    Tenders

I've been looking for a place that was just as delicious as the place I had hot chicken in Nashville. The Mac and cheese was just okay. Needed some oomph. Fries were decent. Not the best, but definitely not the worst I've had. I picked "medium" for my chicken tenders. It was not hot or spicy at all. It was honestly quite bland in spice level, but there was some type of seasoning. After I was about to take the last bite of my first tender, there was a small grey hair cooked into the tender. I completely lost my appetite.

Very excited to try their hot chicken of course. Ordered the classic hot chicken, medium spice level, with fries. Fries had cajun seasonings on it. The spice of the chicken is dry rub not sauce. The medium was not spicy at all. The kick came more from the sauce they put on it but it was pretty mild. The chicken was very good and juicy on the inside; just not spicy. Loved the fries. Ordered a side of mac and cheese which was good. Would go back to try a hotter spice level; wish they had a sauce option. Service was good. They have indoor and outdoor seats. Drive thru pickup. Not sure if you can order.

    Comeback Sauce is AMAZING!!

10 out of 10!!!! Unplanned, we drove past and took a shot at this little gem and we are thrilled that we did! Ordered the chicken sandwich, home style, and WOW!!! Crispy but surprisingly juicy and tender on the inside! Talk about Flavor Town, where is Guy Fieri?! Fries are excellent as are the Mac and cheese and the corn nuggets sides! Extra bonus was the warm and friendly smiles that greet you! These guys are great! Adorably fun decor! Will certainly be back and telling all who will listen!

First time trying hotchickenmama and I'm a fan I ordered a hot snack wrap w/ fries and a lavender lemonade The chicken was flavorful and crunchy I order the hot variation, but they have a range in their heat level... the hot was perfect for me spicy and still delicious. Server's were helpful and patient with me. Clean restaurant would be a perfect place to sit for lunch with someone

Pretty good honestly. We randomly stopped by based on yelp reviews. I personally had the mini holler fries with 3 nuggets. I really enjoyed the fries and their house sauce. I got the medium spice which was truly medium yay. But it felt like there was a powdery thickness that took away from enjoying it completely. Idk texture doesn't normally bug me but this did. Would still come back to try again. I don't live smaller menus. It means they can really do things right. Give it a try if you're around there. Love the decor too

If you want the tl:dr there is something wrong when the fries are the best part of a place called Hot Chicken Mama. Ok so based on previous reviews, I was prepared to be disappointed but somehow I am more disappointed than I thought I would be. Let me start off by saying that none of the food was BAD per se. That's actually inaccurate, the cabbage on top of the chicken sando was bad but since it was a slight part of the whole experience, I won't dock them for the cabbage totally. Starting off, when I walked in there were about 8 people behind the counter and no one was like "hey welcome!" The music that was playing was definitely not family friendly and if I had my child with me I would have most certainly asked why it was playing. The spot where the cash register is oddly enough it not where you pick up your food so after waiting behind someone that young man behind the counter just pointed to say I pick up "over there" and walked away. Great start. I ordered chicken nuggets (medium) and a chicken sando (hot) with fries. Get the food home and take out the chicken nuggets and the bag is soaked through with grease. So much so that the box the chicken sando came in was also smeared with grease on top. And the strangest part of all is the chicken nuggets themselves were dry AF so WHERE DID ALL THE GREASE COME FROM?! The nuggets, while unappetizing in appearance and not even close to being hot, tasted alright. (Side note: I think the reason my food was ready in ten minutes from the time I called is because it had been sitting around which like ok, it's 7 pm, I get it but could you maybe heat it up so it's hot? It is my dinner, after all) Tried the comeback sauce, but it did not really taste like anything. Moving on to the sando and fries. The fries were great and they had a light sprinkling of seasoning which kind of tasted like whatever they sprinkle on BBQ potato chips. I can't be positive but I would hazard a guess that the fries are frozen because they are perfect crinkle cut and uniform in size. Easily the best part of the meal but frozen fries with seasoning I can make in my air fryer. The sando itself is 2 chicken tenders with slaw, pickles, and some type of sauce on a bun. The bun was falling apart, probably because it was not hefty enough to contain the sando which made a messy sandwich messier. The chicken was appropriate spice level for hot and was thankfully warmer than the nuggets. The issue that I had was that the slaw actually ruined the taste of the sando to the point that I did not even finish it. Pretty disappointing all in all. They sell quarter and half chickens and I would be curious to see what they look like but based on my experience I most certainly don't want to spend money. Perhaps another Yelper will upload a photo and I can live vicariously through them.

So glad I drove from Stony Brook today... change your hours!

I am by no means a chicken afficianto. I've been to Nashville and tried different restaurant versions creating their spin on Nashville Hot Style chicken. When I heard there was a Nashville Hot Style Chicken place opening in Patchogue (Blue Point?) I was excited to try me some Nashville hot chicken. The issue is my wife. She doesn't eat anything spicy as well as anything with carbs. It's a challenge to dine with her so I know spicy anything isn't in her mix. Wednesday afternoon, she calls me and says I don't have dinner for us, wanna go to the chicken place you mentioned? We pull up and see the place is open. Once inside, there is no indoor dining?? They had folding chairs set up for outdoor dining. Brah, its 32 degrees! I told my wife they sell different platters with no seasoning, plain chicken. We go to the counter and I immediately order a Lavender Lemonade. Sooooo good by the way. I'm waiting for my wife to order, she's hemming and hawing over the menu. She finally asks, can I get the next level of spicy, can I have the wings easy? The counterperson says, sure! I have them all the time. Then she asks: Can I substitute the fries for something else? Absolutely not we're told. I order a medium spiced chicken sandwich, a side of brussel sprouts and head back to the car. I paid for a platter with no fries.... Here's where the Nashville style leaves the station. Nashville Style, once they have the chicken out of the fryer, they douse it in hot, kicked up oil. Hot Chicken Mama, it seems takes their chicken and runs it thru a spice dredge. I get the text and grab our food. I could have drove home but I'm 25 minutes away so we decide to eat in the car. I grab my sandwich and take a bite. My sandwich is made using chicken tenders. The chicken was prepped with some chicken love, it's very soft and moist. But the chicken has a dredge - rub on it. It's spicy but not in the same Nashville style. I look over to my wife, she's not happy. The "easy" spice has heat. And the rub is something she hates. The Brussel sprouts had liquid at the bottom of the cup?? I can't enjoy my chicken because my wife has RBF (Resting B*tch Face) over this meal. She packs up her stuff and dinner for her is over. I'm trying to drink my Lavender Lemonade and the paper straw self destructed.... I drove away, went to Five Guys and ordered a Lettuce Wrap Burger for my wife. This morning my wife says I still have spice rub under my nails. Hot Chicken Mama? Good luck! I won't be back.

Food is good. Comeback sauce is delicious. Mac n cheese is subpar. Chicken sometimes comes dry.

Wanted to love it but chicken was dry and not very tasty. Kids got the tenders and they didn't like it either.
