems old. I still believe there is hail damage but will call someone else. read more

To the crew and staff of Horn Brothers Roofing, I wanted to share my experience with a recent reroof of my 1932 Tudor in Denver. Horn Brothers roofing did our roofing as a result of the recent hailstorm. As a licensed General Contractor for over twenty years I have had dozens of roofs replaced on older homes and additions in our older Denver neighborhoods. A common challenge for older close together homes is handling trash and nails during and after a reroof. Horn Bros crew where exceptional in their care to make sure they collected the tiniest of trash. Each day after they where done roofing I would walk my alley searching for that errant nail that would be the cause of tire flats. I never found one nail! Because my house was an older home there where surprises as they uncovered the old roofing that required added supplies be delivered asap. The supervisor had materials delivered the very same day so that the progress didnt get slowed down. Their attention to detail like making sure everything was flashed correctly ( even if it wasn't before) painting old vents to match the color of new vents and even the small details like having a very neat overhang of roofing over the gutters was above and beyond. STAY AWAY! Of all the businesses I have ever worked with, both personally and professionally, this is one of the worst. My roof and gutter install was scheduled for November, and by July they had still not addressed all the issues with my roof or gutters. My issues have included: - Crooked edges (think wavy, I posted a picture of it to give you an idea of quality) - Peeling paint (no primer) - Poor paint coverage (primer, when used, shines through) - Water going over gutters - Nails sticking out - Roof not flat - Flashing not installed correctly The most common excuse for missed appointments has been "We had another job". We live in an older home with a Cedar Shake roof. After a few decades the roof needed to be replace. Our HOA is very defined in the materials that we could use for a new roof. Stone Coated Steel, Architectural Asphalt, Tile and one other. We looked at and received bids for all the various types of roofing material. We choose the Stone Coated Steel for the look, consumer rating and underwriters ratings (class 4 for fire, hail and wind). We choose Horn Brothers based on referrals from friends and neighbors. Left my parents house a mess - they are in their 80's and had to crawl around the yard picking up trash and nails so the dog wouldn't get hurt. Broke a few lights (they paid for but we still had to drop off and pick up). Used the wrong flashing on a skylight so the roof leaked... they fixed the leak but didn't do anything about the damage inside that the leak caused. USE someone else. read more

Would NEVER recommend. They left my yard a mess....had to clean up nails every night so my dog wouldn't hurt himself (before they were hired they assured me they would clean up after every day). They banged up my paint job (and would not take the blame). I never had a leak until they put the new roof on. They fixed the leak but never offered to fix the mess it made inside. They broke and outdoor light and their gutter person broke one (they did pay to fix the glass but I had to pick them up on the other side of town). All and all I would say that I am worried about the integrity of the roof as they displayed none in their treatment of me and my home. read more

Very slow to return phone calls and do not do what they promise. I called back in early May for gutter installation. Horn brothers installed our roof about 15 years ago. The gutters are layered under the last row of the roofing material and I wanted to make sure the new gutters are installed correctly so there is no leaking of the roof. After multiple calls to Horn Brothers and finally requesting to speak to the owner we had someone come out to do an estimate. He promised to e-mail the proposal first thing the next day. Haven't heard from them and it's been about a month. Obviously I have moved on to a different gutter company. read more
