Disappointing. Made a service appointment online. A week in advance to insure parts and time were accounted for. Oil change with filter and spark plugs. Had a coupon for service $20 off for spending a specified amount. I arrived early for my 10am appointment. Emily came to tell me that they did not have the spark plugs in stock but were almost finished with the oil change. Asked why they were out when I made an appointment, response was, other cars before mine needed them also. Must be too complicated to control inventory when you have appointments that have specific parts. Anyways, I was told to make another appointment for the plugs and I would receive a small discount. Paid for the oil change without any discount. Next apppointment, got in and done in less an hour. Time to pay. Emily applied two discounts of $10 each as a favor because the system wouldn't allow for the $20 which I would have received in the first place. I asked if she was going to give me a discount for the inconvenience, she responded what do I want to make it right. Maybe something to show that you're a little apologetic and not that I as the customer have to ask for it. You told me after the first visit you would. After punching in a bunch of keys on the keyboard, I was given an additional $5 off. Thank you. BTW, they charge you for shop supplies. Probably because of Covid so they can continue to give out coupons. The charge is $2.49 or 10% of labor which ever is greater. See the photo and tell me if your 10% of labor is different than mine?

Sunroof, if you look close the glass looks blown up from the inside.

I booked this mobile mechanic through Yelp for a diagnostic after already having my Jeep scanned at…read moreAutoZone and receiving error codes (injector, spark plugs, and gaskets). I explained this upfront and still chose to proceed with a diagnostic to confirm the issue. I was quoted a flat $65 diagnostic fee by the owner with no mention of pricing ranges or tiers. I agreed and scheduled the service. The technician arrived about 30 minutes later than scheduled, which I was informed of ahead of time. During a brief text exchange with the owner, I expressed concern due to a prior negative experience with another company. The response I received made the interaction feel slightly tense, including being told I could "find someone else" if needed. When the technician arrived, I explained the issues and the codes I already had. During the inspection, the technician began deeper inspection work on the vehicle. I was not clearly informed beforehand that more extensive disassembly or work beyond a basic diagnostic could result in additional charges. Afterward, I was told the diagnostic would actually be $200 due to the depth of the inspection, despite originally being quoted $65. After discussing this, I was ultimately charged $75. I expressed concern that the pricing change was not communicated upfront. The owner later acknowledged that he should have communicated a pricing range and that this was a mistake on his part. I requested a copy of the diagnostic findings I was being charged for. The response indicated there was no formal report, but pictures and a summary were provided. Communication afterward included frustration from the business regarding the reduced payment, despite the pricing change being due to lack of prior disclosure. While I do believe the technician performed the inspection thoroughly and provided useful findings, the core issue was the lack of clear communication around pricing structure, scope of work, and potential cost changes before work beyond a basic diagnostic began. I would recommend future customers get very clear written confirmation of what is included in the diagnostic fee, whether deeper inspection can change pricing, and what documentation will be provided before service begins.

He gave recommendations based on other things he noticed and sent me an estimate for those services right away. Communicating via text was so helpful as I was coordinating the repairs while working, and he made everything so seamless! I will definitely be using Tapia Auto for all my needs going forward!
