Overall a very nice place. I'll stop in a couple of times a month since it is a short walk from the house. Beer is above average, the Mexican lager is good in the summer as it is lighter but still tasty. With it being a little cooler, the Schwarzbier (sp?) is very nice. This has become one of my favorite spot in Kennesaw! First and foremost, the patio is SWEET. Absolutely great outdoor space with a fire pit and some covered areas as well as a 2nd floor balcony overlooking downtown Kennesaw. Couldn't ask for a better vibe. The beertenders are always cool and friendly. Not to mention they always seem to be well staffed. You won't wait long to get your beer. The beer is top notch. Really nice, refreshing lagers with a German influence. You will also find a nice selection of IPAs. They also have some frozen seltzers, if that's your thing. One thing I have noticed, however, is the offerings seem to be what they are. I don't see too many new beers pop up which is fine. Stick to what you are good at, I guess. Horned Owl does have their HOB Eats with some small bites and snack type foods but I have yet to try any of it. Every Tuesday Horned Owl Runners meets there at 6:30 for a social run followed by beers. Super fun time and you get 10% off. Definitely recommend trying this place out. What a fun brewery! We drive by all the time and finally decided to stop by. It's right off of Main Street and there is public parking right next to the brewery. They had trivia going on downstairs and also music playing over the speakers. We stopped at the bar downstairs and we were greeted by two bartenders. One bartender asked if we had ever been in before and she showed us the menu on the back wall and offered samples. She was very sweet! We grabbed our drinks and went upstairs to check out the view of downtown. It was a nice evening so the breeze was nice. Overall a fun vibe, great place for a date night and a drink. I stopped in to this brewery because I had a free beer ticket from the pigs and Peaches BBQ festival that was happening that day. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the various styles of beer they had on tap. They were generous with their samples and I tried about four before making a call. The beer was fresh and delicious and slightly different from anything else I've had period it's a very dog friendly environment so long as they are on a leash. If I could give you zero stars I would. You ain't wanna give my friend a drink (alcoholic beverage) cause she look young. But I walk in and you don't Id me and give me a drink. Social experiment failed discrimination because my friend ages gracefully and you must a been jealous. Nice place to look at, not ugly. We have finally found our brewery haunt! I have sampled pretty close to all of their beers and have not found any that are poor quality. Also they are 1 of 2 breweries in the country that offer IPAs that I enjoy (sorry IPA fans I struggle most of the time). Cover of Night is one of my all time favorite beers. The atmosphere is great both inside and outside. Their covered patio has heaters for winter and then misting fans for the hot summer days. The 2nd level patio provides a great view of Main St. You can tell the staff take pride in working there. I also enjoy seeing the owner there frequently talking with guests and engaging. They have a good rotation of food trucks and if you don't like the food truck, there are ample restaurants in walking distance. Take flight at Horned Owl! read more

This is a perfect place for warm nights in this part-inside, part-outside brewery. They have board games and lawn games like corn hole, a fire pit, and a food truck on this particular day. Horned Owl has cute merchandise too but no food or snacks. Love the logo! I was pleased with the blue-raspberry sour since I'm not a beer person. My husband enjoyed his and definitely wants to return. You can choose your size of drink and can opt to leave your tab open for the night. read more

I'm sorry, but I would like to be able to say I like this place, but I really can't. They have a lot of house brewed beers on tap and I applauds that! Especially since they are not IPA heavy. Out of the 17 different brews they had on the day of my visit, only 5 were IPAs. Horray! The beers are good for $7.50/pint, but I am totally disappointed at the food they have to offer. Am I wrong to believe that an American brew-pub should at least have a basic burger on the menu? And, I'm sorry that I refuse to pay $12.00 for a carnival pretzel! What is with a price of $11.00 for mozzarella sticks? Insane! Tater-tot basket for $12.00? Come on! I couldn't stay and keep drinking with such poor and expensive "snacks". At best, this place is an ok place to wait for your table that you booked at one of the better restaurants within walking distance. Staff are polite, but not friendly. Maybe it is different on a weekend, but the prices won't change I'm sure. I may stop back during a street festival, but I definitely will not become a "regular". This is a great venue for a small or even large party! We had our daughter's engagement party at Horned Owl Brewing with the theme of pizza, dips, charcuterie and of course--beer. The venue is a good size, has separate bathrooms (which are pretty)from the main bar room area, for both men and women, a good bar vibe and good beer. There is even access to the patio that is sectioned off so the staff nor other customers were able to pass through our party. As for pricing, it's very reasonable .The event planner is Victoria who is WONDERFUL! She was helpful throughout the planning process and was very professional. She was not pushy and very transparent. It was a great party and many thanks to Horned Owl Brewery, Victoria and Brooke the bartender for a great party! read more

This is a small brewery that opened in November 2020. I prefer dark beers and they had a decent selection of them and other types as well. They have some indoor tables and lots of outdoor space on 2 levels with umbrellas. Our group of 15 went to the upstairs deck. The service was fantastic, quick and server had no issues taking individual cards/orders. Only downside was no onsite food/snacks but the pizza place next door delivers and they work with the brewery. Definitely give this place a try. We will be back. read more

Came here this Saturday around 3:30 to finally try this place because I've been driving past it for a whole year, we had 2 glasses of the Raptor, which was good, sat at the upstairs deck, that was nice too but I wouldn't come here again, the vibe of the place was so uncomfortable, it was like as soon as we walked in the whole place stopped to look at us to question why we were there, the customers were rude, staff wasn't friendly at all, I didn't see one black or brown customer or employee in the whole place! read more

We just discovered this great brewery. Right on main st in Kennesaw. Comfortable atmosphere, really tasty beers snd fantastic staff. My friends and I have been coming to Horned Owl for years. Recently, their menu has become very limited and they do not offer a variety of drinks that they used to. Further, we stopped in on a Friday night and the general manger Megan was extremely rude to us. Our friends were sitting at a table while my husband and I went to order a drink. When I returned to the table the first thing I stated to my friends was how unkind the lady was. She didn't speak to us at all other than "what to drink" no hello, how are you, or an offer to recommend to drink. After we placed our order, their card reader wasn't working and she asked us for a different card. No apologizes offered for their problem, but we understood. Then their tap wasn't working, so we said we would be okay with an alternative and Megan snapped at us yelling "no it kicked" even though we were just trying to be kind. Later on, the women in our group wanted one of their frozen seltzer drinks with some raspberry syrup. They mix their regular seltzers with syrup but not the frozen ones apparently. She snapped at us when we tried to order what we wanted, even though we saw and spoke to other customers who had ordered the same thing. Then, we asked another employee if it was possible and they stated it used to be but the new manager won't allow it anymore. We decided to leave, and at check out I asked for the manager's name. The employee shared with me that her name is Megan, and the employee shot me a look as if she was terrified. Similar to a "help me" cry. I felt awful for the employee. We were extremely disappointed, as I said we had been loyal customers at Horned Owl for several years. Since going under management things have changed and it was unenjoyable. I recommend coming on a night when the manager Megan is not working. We imagine it would be much nicer. read more
