We ended up leaving with some vintage magazine ads and a vintage cook book. Everything felt pretty reasonable priced there if definitely something for everyone there. Located…read morein a 1927-era building that once housed the "Carmel Canning Company warehouse #2," and was granted "Historic Structure" status by the City of Monterey in 1994, one year before the Antique Mall opened in June '95. This place is by far my favorite antique store in the Bay Area, as its 21,000+ sq ft of floor space and two floors are occupied by over 100 different merchants selling everything from modern art and jewelry to old toys and abundant knickknacks. The only issue with this place is the parking situation, which can be a bit of a hassle, especially on weekends. Fortunately, it's a bit removed from the more popular Cannery Row area and on the opposite side of the Aquarium, so while it may be difficult, it's not impossible. Otherwise, come forth and feast your eyes on the treasures to behold. Just make sure you give yourself at least two hours to take it all in, or you're going to miss out on some interesting finds.

I wanted to like this place and I came in looking for pieces for my clients, it was clear that they…read moredid not view me as somebody who could afford these pieces little did they know I work with VIP clients. however upon noting that they sell black americana figurines I felt the need to alert the store owner of the racist nature of what they are selling and her response was "well it's really how you take it" there is no other way to take it if you understand the history of what black people went through in this country and what they are still facing. these figurines are known as racist memorabilia from a time when black people were viewed as objects and subhuman to characterize them. made by and for white people. selling them is irresponsible, negligent, and racist as a white person in a white town. please do better and stop selling these items.
