I am going to start with the variety dozen of cookies I got. The whole box was warm from the cookies. I tried the snickerdoodle cookie right away. It melted in my mouth and was so good. Next one up was the red velvet cookie. Nice hint of chocolate and the white chips were complimentary with the whole cookie. The peanut butter cookie could have had a little more peanut flavor to it. But again, soft warm and fresh cookie. When I stopped in to place my order, the gentleman at the counter was very friendly and helpful since it was my first time there. He said I would be back and he is right, I will be going back to them for more cookies and to try their brookies and brownies. The store was nicely decorated and smells awesome with that cookie fragrance wafting around. The cookies are great but the ice cream horrible. On a scale 1 to 10, I give the pint of chocolate chip cookie dough a -9. The only thing good about it is that it was cold. Not sure how long this place has been open but I'm happy I finally stumbled upon this place. Hubby and I came on a Saturday night so it was very busy that the line was outside the door. There was 1 person working the front and they surely need more than 1 to have a better system to get customers in and out quickly. However, I understand is is hard for employers to get staff so we waited. The cookies were very soft and warm. We ordered a half dozen with chocolate chip and snickerdoodle. I also ordered an icing cookie sandwich with snickerdoodle and omg so good. My rating of 4 is because of inconsistencies. We were told it would take 10- 15 minutes for chocolate chip and with us already being there, we said ok. It only took 2 minutes after we checked out. We were also told they didn't have snickerdoodle but someone from the back came and said they do. Minor hiccups but still a factor. I'd come back for more cookies. read more

I placed two orders over the phone on June 27, 2024, at 12:54 PM to be picked up at 12:15 pm on June 29, 2024, for a birthday party. I arrived at the location at 12: 30 pm to pick up my order. Was I greeted immediately? NOPE. It took the OWNER roughly 5 minutes to come from the back. I stated I was here to pick up my order, giving the names on the order. She gave me the deer with the headlights look. I repeated myself again. She went to the back and then came back around to say the order wasn't ready AND she just ran out of 2 specific cookies that I specified wanting AND PRE-PAID FOR. She added insult to injuries by asking me if that would be a PROBLEM. I replied YES because I specifically placed my order ahead of time with the expectation that my order would be fulfilled with said cookies. Now, keep in mind the total order amounted to more than $50, it wasn't like I was ordering 1 or 2 cookies. ALSO, To GET the specific cookies, I wanted I had to order a 12 pack + a 6 pack instead of an 18-pack making the TOTAL cost MORE. I asked for my receipt which I had already previously seen and saw that the receipt clearly stated the date, time for pick up and the names on the order. THE OWNER, the only person in the establishment, the person that I am dealing with (NO OTHER CUSTOMERS in the place), came back around from the back after taking another 2 minutes to get the receipt, gave me the receipt BUT she had blacked out with a marker the date, time for pick up and names on the order. Why? She said she wanted to CLEAN up the receipt. WHAT the heck? How is that cleaning up the receipt. I got here to order at 835pm or 840pm there was no one in the store. Three larger crowds ordered AFTER me and got their order and left... it is now 912pm and I have yet to receive my order. Undercooked, underdone, barely-baked dough that fell apart into pieces upon being picked up. Basically a semi-raw dough center surrounded by a ring of almost done cookie around the outside. Our order was canceled due to them being short staffed, but the very next morning THE OWNER reached out to apologize about the order cancellation. I was so excited to find this place and it was my favorite. However, I placed an online order only for pickup in 30 minutes. When I arrive it was very busy, I waited patiently to be helped. When the worker came to assist me 10 minutes later she informed me she didnt have time to look at the order beforehand. She went to the back and returned stating that they were out of 4 of the cookies I had ordered and it would be additional 25 minutes to get them or I could chose another type of cookie. I asked for a refund and I was advised that she would have to text the manager to get me refund as she could not do. I will not be returning as this is poor customer service. Hot Box Cookies is a Hot Mess Company! I ordered cookies online December 26, 2023. I used PayPal to pay. When I did not receive an email from the company I thought I should call to make sure my order was received. I only received an email from PayPal. The charge went on my credit card, but no confirmation email ever showed up in my email inbox. I had to call several locations before they could locate my online order, which they said went to their national order line. Whatever that is. Since I wanted my order the same day they recommended that order be canceled, and placed again with the location that would be in my delivery area, the one in St. Charles on Beale Street. I did that. Then, I got a call from someone at the Beale Street store saying I am out of their delivery area, therefore, it would cost me an extra $7 to get my order delivered. WTH? I told the girl to just cancel. The whole situation was ridiculous AND A WASTE OF TIME. I would not recommend ordering online with this company because their ordering system is terrible. Such a complete waste of time. NOW, I am having to wait on two refunds. Although I told her to cancel my order, guess who has to call back again because the order was not delivered nor cancelled. Came in at 8:55 pm and was told that management said not to bake anymore although there is a literal black and white types sign that reads they don't bake 30 minutes before close. They are open until 10 today.... I was given 4 options on what was left and I chose two (1 red velvet, one seasonal). I was also offered the option to wait while she baked whatever I wanted. I waited for my other 4. She asked if I wanted the ones already made right away or if I wanted to wait until all the cookies were done. I told her I wanted them all at once. While waiting, she must've sold the red velvet I already purchased and there one in the oven while the others were already halfway through. I checked my box as soon as it was given to me and was told "that's just how they come, sorry".... I'm an avid hotbox cookie customer - that is unacceptable and they do NOT come like that.
