Horrible sushi. I've never had sushi like this that tasted so fishy and with zero flavor. Their tuna tasted old and has a taste of iron. We barely finished and I had to spit two rolls out in a napkin. The staff was notified. We had about 6-7 rolls left on the plate. They did not care and charged full price. I am Lucky to live local to a great Japanese restaurant. The staff are welcoming and friendly and extremely pleasant when serving. The sushi is always fresh and delicious with a a vast amount of entrees if you want to try some authentic Japanese dishes. I highly recommend the sushi pizza as an appetizer and the red lobster roll is a can't miss ! Thé restaurant was just renovated and had plenty of private booths to eat. My family and I come here very often, this weekend we were celebrating a birthday. We started with the Beef Negamaki app, Shrimp and Vegetable Tempura, Rock Shrimp and an Avocado Peanut Roll. Everything was super yummy! The rock shrimp I think was my favorite! For dinner we ordered a bunch of different rolls and they gave us a boat!! A lot of our favorites (Red Lobster, Yellowtail Jalapeño & Avocado Peanut) and our waitress recommened the Snow Roll (the one with all the raw fish) and it was super good! We'll definitely be adding it to the rotation when we go! The service was good, the place got a lite remodeling in my recent visits and it is clean and inviting. I'm still thinking about my dinner at Yuki Japanese Restaurant. I'm sure we will be back next time we're in town. My friends grew up around here and as soon as we said "oh yeah let's meet up at that sushi spot by the bowling alley and the train tracks" they knew exactly where I was talking about. It was easy to call and accommodate a group as large as 12 people. It was set up where we could easily catch up at one end of the table to another. It was also convenient to be able to easily split the check amongst multiple couples and groups within our group. There were so many options on the menu it was exciting to see. A group of us got the sushi boat for 4 and was greatly satisfied with how it came out. The presentation was beautiful and the four of us were very happy with the choices chef made for sashimi, nigiri, and special rolls. Very easy to split and we were very happy with the quality and taste. In addition to the boat, sushi lovers like ourselves couldn't just stop at the boat. We ended up with edamame, fried chicken, and rock shrimp as appetizers. All were delicious but my favorite was the creamy sauce on the rock shrimp. We added in the shichimi torched salmon and Phoenix rolls to just see how they are. I'm so glad we said "treat yo'self" and added those on. The shichimi was a different and more citrus flavor but you could taste the freshness. We've been on a torched salmon kick lately and it's been delicious. I really enjoyed the Phoenix roll as someone who is a fan of spicy tuna. I appreciated less rice since we were about to get a lot of it in the sushi boat. Overall we really enjoyed our time at Yuki and will be back again when the whole crew is in town! read more

I super enjoyed this place. Ordered for pickup so can't speak to dine-in experience but the place looked nice enough when I stopped in. Looked like a regular sushi joint. We ordered the sushi boat for 4 and it was almost shockingly good. I can be a bit of a sushi snob and this place got everything right. The pieces were presented beautifully, cut to the right size/thickness - and the rolls were delicious. The only piece I didn't eat was the octopus - I don't know something about the texture just threw me. I think that's an octopus problem not a Yuki problem. We also got some appetizers like shumai and rock shrimp that were both fine. Not great. Wouldn't order again - but doesn't impact the overall experience. Price was right. But what took it over the top was when we were leaving, my buddy had left his food that he was taking home, and the waitress came out and returned it to us right when we were about to leave. Yuki is one of our favorite sushi restaurants in the area. The prices are reasonable and the fish is always very fresh. The wait service is always very friendly and attentive. They do not rush you and you can order a few rolls, eat them, and then eat more. I really enjoy the speciality rolls there. Some of my favorites are the Dancing dragon roll, summer freezer roll, geisha roll, and crazy tuna roll. I also love the sushi pizza! read more

10/10 the food was amazing and really fresh. When we first walked in we were nervous because it was a saturday night and it wasn't super busy. The waitresses were so nice and attentive . Definitely a good lunch option for sushi! The restaurant is very spacious and is located in a very small business looking plaza (same as Franco's Pizza) and there is a parking lot. The restaurant was empty at lunch time, which was surprising to me since the lunch specials are a great deal and the food was delicious. I got a salmon roll lunch special which came with a miso soup and salad. The lunch special pricing can't be beat and the salmon was very fresh. While it may not be swanky like an establishment that you might find in New York City, the quality of the sushi and rolls that they serve is good. This is a well well hidden great Japanese restaurant. Fresh fish - I had the chirashi bowl and the sushi was fresh, not to mention the sushi chef included Kamachi (baby yellowtail) and some other Japanese fish that was really good. One more thing is that my bowl included Toro (fatty tuna), which is pretty expensive, yet the meal wasn't expensivo at all! Price - definitely a bargain here as well. My Chirashi was more than plentiful and was only $14, at lunch. Not sure what the dinner prices are, but that's a pretty good deal for sushi. I was with a coworker who ordered some of the rolls and those were awesome too! You definitely get a lot of bang for your buck here! Service - Great. The servers were very friendly and never left my water or my tea cup empty. They came around a lot to check on us to make sure we were enjoying our meal. Very friendly staff! Smaller tank for the abused sick fish would be better to have them heal. Was this a sign and indicative of the attention to details..(?) We went to eat at Yuki earlier this week and we were extremely thrilled with our order and service. We ordered a number of rolls, Chicken Udon, a Beef Stamina Yaki and a Shabu Shabu. The Shabu Shabu was cooked and served at the table - it is a big plus for service! Will return again. read more

So I stopped by here for lunch the other day and noticed the walls were reprinted, sushi magazine photos no longer hanging on the walls, new staff, and no Jimmy working behind the sushi bar. They have some fish and rolls going on that you don't find anyplace else in the area. I have only been there twice, two nights back to back, and can't wait for my third visit. One of the highlights at our last visit was a dish that had slices of yellowtail and king salmon that were in a light soy/vinegarette sauce. There were microgreens in the center of the plate and a slice of jalapeno on each slice of raw fish. You dunk some microgreens into the sauce, wrap it up with the jalapeno and fish and eat. When you first walk in you can't help but notice how pristine and clean the place is. The staff are very friendly and very accommodating. The avocado roll I had ordered came out beautiful. The avocado was fresh and the rolls were put together well and did not fall apart when picked up. I also ordered chicken teriyaki and that was also very good. Chicken was tender and not over cooked. What a rip off this place is. First their Yuki box lunch increased to just over $14 then if you want order the Yuki box for dinner you pay $5 more but you don't get more food for that additional price. At least at Johnny Roll House across the street they give you complementary sushi when you order from them and there sushi is much better. read more

Moved to bergen county about a year ago and have tried several different sushi places in the area. This place is the best! After two visits we are thoroughly impressed. Their menu includes all of the usual suspects, but if you really want to enjoy this place you must be open to suggestion. Let the waitress suggest a special platter. They always know what is best to order that night. We tried a japanese oyster and a live scallop for the first time. They were both excellent. We also had a platter of sliced yellowtail, king salmon and toro (fatty tuna) in a light soy/vinegarette sauce. They were served with sliced jalapeno and bean sprouts which could be combined for a tasty roll. Of course there is also a great selection of specialty rolls. Just ask your server! Yuki? They should call it YUCKY. A coworker and I went to Yuki on our lunchbreak, and it was the worst dining experience either of us has ever had. After bringing us water in dirty, soap-scummed glasses, we had to wait for our food for 50 minutes and when we brought it up to the waitress, she yelled at us. When the food finally came, the sushi looked slapped together and messy...the spicy tuna roll was squishy and oozing out of the triangle-shaped roll. We requested to speak to the manager, who told us that not only were we lucky to only wait 50 minutes because the rest of the restaurant had to wait for longer (which wasn't true because we saw other patrons who arrived after us receiving their food before us), but yelled at us and became very combative. They agreed to give us half-price off our food, but when we did not leave a tip (due to the aforementioned horrible service, etc.), the manager and waitress chased us out of the restaurant and DEMANDED that we leave a tip. Needless to say, we will NEVER be going back there again and will be telling all of our other coworkers not to visit this place either. read more

Stopped in for a long weekday lunch on my first trip. Setting was nice, comfortable, and relaxing (maybe that's just because I was out of the office). We sampled from the standard sushi menu and had the miso soup, eel cucumber roll, yellowtail and avocado roll, spicy tuna, and the oh so boring, but tasty California roll. My only complaint is that the spicy tuna roll, wasn't spicy. I need some kick with my tuna. Other than that, decent and fresh sushi. I can't complain if it is good. I love this place for lunch because I can get three rolls, soup, and salad, for about $12. The rolls are delicious and a great size for the price with good amounts of fish and filling and not just rice. The waitstaff is friendly and attentive and I've never had any problems with them. I am reasonably sure it is BYOB since I've seen birthday parties with bottles of wine, but you should probably call to be sure. The only drawback is that there's not huge variety in their special rolls and the special rolls aren't very inventive. I had to take off a star because I know some people are into unique sushi rolls. But if you're just looking for traditional sushi and Japanese staples, it really doesn't get better than Yuki. read more
